You know that old saying… He’s the next big thing.Yeah, that was me. I was a rising star, and I couldn’t have been happier.Fame, money, women at every turn. I had it all, until the day my world came crashing in.I never fathomed this would be my life. But here I am, a single dad at twenty-eight and I have no clue what I’m doing.I pray every day I’m giving her the best life, ‘cause it’s the only one … ‘cause it’s the only one I know.
The minute I had lost everything and had nothing left to give.
Charlee showed up.
She restored my faith and gave us so much more than I ever deserved.
So can you tell me why I’m sitting here alone?
Every single day that goes by without them, I lose more of myself.
It’s hard to imagine a world they’re not a part of.
So I pick up my old guitar and tell them both how I feel.
Turns out, lullabies aren’t just for children.

This was a beautiful story of loss and love. I fell for both Alden and Charlee and I loved seeing old friends from her other books. The story had me reading late in the night and gave me all the feels. This was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to read more of the authors books.
What an emotional roller coaster! Leaona had me crying and then laughing right after. I was so impressed with the man Alden became in this story, and Charlee was a great heroine. Of course, I enjoyed seeing all of the Cedar Grove family and spending time with them.
Wow this book my emotions are everywhere! I love in everyone Leaonas book the characters Connect and we get updated on their lives! Wow Charlee & Aldeans story you will laugh cry want to throw the device your reading on for sure! Charlee has a crush on aldean since high school she meets with him years later things happen but will fate intervene if they are meant to be? And his brother & wife get in a accident leaving a precious little girl will he win both girls in his life? Grab tissues you will need them!!
This author always gives you best down to earth romances with the family playing a huge part. Yet the anguish is what always stands out the most. If might be because she destroys you’re heart. Gah I bawled by eyes out only 1/4 the way in.
Charlee is so full of life. She has a huge heart but has always wanted that one guy she met as a teenager.
Alden takes a bit to warm up to. He’s pretty closed off to everyone that isn’t in his close circle of friends.
Now these two are explosive together. It’s a solid connection but more importantly, the story line doesn’t fade in and out. It’s diving into the deep of these pages.
I cried, I laughed, I celebrated and I loved every second of it all.
Leaona Luxx puts her heart and soul into each book and it shows. Luci’s Lullaby is her 9th book and once again she hits it out of the park. I love the story and Alden and Charlee. This book has it all. Heartbreak, heartache, love, a bit of humor, and some hot scenes. It’s a wonderful story and I highly recommend it.

