Renounced and reborn, a fire burns within me. Yet the closer I get to making Riverbourne pay for what they did, the less satisfied I feel. Revenge is a lonely, complicated, and ultimately impossible road if, like me, you’re tired of hurting those you care about. Can I reclaim what love remains? Or I have I gone too far?
The fun continues and games are at play as tensions skyrocket between Riverbourne and Arcadia in this highly entertaining high school bully romance. This book focuses more on the complex family dynamics between Colt and Lacey and their parents and also the relationship between Tuck and his father. Friendships also play key roles and as always, there are some loyalties and motives put to test, thus triggering the question of who can be fully trusted.
I found Loyal Love to have less of a focus on romance as well as the shocking bullying events with more attention paid to family interrelationships and friendships. While there is good progression in the story, it seemed that a huge chunk of the book was more about laying the groundwork to what is sure to be an explosive conclusion to this saga in Done Deal. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what happens next!.
The fourth installment of the series, and for any of this book to make any sense, the previous stories need to be read. If this was a T.V. show this would have been the down episode, the one that nothing really happens but all the clues are left and the scene is set for the episode coming next week. Lots of drama in this one, and the rest I feel was just filler; I am actually starting to get a bit frustrated with this series. I give it 4 stars.
Wow! What an action packed full on book Loyal Love is and l loved it. The story continues on from the third book, Rich Riot, and I appreciate how there is no big revisit of the previous events. You do need to read these books in order to really understand what is going on and it is so worthwhile. Not being a huge fan of the YA genre I can honestly say this series has smashed my perception of it.
Lacey and Colt’s troubles seem to be forever piling up more and more without a solution in sight. Tuck and Lacey are estranged too yet Colt and Greer are getting closer.
I found myself literally sitting on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book and couldn’t put it down. I have to say the ending was a tad confusing but I know why and am so looking forward to the conclusion in the fifth book.
The stakes just got ever higher in Loyal Love! The balance of power has shifted again, and the political games these teens are playing have raised the stakes yet again. Tuck and Lacey grow closer, as do Colt and Greer. I am loving the parents’ involvement as well. It definitely gives this story a huge twist I didn’t see coming, and gives me a whole new perspective on each of them! I’m dying to see how this concludes!
Revenge is a dish best served cold as everything is coming to a head in Loyal Love. The pressure building between the two towns and their inhabitants are dividing Tuck and Lacey. Mandy takes Lacey under her wing but can she be trusted given her alliance with Amber. Colt stirs the hornets nest and decides it is time to stand up to Alicia. Greer finally makes a choice as to which side of the white line she stands. The parents of the Arcadian kids take an interest in what is happening and lend a hand. Can’t wait to get all the answers from Done Deal.
There are a lot of changes happening for the kids that change how everything is going. They are having to figure out again who they can count on and who is the enemy. Changing loyalties and altering relationships keep things moving!
Max Henry’s ability to weave such a myriad of characters into an incredible story is truly remarkable. Loyal Love is book four in the series and takes us further into the twists and turns of Arcadia and Riverbourne. I won’t spoil the amazing storyline, but will tell you that this is the best in the series yet. It does leave us with the setup for book five and I CANNOT WAIT for where Max takes us. The youth from both schools have more than their fair share to deal with and explain. The story had taken twists and turns that leave your jaw hanging open and yelling at the page one moment and smiling the next. Fabulous work, Max!!!
Her freedom from the wrath of the city slickers is beneath her fingers upon a piece of paper that will bring down her brother.
But can she hand him over to them?
As her self belief begins to dwindle, and the problems mount, her reletionship hits the rocks, will anything ever be the easy and simple again?
My head is still spinning from all I’ve just read. So many different issues and people with agendas its hard to see the truth in everyone’s actions.
But know my truth. This is a direct continuation of the Arcadia series. The books released so far are:-
1.Good girls
2. Bad boys
3. Rich riot
4. Loyal love
You really do need to read them in the correct order otherwise you will be completely lost.
To be completely honest when I first started reading this series I loved it. The divide between the city and the countryside and the differences appealed to me.
I’m finding now that there’s almost too much going on.
I read to relax not to find my head more mashed than ever and unable to follow the plot without some serious thinking, so I’m a little dissapointed with the path this book has taken.
Schemes, politics and money that talks drive the world in the city.
The countryside is simpler, and more laid back or so I thought..
Now both are complicated, friendships are fraught and everywhere you turn theres something brewing.
Make it simpler, remove the whiplash and it could of been another five star read, but for what I read I’m giving it four.
I received a copy of this book from publisher/author to review.
