Why Does Her Father Want Her to Marry That Dastardly Man?
I have read this author for a year-and-a-half now, and I am happy to see that her storytelling keeps improving. This book started off well, clearly showing the heroine’s difficult relationship with her cruel father, easily setting up what happens later in the book. I loved the aunt. We should all have someone in our corner like her. The heroine’s father certainly has plans for her that are not in her best interest whatsoever but are completely in his. There’s definitely a hint of instalove between the hero and the heroine, but so much else had to happen in this novella that I guess we had to just get the romance going! As the author mostly writes, this is romantic suspense. The hero is put in jeopardy by the machinations of her father and the blackguard her father wants her to marry. While the heroine separates from the hero for his safety, the hero wants to get to the bottom of what must be a shady connection between the heroine’s father and the man he wants her to marry. So, will they get it all sorted out in time? You’ll have to read the book to see how it all shakes out. While this is part of a series, it can certainly be enjoyed on its own. But the other books in this series are well done, too.

Clean read
Unbeknownst to her Lucinda’s freedom is at stake. Her father Lord Swinton has good fortune at the card table and equally good fortune at cheating. This has attracted him a most unsavory partner in crime. Lord Astley having discovered the source of Lord Swinton’s good fortune wanted in on the scheme. Lord Swinton being the talented swindler he was quickly devised another scheme to gather more money. It would be a win win all around except for one detail but could be deal with. With this and more going on in the background sweet serendipity arrived and Lucinda is put in the path of Phillip, Lord Wiltshire. The way in which Lucinda and Phillip meet the first time was just as he had described to his friend Lord Hoskins that’s where the fun and mayhem begins. Lucinda was fortunate to her aunt Lady Crampton by her side. A clean sweet read.

When Lucinda Williams and Phillip, Viscount Wiltshire see each other across a ballroom and it’s attraction at first sight, but her father Lord Swinton has another gentleman he wants her to wed instead, Lord Astley who is disagreeable and will go to any lengths to get what he wants. There was plenty of suspense as Lucinda, her aunt Lady Crampton, Phillip, and his friend Lord Hoskins work together to uncover what hold Lord Astley has over Lord Swinton. I liked Lord Hoskins who liked to tease Phillip about his attraction to Lucinda. I’m looking forward to reading about him losing his heart in a future book.
Freedom to choose. Lucinda’s father is mean and demanding and belittle her all the time, but she thought he loved her. But when she finds out what he has been doing, and scheming behind her back, she has to stop him. Will Lucinda be able to marry the man she loves or will she be forced into marrying the man her father has picked out for his nefarious schemes?

Lucinda Williams is a very unhappy young lady. Her father cares nothing for her and is always finding fault with what she does. She can never please him.
Viscount, Lord Wiltshire has gone to London to enjoy himself and not to look for a bride. But, when he lays eyes on Lucinda he is dumbstruck, love at first sight and she feels the same. Her father has other ideas. He is pushing her towards his friend Lord Ashley, who is a cruel and unmannerly Viscount. When Lucinda denies Lord Ashley for Lord Wiltshire then Lord Wiltshire suffers a bad accident.
This is a must-read to all who like good clean stories with lots of mystery and twists and turns. I recommend it, it is a page-turner you won’t want to put down.

ONE SENSATIONAL TREAT
Exceptional! Joyce hooks you from the start with this tough as nails 100% on point realism, laying all the frills, spills and debacles, rocking this gem to and fro, melding this baby together seamlessly. Ramping up the exuberance and intensity with this heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, page flipping, block buster, catapulting this gem to staggering heights. Traversing through a minefield of perilous drama and harrowing deception, negotiating through the manipulations and dark machinations of malicious deeds, propelling this gem to life flawlessly. The attraction and chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing thrilling emotions, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters, banter, interactions and charged atmosphere are realistic, complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and diversity, blending into charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Joyce, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
This family-friendly Regency tale of a greedy father attempting to force his daughter to marry someone only he thinks of as a suitable match can be read in a morning.
