USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR and AGATHA AWARD-WINNING SERIESSomebody pushed Shelby Poinsett out her second-floor library window and it wasn’t her husband. At least that’s what Charleston’s most prestigious law firm wants Liz Talbot to prove. Liz must run the spectrum of Southern society, from the local homeless shelter where Shelby volunteered to the one-hundred-year-old book club where … where Charleston’s genteel ladies are dying to join, to bring a killer to justice.

As usual, Susan M Boyer did not disappoint! I could not put Lowcountry Book Club down. I was guessing “who did it” until the very end. Liz still amazes me and her family definitely cracks me up! I can’t wait until the next book.
Another great book in a wonderful series. Characters are so defined that each time a new book comes out, it is like catching up with old friends! If you have not read this series, grab book one, settle in & let Susan Boyer introduce you to the low country!
This is a fun series. I have enjoyed each book.
I love this series! I never know who did it. Rare for me.
Another Mystery South of Broad!
Lowcountry Book Club, author Susan M. Boyer’s 5th installment in the Liz Talbot Mystery Series, was once again a page turning mystery I couldn’t figure out till murderer and motive were revealed!
This episode contains everything you’ve come to expect from Liz and friends: a mysterious murder bringing Liz’s investigation south of Broad; several unexpected suspects and motives – this time including the members of an exclusive women’s book club, who take their bylaws very serious; helping hands from Blake, Sonny, and Colleen; a fairly predictable yet hilarious antic from her father; and of course a good dose of sizzle between Liz and Nate.
Notably new this time around is a possible romance for Blake, a very important revelation from Colleen, and so much more!
I think one of the draws to this series, for me, besides the fun characters and story plots, are the beautiful pictures of Charleston and surrounding areas Boyer somehow paints with her words. While reading this particular story, I was reminded of my move to Florida several years ago. I could have driven straight through from Virginia Beach to Tampa but since I was driving alone and had not been through this area before, I took a friend’s offer to stop for the night at their Murrells Inlet home.
Leaving the next morning about an hour before sunrise and following rt17, well if you know the area, you know the spectacle I was about to encounter. The sun was just beginning to rise as the Arthur Ravenel Jr bridge came into sight. I had to pull off the road for a few moments, just to take it in. It was a beautiful sight I had filed away in my memory until Liz’s description of it brought the images back in all their glory.
Each episode paints pictures of gorgeous lowcounrty sights and sounds, bringing back memories of ones I’ve been lucky enough to experience, and somehow creating those I have not.
I loved the ‘book club’ element of this story, and am so very happy my book club is light and easy and nothing too serious! I look forward to the next installment, #6 Lowcountry Bonfire. No telling what fun and fire this one might entail!
Great beach read! Lots of fun with wonderful characters you will want to see again and again!
I was given an ARC to preview. I LOVED it!! It might be my favorite Liz Talbot mystery yet!! It was exciting and mysterious! This book had you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! I tried playing detective along with Liz to figure out who the perpetrator was, but I couldn’t!! Once again, Susan has riveted my attention! I have shared all the other Liz Talbot books with my friends and family!! They can’t wait to read this one!! Susan, keep writing about Liz Talbot and all her mysteries because I absolutely enjoy them!!
Excellent!
Enjoyed. Read all in the series. All are good
While this one is more likely 3.5 stars, I’ll gladly bump it to 4 because this series, in general, is good. Lowcountry Book Club is my least favorite of the series. It still had everything you’d expect in a Liz Talbot Mystery, just a bit lower key. Nate and Liz have been married for five months when they get a call from a high power defense attorney. The attorney is sure that his client, Clint, has been wrongfully accused of murdering his wife but there aren’t any other suspects. The PI that had been working the case has come up with nothing and time is running out. Clint and his attorney are getting desperate.
Liz and Nate are sure that Clint isn’t the bad guy, but they’ve only got days to prove it. As usual, they kick things into high gear and set out to solve the murder mystery. The usual cast of characters (Liz’s wacky, but wonderful, family) is on hand to lend a hand any way they can. There are a few characters of the four-legged variety that are featured in this one which adds to the fun.
Loved it- made me feel as if I was there
Really enjoyable book
Will read more by this author
Love this series. Can’t wait for the next book
I love this whole series. Author did a great job of developing all characters. Easy to read books with a twist of mystery and intrigue. Always looking forward to the next book!
A fun easy read book… really enjoyed the series. Loved the setting and the characters
This is a series that I totally enjoy especially since it takes place in the low-country which is where I live and enjoy reading about.
This book took on the traditions of old Southern cliques. I read it in a couple days and liked the mystery of “whodunit”. I’ve read all or almost all the low country books. I have enjoyed each one.
After joining three different book clubs of course I had to read a mystery about a book club. Easy read.
Was looking for more of a mystery than a romance novel. It did keep me guessing as to what really happened. The usual dimwitted sheriff etc.