5 Stars
To begin with, I love the cover!! Wowza! The cover is just like the story!! The story has so many roller coaster of emotions, cry and laugh. Be prepared.
Alden and Charlee ~ meet one another in high school, Charlee would watch Alden play his guitar
Highly recommend!!
Charlee and Alden’s story was a great addition to this series! Alden gets his big break but it isn’t all he hoped it would be especially with Charlee and Luci entering his world. I loved seeing all the characters again and helping these two people to find their way.
This book is a diamond in the rough. Very rough. There will definitely be spoilers in my review, so if that bothers you, skip down to the last paragraph. It may be best to break this down into what I liked and what just didn’t work for me. First, what I liked:
• The main characters. Alden and Charlee were well thought out, complex, flawed and believable.
• The plot and storyline. I loved the idea of the main characters having met in high school and being reacquainted years later, and the new, single parent out of his element was a wonderful tool to bring them together.
• The secondary characters. They were also well defined and authentic and they added so much to the story. And I thought the believable support system they provided for the main characters was great.
• The author’s ability to evoke emotions from the reader. The story is incredibly heartfelt and some bits of the writing, bordering on poetic, definitely yanked on my heartstrings. And the lullaby? Really beautiful.
Now, for what don’t work for me:
• Cheating. I don’t care that it was an incomplete oral application on the hero’s appendage, if he’s been with the heroine and cares for her, and then does anything intimate with someone else, it’s still cheating.
• The excessive amount of drama with insignificant payoff for the reader to balance it out. And this was just ridiculous. Alden’s brother, his only family and father figure, dies along with his wife in a car accident, leaving Alden to raise his infant niece while trying to become a country music star. He gets a truly evil woman for an agent, one who has more interest in getting in his pants and determines to ruin him when he doesn’t jump through her hoops. There’s drama throughout between the H/h, a false pregnancy scare with a random groupie, and Alden going of the rails and disappearing for weeks, leaving both Charlee and his niece, Luci. Any one or two of those things would have sufficed, but all together, it was drama overload.
• The hero’s inability to take responsibility for his choices and actions. I didn’t even mind the fact that he was a “horn dog” before Charlee, but when he did some stupid things and twisted them around, making it Charlee’s fault so that SHE was the one apologizing? Nope. Sorry. That doesn’t fly with me and is just as offensive as the cheating.
• The plagiarizing of song lyrics. Sorry, Ms. Luxx, but if you don’t have permission to use the lyrics and don’t state somewhere in the book that you acquired permission, it looks like plagiarism. Just as if another author quotes your words in their published work without your permission.
• The amount of errors in grammar, punctuation, mechanics, verb tenses and overlooked typos. I knew I was reading an unedited copy, but this was excessive. (I stopped highlighting at about 50% and there were over 200 errors at that point.) So you know I did due diligence, I purchased the release copy and compared it to the advance copy. While several errors have been corrected, there are still too many for my brain to make it an enjoyable reading experience.
While there are numerous issues with this book, I think the author shows talent as a storyteller and has a gift for evoking emotion from the reader. Hopefully with a little more care, a refresher on the basics of writing, and a little less emphasis on so many sources of drama, her future works will reflect that talent. I took a chance on a new author and, in spite of the issues I had with this book, I’m inclined to give her another chance. With a bit more cutting and polishing she could easily uncover the gem waiting for its chance to shine.
Sigh…no other words. Luci’s Lullaby is full of sighs. Sighs when Alden and Charlee look into each other’s eyes. Sighs when there are misunderstandings and you just want to shake them both. Sighs when they share their love for Luci and each other. Alden, a county singer who finds himself in a life changing situation. Charlee, the girl who’s loved him since high school, stands by his side, hoping her dreams come true. This story has all the feels and plenty of laughs. Friends and family from Cherry Grove that we’ve come to know and love round out the cast of characters. Such a wonderfully written book. Full of feels, full of love. There’s so much growth in the writing making these characters feel like family. Pick up a copy and listen for the lullaby.
Leaona sure knows how to rip out your heart! Wow. Just when you think it can’t get more heartbreaking she throws something else at us. I thought Chord and Sarah’s story was the hardest, but my goodness! I did love touching base with all the previous characters. Where this CAN be read as a stand alone, it brings in the rest of the family from her other books. I have not read them all and still love this group of friends. I recommend this book for sure!
This was my first book by this author and thought I didn’t love it I did enjoy it. I was expecting something a little different from the blurb but i think I liked this better.
Charlee has had a crush on Alden since high school and when she came face to face with him years later she still felt the butterflies. What starts out as a one night stand turns out to be so much more when Alden suddenly becomes guardian of his niece.
This is really a great story and the writer did a phenomenal job giving us her story. I do however feel like it jumped around some and at times I was a little confused. I did really like it and will definitely check out others from this author.

“I would be lying if I said that I could live this life without you.”

You will always remember your first love even if you never got the chance to tell them how you felt. Sometimes fate gives you a second chance and a teenage crush can lead to a connection you never knew existed.
Music soothes the soul and Alden has fond memories of playing his guitar down by the river, writing songs and thinking about his future. Now he plays in bars and clubs and is waiting for his big break, while spending time with countless women who love being with a country singer. None of them have ever meant anything to him until a familiar face with unforgettable blue eyes, walked into a club where his band was playing. Charlee Rae was even more beautiful then he remembered and he wouldn’t let her get away again.
Charlee Rae had a huge crush on Alden in high school but she moved away before she could get to know him. When she walked into the bar she heard his voice before she saw his face and she couldn’t believe, after all these years, that Alden was back in her life. Charlee Rae had never forgotten Alden but she wasn’t interested in being with someone who had women hanging around him all the time. She wants to be with someone she can trust and who will never leave her.
Alden was at the end of his rope and the only person he trusted to help him was Charlee Rae. She could give him the strength he needed to go on so he could plan for the future, which he prayed would include her. He would give up his music if he could have her in his life until the end of time.
Alden was born with music in his heart and he thought he knew the path his life would take. He didn’t foresee being a single parent, taking a break from music or falling in love. He couldn’t live his life without Charlee Rae because she was his soulmate and his reason for living. Leaona has given us a story that is full of passion, heartbreak and understanding that everyone will love and never forget.
Alden and Charlee. Get ready for another fantastic ride filled with every emotion that your heart can withstand.
Charlee has always had a crush on the handsome Alden but his player ways have always kept her at a distance. They went to the same high school but were not sweethearts. Years later a country bar an attraction that cannot be denied but she refuses to be a notch in his bedpost. Alden realizes that he needs to prove himself and will not risk loosing Charlee .Then Luci is placed into the mix and that is a game changer. I truly love the way that Leaona weaves her magic and you fall in love with her story and characters.

