I never imagined the protector I longed for would be a mob boss who demanded complete control.
I shouldn’t have gone to Lucien’s office.
Once I looked into his eyes, I couldn’t leave.
He commanded me to kneel.
Beg.
Obey.
I couldn’t help myself.
One taste, and I craved more.
Lucien vowed to protect me from his enemies…
But who’s going to protect my heart from him?
This MM mafia romance is the … is the first book in the Marchesi Family series.

Peter and Lucien
One look and his mind says ‘mine’ Lucien is arrogant, confident and dangerous and the head of the mafia family, where loyalty and protection is everything.
Peter couldn’t be more the opposite of him, he’s sweet and innocent. Working for Lucien was one but now he’s his property and has to live with him to be protected.
He loved that but being Lucien’s plaything wasn’t anywhere near what he felt for Lucien. He was afraid of his heart.
There is a threatening situation for Lucien and the ones he cared for.
Who to trust and who not.
I’m not sure if the author wanted to create a rough slightly dark mafia story or a sweet romance with some sharp edges. It didn’t really matter, it was captivating and I read it in on sit. The focus on Peter and Lucien was great. The danger was well thought out.
It was a fast-paced, entertainingly, captivatingly, and smoothly written story and sexy af. The development was slight, for a series enough. I found it more sweet than dangerous.
A great start to a series.
I’m sure that the idea of a hardened, ruthless mafia boss being softened by love calls to all our romantic hearts. And they don’t make them more ruthless than Silvia Violet’s Lucien. His position required him to be merciless, but I’ve learned reading this book that his heart wasn’t as cold as he showed the world…not in his private life and definitely not with Peter. The younger man seemed to be created specially for Lucien. Submissive, and so sweet and gentle that inevitably, thanks to his presence, Lucien’s sharpness was softened.
In Lucien’s violent world, and for men like him, loved ones were liabilities and always in danger. And maybe Peter didn’t really belong, or Lucien had too much blood on his hands to deserve such a treasure, but there was no denying that for him, Peter was precisely that: a treasure, a precious gift to pamper and to spoil…and to dominate.
So, if you want to see an intimidating, cold hearted mafia boss’s version of lovey-dovey, is the book for you.

