The Charleston streets are dressed for the holidays in sophisticated Southern style: topiaries adorned with red ribbons, garland entwined with white lights, and poinsettias potted in gold planters. The high class bordello in a stately historic home is certainly no exception. When Private Investigator Liz Talbot’s dear friend Olivia swears she saw a dead body in the parlor of this bordello, one … bordello, one Olivia accidentally co-owns, Liz promptly comes to her aid.
With her wedding back home on Stella Maris less than a week away, Liz must juggle one elderly madam, two ex and future in-laws, three ghosts in the bordello, four giddy bridesmaids, five lovely courtesans, six suspicious patrons…and a partridge in a pear tree as she tries to keep her bridesmaid out of jail and live to walk down the aisle.

LOWCOUNTRY BORDELLO by Susan M. Boyer | A Henery Press Mystery. If you like one, you’ll probably like them all.

This was a fun read that captured my attention immediately. Though it is the fourth in a series, I had no trouble getting into it and now I’m looking forward to reading the previous ones!
I love ALL Susan Boyer books. This may be my favorite of this series. BUT they are all good and a must on your reading list.
I really enjoy this series and this one did not disappoint. This series should be read in order. Colleen makes an appearance once again as she helps Liz and Nate solve more than one murder. There is a lot going on in this book. There are many crimes and lots of suspects and characters. The investigation takes place just a few days before Liz’s and Nate’s Wedding so it is rushed. Even though they are keeping secrets about their investigation I like it that they work with the police. The mystery is good and the characters are lots of fun as always. I am looking for word to reading about what happens next to Liz and Nate. Enjoy this latest in this series and it makes a fun Christmas read.
Each Liz book get better and better and let me just say I am in awe of Liz. She is a dynamic powerhouse! Bordello was fantastic! I was still guessing and doubting who the real killer was all the way until the end! I am very happy that Nate and Liz are finally married, too! Great job Susan M Boyer!
It’s a good read
The series of books are fun to read. I get done with one book, and I’m ready to start with the next book.
This is my one of my favorite mystery series! It’s filled with proper Southern characters and lots of Charleston charm. While I suppose you don’t have to read this series in order, it will make more sense if you do. You will appreciate relationships, dialogue, and the characters much more by having the needed background information.
Liz and Nate are just days away from their much-anticipated wedding. They’re just finishing up a case and are about to focus entirely on their big weekend. Then, Liz gets a frantic call from Olivia, her BFF. Liz hurries to Charleston from Stella Maris to help her friend, but before anyone realizes it, Olivia is arrested on murder charges. Liz and Nate both know she’s not guilty, but they don’t have much time to find out who really committed murder.
This entire story takes place over five days. I love how the author takes the reader through the thought processes of her characters. Once again, Colleen is integral in solving the mystery. Colleen also has a surprise for Liz and Nate at the very end….. Be sure to have your hand sanitizer while reading this series, you’ll have irresistible urges to use it.

I am a fan of this author and I wait for a new book to Co e out! I got to read about familiar characters and a new situation for them. There is mystery, romance and humor. A very good read.
Enjoyed this author. Will definitely look for more.
I enjoyed the book immensely. Have vacationed in the area several times so I always like to read about places where I have been.
Like the series
Good story. I’m from Charleston so I recognize all the names, places and eccentricities. It was entertaining with a couple of twists. I would definitely read some more of her stories.
Great series. Love all of these books so far. But I would start at the very beginning so you can understand the characters and what is happening / has happened. They are mysteries that Liz has to solve. Family is quirky but fun.
Page turner, entertaining, and southern humor.
Love her books, have read all in series
