Carolina Brown couldn’t be more different than her mama if she tried—and truthfully most of us believe she worked hard at precisely that. She worked hard at everything else, too, and set off to college to accomplish big things in the wide world. Unfortunately, God called her right back to Charleston when her mama suffered a near fatal accident that left her requiring round the clock care. Now that … care.
Now that poor young woman reckons her ambitions have reached a dead end. I say it’s just a sudden turn toward a new destination she can’t quite see yet. If Carolina is ever going to believe in herself enough to reach for happiness a second time, she’s going to need some outside encouragement.
It’s been a long time since she’s come round to the church, but that’s not going to stop me from coming round to her. Sometimes you’ve gotta meet people part-way, and sometimes you’ve gotta entrust them with one miracle so they can find the next for themselves.
I do believe Cupcake is the perfect Church Dog for the job. Now I’m sure you’re wondering, can one little Chihuahua fix two broken lives? Stick around and see for yourself.
LOWCOUNTRY LEGACY is a touching and poignant story from a New York Times bestselling author that will warm your heart, bless your soul, and leave you smiling.

This was a sweet, well-written story. Carolina is ready to do big things after doing well at college and earning an internship. Then her mom has an accident and Carolina needs to return home to Charleston. The pastor at her church thinks Cupcake, one of the Church Dogs, can help Carolina face this transition in her life. Carolina, the secondary characters and the Church Dogs were sweet and fun to read about. I enjoyed this book and would read others in the Church Dogs of Charleston series.
Hard knocks and life lessons are the heart of Dainty Darlings. Carolina finds strength in her weakest moments. Forced to abandon her dreams, she finds heart in the form a charmer named Cupcake. Darlings blends realistic drama with heartwarming humor. Storm is an ace when it comes to true emotion. She puts her heart in each story she writes and that’s an appealing asset to storytelling.
I am loving this Church Dogs of Charleston series! Carolina thought she had her life planned out but her mother was in a terrible accident so Carolina heads back home to Charleston, SC to take care of her. The church pastor comes by with little Cupcake, a chihuahua, to keep them company. There are many life changes for Carolina and her mother but the little therapy dog proves to be a huge blessing. This is a fantastic standalone story!
I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
Once again one of the church chihuahuas has worked his magic. Melissa Storm has also worked her magic with the characters in this book. Pastor Adam, Abigail, Jolene, Carolina and Levi come together to give Jolene a new life without the use of her legs and to help Carolina that life doesn’t have to be written in ink, it can be pencil and erased when changes are needed. I loved this story.
Wonderful Christian romance for anyone who loves dogs and believes in their miracles
I just finished Dainty Darlings (The Church Dogs of Charleston Book 3) by Melissa Storm . This is a lovely book about God’s miracles and love sent to folks by way of a tiny bundle of joy (a chihuahua). The book is a fast and enjoyable read. It tells the story of a mother and daughter brought closer by a tragic accident. Along the way they reinventing new happiness and new relationships. I highly recommend this book. It is wonderful for anyone who enjoys a clean, Christian romance and for anyone who loves dogs and believes in their miracles.
What a great story. I thought this story was going to be sad and depressing but it was uplifting and full of hope. I loved that characters from the other books were in this book and that is why my heart ached when I realized who Jolene was. I also loved that Jolene turned her accident ” into a new adventure and not an obstacle.” I am not sure I could do that. It seemed so realistic that Carolina would feel guilty about her mother’s accident since her mother was coming to visit her when she had the car accident that caused her to be paralyzed.
I loved how faith and the community were woven into the story as well. Jolene had all of the congregation’s hopes, love, and prayers. What an uplifting character she is.
I also enjoyed Muffin, one of the miracle chihuahuas from the Eternal Grace church. Muffin brought so much hope into Jolene and Carolina’s hearts. It was amazing to hear about the Walk and Stroll and Jolene having a new job and her wheelchair doggy bed idea too. This is a great story. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Melissa Storm = love, animals, God and funny stories.
This series is a 6 star.
The characters go through different situations and handle them well as the story progresses.
The plot is so engaging with the challenges they face and overcome.
I can’t wait for the next book.
Dainty Darlings is the latest Book in this delightful series but can be read as a stand-alone. Carolina Brown is about to start her first day as an intern in Washington D.C. when she gets the news that her mother Jolene has been in a serious accident. Returning to Charleston she soon realises that she needs to stay and help. Pastor Adam, Abigail, Harriet and a host of other people rally round and it is decided that church dog Cupcake is the one to help this family. The church dogs are charming and delightful service dogs that know exactly what they need to do. This Book is packed full of faith, hope, wonderful characters and small town charm however I cannot give it five stars. Jolene’s recovery time and her acceptance of her new situation is so unrealistic. I know this is fiction but some more research into new wheelchair users would have made all the difference. Despite this Dainty Darlings is a good book and part of a wonderful series.