Leaona Luxx is a favourite author of mine and this book was amazing, something Leaona is definitely known for.
Alden is amazing. He is definitely my new favourite male character. He is going to be hard to beat, but I’m sure Leaona will do that with her next book.
Charlee is an amazing strong female, as you expect with Leaona. I love that she’s not a whimpering mess.Leaona Luxx
This book! Leaona has done it again, she’s made me have a total freak out, bust a leak in my eyes and had me falling in love with all the characters from her first book Cherry Grove all the way to the newcomers in this book.
In Luci’s Lullaby you get heartbreak, grief, lies, anger, sorrow, forgiveness, lust, unconditional love, sex and the characters witty banter. A beautiful cover, 2 POVs ,1 amazing book.
Alden is a up and coming musician and we all know what goes with a band, groupies, and he likes to take full advantage of an easy lay. That is until Charlee comes back into his life, the last time he seen her was high school but he’s never forgotten her. One night with her and he’s a goner, but it’s just one night and now he’s friend zoned. Soon his life is put into a tailspin and he has to man up, he has to be a single dad through the worst possible situation. He has a lot to deal with, he loves baby Luci with all his heart and gives it his all. Charlee is there for they even when he doesn’t deserve it, but as a friend. That needs to change, he needs to change his life and win her back, but is it too late?
Charlee reunites with her childhood crush Alden at one of his shows, but she tells a little fib about her name. One night only with him, he doesn’t deserve her with the way he’s a total manwhore, so loving him as a friend it has to be. Then there’s Luci who’s stolen her heart, she treats her as her own. With having the baby Alden shows her his true nature that she saw when they were teens, caring and so lovable. Their relationship grows, but his growing fame will put that to the test and it’s one they might not survive.
Will they all get the HEA they deserve?
Or will lies and jealousy pull them apart?
Have you ever read a book that touches your heart? Well this one will! There were times while reading this book that my heart physically ached . Such sadness and pain. Alden and Charlee knew each other as teenagers. Charlee was in love with him and Alden didn’t understand the feelings he had when he looked at her. When Alden and Cyd’s life becomes irrevocably changed Charlee’s Is also changed. Charlee is moving from West Virginia to Cherry Grove so her uncle can help them while her mother is undergoing cancer treatments. There are no goodbyes for Alden and Charlee. Thirteen years have passed and Charlee is going out to a bar with a girlfriend and there’s a a band playing. Guess who the lead singer is…Alden. She instantly recognizes him but introduces herself as Rae , Alden recognizes her too but doesn’t let on. It turns out they have a multitude of mutual friends. He’s turned into something of a player and Charlee calls him on his BS. This begins something that will change them both. I don’t want to spoil anything about this book but their will be a point in this book that will be tragic but out of those ashes will rise something great. I wish I was better about expressing my feelings about this book. There is a quote that sticks with me “ Love is the purest and easiest thing to do” . Also there is is a moment that I laughed so hard I cried, Tarbell’s hoodie, You’ll kno it when you read it. This book is a magnificent story of loss, love, and living. Thank you Leonna for sharing your gift of writing, this book is a treasure! A must read!
Leaona continues to amaze me . There are not enough words to describe the emotion and depth to this story. I wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars. Leaona knows how to pull you in, rip your heart out ,give you peace and put your heart back together again.
Alden and Charlee are destined to be together even if they don’t know it yet.. At the beginning of the story fate has other ideas for these two.
They are both dealt some tragic circumstances that shape them into the adults we see 13 years after their introduction to us.
Their story is one of secret crushes , growing up, loss, sadness and unconditional love. . It’s about loving yourself , trusting yourself and letting others love you even when you think you aren’t worthy.
Alden and Charlee navigate their personal demons as individuals to become the amazing couple they were always meant to be.
It was wonderful catching up with everyone in Cherry Grove. I love how Leaona weaves all the characters together to make a family .
I recommend this book a million times over. Thank you for another amazing book Leaona Luxx. Looking forward to your next book.
Leaona never ceases to surprise me with her capability of writing beautiful books. This book is just another notch in her belt and she should be extremely proud of it. I cried my eyes out in numerous parts of the book and felt my heart break as well. Make sure to have tissues with you when you read this! All I will say, is Alden and Charlee are saints along with all of their friends/family.
You know what I love about reading? Knowing that every single book by a certain author you read will be a can’t-put-down, all-night-binge-read, book-hangover-inducing hit. This author is one of my absolute favorites, her writing style is one that invokes all the feelings. I love how every book is a standalone, and yet you always feel as though you’re stepping right in the middle of a family reunion. Luci’s Lullaby touched me in so many ways, and I seriously could not put it down. I read it within hours, and am still suffering the affects a few days later. I need more! Charlee and Alden’s story is a definite must read. Just have tissues on hand, as you should for all of Ms. Luxx’s books!