Renounced and reborn, a fire burns within me. Yet the closer I get to making Riverbourne pay for what they did, the less satisfied I feel. Revenge is a lonely, complicated, and ultimately impossible road if, life me, you’re tired of hurting those you care about. Cain i reclaim what love remains? Or have I gone to far?
This is the fourth book in the Arcadia High Anarchists. You need to read Good Girls, Bad Boys, and Rich Riot before you even attempt to read Loyal Love. I am not even sure how to review this one. I am terrified of giving something away. This is where you start getting the answers to question that were burning in your mind and you find out how the kids and parents are dealing with everything that has happened. You too just might finally have a favorite character that will grow on you in this book. This is where they start to see how their behavior in the war of power and revenge between Arcadia and Riverbourne and one in particular sees just how broken he is. As always Max Henry has done an absolutely amazing job with the book and I could not put it down. I so can not wait for the conclusion to this series and see how it all plays our and wraps up.
With each new book in the series I fall for these guys that little but more and unusually for me I don’t have a favourite character. This is one of those stories that everything becomes a spoiler. We are slowly getting answers to our burning questions but then more secrets are revealed. Relationships face the ultimate test but will they all survive. I can’t help but feel like we are building to one huge explosion in the final book but who will be the winners.
Book Four in an amazing must-read series
…and the playground politics continue. Rich vs. Poor, Power vs. the powerless. Those at the top of the food chain use people as pawns on their climb to the top of the power ladder, and these kids have been learning those lessons since kindergarten.
Getting to book four in a series where reading the first three is crucial to understanding what is going on, means that before the final book comes out, I’m going to have to, and most importantly, want to, re-read this series. Also, before these books, I hadn’t read the multi-character-POV and it is crucial to the plot of the book. I’m loving it.
If there was one character I’m beginning to have respect for, it’s Colt, and he’s developing a mature realisation that you can’t always control the world around you. It’s hard not to have an appreciation for his now albeit self-sacrificing character, and there was a time that I would’ve happily thrown him under the bus, but discovering ‘feelings’ is changing him, and they’re going to break him before he can rebuild a better man. It’s easy to forget that his initial damning behaviour contributed to the war of power and revenge between Arcadia and Riverbourne when we see how broken he actually is, and I still don’t know whether I could be as fully forgiving as the characters involved. The social issues that mill around in my head are unresolvable. Still, there is another book to go, and I have some re-reading to do in preparation!
Seriously, if there is one thing that I want to convince you of, it’s that I unreservedly recommend not only this book, but the entire series, because a series it is, and it must be read in order. I hear you say, ‘but I don’t read Young Adult’ and I reply to you, well neither do I, but Max Henry is an author who can pull a book together and have you gagging for more, regardless of the trope!!! Hell, this whole plot has more U-turns, twists and half-truths than a political party debate at election time! Money and reading time well spent I say. 5 Stars.
This series just keeps getting better and better!
The Aracadia High Anarchists are back and creating even more chaos in this sordid schoolyard battlefield that is LOYAL LOVE, the 4th book in the series.
Lacey and Tuck are at a stalemate and seemingly on opposing sides as we open this story; but as we’ve learnt in previous books, not only is nothing as it seems but everything can turn on a dial faster than you can turn the page!
Allegiances and loyalties are strained, torn and rebuilt as Lacey navigates life back at Arcadia High and her strained relationship with Tuck, whilst her cunning brother Colt sets himself a plan to bring the Riverside “Chosen” to knees and reset the order of power, as well as making amends for the wrong he has been so complicit in, all while fostering a growing attraction of his own.
Henry has woven this story so brilliantly and with great detail; the characters continue to develop and evolve, their interactions too are changing, and as we see the power shift we are also changing how we see them all as individuals as they grow and mature over the course of series.
It’s all coming together to build into what’s going to be an epic conclusion, I just can’t wait to get my hands on the next instalment! Write faster please Max Henry!!!
The Arcadia High Anarchists series has continued to intrigue and enthral me with each entertaining instalment and Loyal Love is an excellent addition.
I found with each thrilling page I began to further understand each character a little more, see how their relationships are coming along and understand their differences and backgrounds more clearly.
This instalment was filled with tension, angst and excitement. The characters have certainly grown and changed as the series has progressed. A terrific read.
I highly recommend this entertaining book!
Stuff is finally coming to a head in this book. Read today to find out answers to some of the burning questions and to see how the kids and parents are dealing with it all.
Not a lot can be said about this book without spoiling things, but I will say that this story tests/starts/repairs a lot of relationships.
Read on to find out who falls under what category.
This series is a must read.