These little dogs sure do win your heart over every time. Sweet book Miracles happen every day can another one happen for Jolene? Carolina had accepted an internship in DC when she got some bad news and need to return home to her mother. When she returns home her mother is in a medically induced coma. when they wake her up both their world are turned upside down. Why does Levi have to be so insistent? Abigail happens to have a Chihuahua with her at the hospital Could Jolene and Carolina use one of the pups to help the heal?

DAINTY DARLINGS is the third book in the Church Dogs of Charleston series. Each will stand completely on its own, but I highly recommend reading them all and in the order of release. In particular, the first one should be read first.
Another sweet romance that is just right for allowing me to breath. Yes, there is drama and angst, but I didn’t feel like it was adding to the stress of my day. This time, the story was as much, if not more, about the love between mother and daughter as it was about the budding relationship between Carolina and Levi.
Wonderful characters, amazing town, and sweet dogs make Sweet Grove a place I always want to visit.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about the church Chihuahua’s and how they all became therapy dogs. This one about Cupcake and how he helped Carolina and Jolene through the tragic Jolene goes through. The small town comes together to help because it was the right thing anyone would do.
A really sweet and inspirational read about a mom and daughter’s bond as well as a romance. Levi was such a sweet guy who is sweet on Carolina. Loved how mom was a matchmaker. Cupcake has a dual role as a comfort to both mother and daughter. I voluntarily read a copy given to me by the author.
What do you do when your life is turned upside down? Especially when you have planned you’re every aspect of your life and things change in an instant. This is what happens in Dainty Darlings, the third book in the Church Dogs of Charleston Series. The writer, Melissa Storm, wrote a very thought provoking and emotional book [you definitely need to have tissues nearby]. I really liked this book. I found the characters to be very “human” as they dealt with their daily struggles. I was encouraged as the story progressed as I watched God working miracles in everyone’s life. I received an advanced copy of the book and I am grateful for that opportunity.
It’s all about love
I think this was the best one in this series yet. A sweet romance that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. With the help of the church, and a Chihuahua named Cupcake, Carolina finds her path in life. Cupcake stole the show! A heartwarming, wonderful story with lots of depth and hope. And light, and faith. And ultimately: love.
A very cute read that leaves you feeling happy. Wonderful characters including the dogs who are a big part of this story. Melissa Storm takes unhappy situations and writes stories from them. The story teaches that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel if we just believe God Loves us and won’t leave us in that situation. I really enjoy her books!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
What a lovely book with a great storyline.
This well-crafted, clean and very thoughtful, uplifting story
A great read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I needed tissues, this story has tears of sadness and joy throughout. I’m a lot like Carolina, life planned out, but obstacles happen. I love order, organization, notes, to be done list, check marks, etc. I am an introvert.
Carolina’s balance has the name Jolene, Mama, friend to many & is a loving person. With the help of Pastor Adam, Abigail, Harmony, Levi, the townspeople, of course Cupcake, and eventually her faith, life starts falling into place without all the must have plans. She gives herself permission to explore life around her, in her relationship to grow with Levi & continue her education, while still staying close to Mama & watch her new adventure grow.
Carolina is back in Charleston after her mother ‘s car accident. Jolene, a woman’s full of life, is now stuck in a wheelchair and they both need to figure out their present and their future. Cupcake, a chihuahua service dog, will help them find happiness and love again. An inspiring story.
Dainty Darlings (The Church Dogs of Charleston #3) by Melissa Storm is a heartwarming story. Carolina Brown is starting her dream internship in D C when her mom Jolene has a terrible car accident. Guilt ridden Carolina returns home to Charleston to take care of her mom. Paster Adam, his daughter Abigail, and the community are there to help both Carolina and Jolene. Cupcake the church miracle dog is enlisted to assist Carolina and Jolene when Jolene leashes the hospital. Dainty Darlings is uplifting sweet story and a truly wonderful story to read. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review of it.
As a chihuahua mama myself, I love the Church dogs of Charleston! In Dainty Darlings, Cupcake gets to help two women. This book is another sweet story from Melissa Storm who writes books I love to read. Carolina, her Mom Jolene, Levi, Pastor Adam and all the folks at Eternal Grace Church feel like family. When Jolene cannot return to waitressing, she finds other activities to fill her days – especially with Cupcake’s help. You will not want to miss any of these chihuahua’s stories.
