Some folks are born with a silver spoon jutting right out of their mouths. Others are a bit more like Miss Harmony King. That poor thing bounced in and out of so many foster homes growing up, that even my head spun circles trying to keep track of them all.Once Harmony hit eighteen, though, she disappeared from Charleston altogether. Fast forward nearly a decade, and now she’s back, bent over a … bent over a pew, and praying like her life depends on it. I’d reckon that just maybe it does.
Of course, I don’t know why this young woman left our town, and I don’t know why she’s come back now—but one thing I do know beyond the shadow of a doubt is that God meant for us to find each other again.
So I told Harmony the story of the special Chihuahuas born in our church’s nativity scene last Christmas Eve, and that our Muffin, in particular, wanted to help her if she’d let him. Yes, our church dogs have worked miracles before, and by the grace of the Almighty, I think they might just be about to perform another…

What a great story! The characters are wonderful and pull you into the story. I thought all the characters were so warm and loving, made me feel like I was part of the story. The author does a great job with adding the little dogs in and making you fall in love with them. This was a great story of hurt and healing that only comes through God’s love for us. Such a wonderful story!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
This was a sweet clean second chance romance, not second chance at love, but at life. Harmony King was a foster kid who no one wanted and was angry all the time. She just ran away from an abusive controlling relationship when she steps into Eternal Grace Church in her home town of Charleston to pray. Pastor Adam offers her that second chance through therapy Chihuahua Muffin. No one cared about Harmony, but now she has someone to care for and who will love her in return. Mrs. Clementine takes her in as a boarder and becomes a mother figure she never had. Nolan Murphy offers her a job in his restaurant O’Briens and later his heart. The dogs were so cute in this romance, but I wouldn’t have trusted someone without a job and a place to live with one. There was plenty of humor, suspense from the crazy ex, and romance.
I absolute Adore this Wonderful Series! It does not get much better than this. I just finished Little Loves (The Church Dogs of Charleston Book 2) by Melissa Storm. This series features a family of chihuahuas rescued on Christmas Eve in a snowstorm. They are rescued from a church manger by the pastor and they become “The Church Dogs” with a mission to help folks in need, as only dogs can. This is a terrific, fast, clean read. What makes this book so highly recommended is that it is a perfect blend of a story for dog lovers that also is a heartwarming tale of human redemption, healing and also includes a wonderful and caring pastor and his family. And do not worry, in addition to the chihuahua heroes, there is also a big, wonderful, humongous wolf hound too. And oh yes, did I mention romance and suspense? Something fr everyone!
Little Loves (The Church Dogs of Charleston #2) by Melissa Storm is one of my favorite books that I have read. Harmony Kings life changes when Pastor Adam loans Harmony one of the chihuahuas Muffin he is giving her something in her life she needs. It all starts with a love from Muffin that gives Harmony a life of love. Little Loves is such a heart warming uplifting story of learning to trust love and letting it in your heart. I received an ARC copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
HARMony is been running all her life. Always been the outsider as a foster child. But when she comes back to Charleston, running from a dangerous boyfriend, she can’t imagine that she will find love, friendshipand happiness with the help of a little but a very brave chihuahua named Muffin.
Very realistic, clean romance. Full of aww moments that really touched my heart. Nolan is such a gentlemen and so in tune to Harmony. I think she is tough on the outside rightly so due to her past experiences. Love this series, it’s amazing how the unconditional love of a pet helps the character blossom and grow in faith. I am voluntarily reviewing a free copy.
Inspirational story that can leave you teary eyed in some spots. Very realistic events here. A definite must read. I loved it!
This is a great book! Clean romance with lots of story line. I’ve read several books from this author and have not been disappointed in any of them! Recommend following and reading her books. You can’t bet romance and dogs combined!
I received an ebook and I am voluntarily giving my review.
Little Loves is a sweet, clean romance. It is also a story about finding your place in the world, acceptance and love.
Any story involving puppies has to be good!
I think that anyone who reads romances and women’s fiction would enjoy Little Loves.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I truly loved the feelings that are revealed during the reading of this book! There are laughter and tears, certainly but there are also many others. You feel so empathetic to Harmony who is a product of the foster care system. I’ve always felt a great deal of sympathy for those who go through that system and then age out, especially those who don’t have a good experience. Such is the case of Harmony. She just wants to belong to a family and feel loved. Isn’t that the case with every child that is born on this earth? I loved her story and the second chance that she gets! I love Pastor Adam and how he knows what she needs…..starting with a cute little dog named Muffin and a lonely older woman named Ginny! I enjoyed Nolan too. He was sweet and caring and, in one scene towards the end, really proved what kind of man he was! It is definitely a wonderful book worth reading!
Harmony comes back to the only place that felt like home to her. This book was sad when reading about her past and present. The pastor is back – love him and he has a mission for Muffin. We have a Muffin but she is a Boston Terrier – love her. Nolan is such a great guy and so patient with the sassy Harmony. Such a sweet romance but also a story about finding love from the One who matters the most.
Little Loves begins with a woman, Harmony King, returning to Charleston after a long absence. Harmony has nothing left but her faith. She is running from an abusive relationship and searching for a place to belong. I needed to read this book. Although this is fiction, Little Loves reminded me that God has a plan for all of His children, that He never leaves us and that He always answers our prayers. I know that this makes the book sound “preachy” or “blatantly religious”; it isn’t. The story is well written and very believable. I was so interested in the book that I had a hard time putting it down. The characters are fallible people who are trying to do what is right. The community worked together to provide for Harmony. Since Melissa Storm wrote this book, there is a great ending to the story. I received an ARC of Little Loves and I am glad that I did. I think that anyone who reads romances and women’s fiction would enjoy Little Loves.
Little Loves turns heartache into a revelation. There’s a little Harmony within us all. The vulnerable, the courage and the hope of something better has touched every heart at one time or another. Storm keeps the emotions relatable. She gets under the skin and into the heart with an adorable cast of characters that range from the four legged to the two legged variety. I laughed through the tears of this inspirational tale.