“Do you know what I want from you…? Everything.” I love sexy mafia stories and this one is fantastic. I loved Lucien’s demanding nature and Peter’s willingness to please. Their intense and smoldering connection pulled me in from the beginning.
Lucien is a Prince Charming but one with a little tarnish that made me love him even more. Peter is almost angelic. He has an inner strength that wasn’t surprising but he did amaze me. “I can’t promise that because I will always choose to save you if I can…” These two will do anything for each other and beware anyone who tries to come between them. Suspense, danger, intrigue, feisty and sexy bad boys that I want more of, and a deep, abiding love await in this terrific beginning to a new series.
Lucien is the first book in The Marchesi Family series, a mafia romance series with bad boys and hot sex. Lucien is the head of the Marchesi Family and he is ruthless. Ever since his father’s retirement, the success of the Family has relied on him. But as ruthless as Lucien is, he’s still willing to give people a second chance. Peter is a young man who’s trying to find a stable job with little success. When his cousin Jimmy tells him about this great job opportunity, Peter is skeptical at first, but ultimately decides to take a chance. What Peter doesn’t know is that the job Jimmy told him about is actually a second-chance method Lucien gave Jimmy to clear up his debt. Lucien is displeased with Jimmy’s subterfuge, but the moment Lucien lays eyes on Peter, nothing else matters. Lucien must own Peter, and Peter finds himself falling in love with one of the most dangerous men in the city.
This book was highly entertaining and really, really, really hot. Lucien and his mob family make no excuses for their behaviors, and it is no secret that they aren’t “nice” men. There is violence and mafia politics that add drama and excitement to the book, but the main focus of the book is the relationship between Lucien and Peter. The chemistry between these two men is explosive and all the scenes are hot and delicious. Silvia Violet does not skimp at all when it comes to all the steamy moments, and I’m so happy she went all out. Despite Lucien’s darker nature, there is still wonderful tender moments between Lucien and Peter. Their sex is not only hot and kinky, but also sweet and delicious.
Lucien, written by Silvia Violet, is the very first mafia romance that I’ve read or listened to. There are a lot of people out there that gobble up these sorts of books, but I’ve always avoided them. To be totally honest, the main reason I listened to this book was that I enjoy Silvia Violet’s writing style. I was worried that I’d dislike mafia romances or similar because they delve into romanticizing criminal lifestyles. And believe you me, it’s laughable for me to say that because I’ve been into some pretty messed up books that dance within the black area. I’m a walking contradiction, I know.
Now, saying all of that, I actually thought the first Marchesi Family book was pretty good. It’s the story of how an innocent young man becomes the love interest of a mob boss. Peter was a young guy down on his luck, out of work, and needing stability in his life when the story starts. His shady cousin, Jimmy, convinces Peter to take an office assistant job. Supposedly Jimmy was meant to start the job the next day but tells Peter he got a ‘better offer’ elsewhere. Peter takes up the offer, he just didn’t know that the job, and his boss, weren’t what he expected.
Lucien Marchesi is the head of the Marchesi crime family. After his father stepped down, Lucien took over with the single-minded determination of proving himself as the gay head of the Marchesi family. He comes across ass this hardass with a firm grip on the goings-on of their businesses. Lucien is a ‘take no shit’ sort of person, even when it comes to his family, that gets whatever he wants. And what he wants is Peter.
It’s clear from the beginning that there is a D/s relationship in the works. Lucien immediately makes it obvious he expects Peter to bend to his will and, despite being afraid in the beginning, Peter does submit. The dynamics are incredibly sexy between these two. I loved seeing the push and pull of the power play with Lucien and Peter. The hot mob boss introduces Peter to pleasures and pain that he’s never known before, and Peter is living for it.
I liked the little bit of drama that happened throughout this book. Everything from Angel thinking Peter might be their leak, Devil seeming to have a twisted streak, Jimmy being shady as hell, and the power struggle among the mafia families, there was so much going on with this book. It wasn’t very dark or graphic regarding the violence. I was a little disappointed by that. When you think of a crime related book, you expect a lot of violence, right? But, it wasn’t so mellow that I found it boring.
This was an entertaining read that left me feeling happy enough once I finished. Michael Dean did a great job of infusing so much passion into these characters while narrating. I love that Michael Dean does put so much energy into everything he reads. Though I liked the story well enough, I might not have stayed as interested in the overall story if there had been a different narrator. I’m so happy he was the one Silvia Violet chose to read her book.
Overall, I’d recommend this novel to anyone interested in mellower mafia romances. If you want something that dallies in the mafia scene without too much violence and gory, you’d probably enjoy this read. If you’re looking for something grittier, you might be disappointed. The sexy scenes, in my opinion, are pretty damn hot, and, considering it’s Silvia Violet who wrote this, I’d say that’s just about right. If this sounds good to you, you should definitely check this book out.
“Once you crossed that threshold”—he gestured toward the door to his office—”you became mine.”
When Peter shows up to take his sleazy cousin Jimmy’s place as a receptionist, his manager is a controlling, powerful suit to whom Peter is both attracted and scared of. But it’s when he punishes Peter for not doing exactly as he had commanded that Peter knows he’s in really big trouble. Especially when it becomes obvious Lucien has staked his claim on Peter, whether Peter wants him to or not. Now the only question is, does Lucien want his heart along with his body, or Peter doomed to being just Lucien’s plaything and property, or will Lucien accept the love in his heart, too?
Lucien knows his Mafia world isn’t safe for Peter, and when it comes to his safety, he wants Peter protected at all hours. What better solution than to move him in? But can Peter accept Lucien’s control, both in and out of the bedroom? Accept it and submit?
“Do you need a man who will demand obedience from you, Peter?”
“No, I…don’t know.”
“I think you do. I’m going to be that man for you. I’m going to control you, but I’m also going to take care of you.”
I would call this Mafia-lite, but it’s still entertaining. I like the dynamics of Peter and Lucien’s relationship – it’s BDSM-lite and Lucien isn’t too over the top control freakish or dominant, but he is intent on exploring the power exchange with his new love. It’s fairly standard issue – damaged hero who doesn’t do love, but falls anyway, and the partner who thinks he or she isn’t strong or good enough for the alpha, but it was still well written and I liked both Peter and Lucien. Add a little bit of action and the story felt well rounded, and the chemistry between the two is hot, so 4 stars is very fair.
4.25 Stars!
Lucien was definitely not what I expected even with the warnings, not that that’s a bad thing. Yes, there’s BDSM, impact play, edging, violence, so beware if you’re not into those.
Lucien and Peter couldn’t be more different if they tried. Peter, sweet and young and fairly innocent, who’s thrown to the wolves (so to speak) when his cousin offers him a job as a receptionist at one of Lucien’s businesses. And Lucien, the head of a powerful mob family and used to getting what he wants when he wants it, who is unable to stop himself from wanting to make Peter his from the moment they meet. Lucien is set in his ways, closed-off and dominant, and Peter is naturally submissive and even if afraid, he finds himself swept off his feet by Lucien. Pete’s not that certain about Lucien being a mob boss, but he’s unable to run away from him and Lucien is determined to keep Peter for himself and protect him from his enemies, who seem to be wanting to make a move against their family.
The story was intriguing and engaging and definitely hot. Lucien and Peter had a lot of chemistry and were really hot together. It was great seeing Lucien’s control slip slowly where Peter was concerned and let the younger man into his heart. And well, Peter was just a delight. And the secondary storyline, with the Ricci family making a play against Lucien and his family, had enough twists and turns to keep things moving during the second half and showed us how good Peter and Lucien were for each other. Plus, I really liked Angelo and Devil and I’m already looking forward to their stories. Recommendable!

Peter never in his life dreamed he’d become the personal assistant to Lucien Marchesi, mod boss, when he decided to follow his cousin, Jimmy’s, recommendation to go in his place for a job. Lucien didn’t anticipate how his life would change after he first laid eyes Peter sitting at the desk outside of his office. I love me a good mafia romance and this one definitely hits the spot. I loved the D/s aspect of this story between Lucien and Peter in the bedroom. I also liked that it remained mostly in the bedroom and not all the time, but there were some elements to it where Lucien would take control out of the bedroom too. It was the perfect balance for this story. I don’t think Lucien’s character was as dark as he could have been, but I did enjoy him quite a lot. Peter definitely was his perfect opposite. Light, sunny, and innocent. I did enjoy this story quite a lot, and I cannot wait to read “Angelo” next.
