Boom! Pow! A serious knockout by Kristin!
Who would have thought that the son who wasn’t cut out for the ice would be a winner in the ring. Griffin Hayes is the younger brother of The New York Otters captain Gavin Hayes, who feels as though he lives a little in the shadows. Not just the shadow of his brother’s fame or his father’s disappointment, but of his own expectations and the feeling that he owes someone to make the most of his life, but he isn’t sure how. On this search Griffin meets Olive and his heart beats faster and harder than he has ever experienced and he knows things are just RIGHT. Dive in and see the sparks fly in this fantastic, hard hitting romance.
This book gives you hope in a happy ever after. With great characters that have depth and history. This is a shorter story but you feel like you have known the characters and are rooting for them to get the happiness they deserve.
When Griffin was 16 a harmless punch led to a heart infection and suddenly he needs a heart transplant to live. It is a devastating situation to be in as you hope for a heart and at the same time you know that for you to receive a heart someone else has to die. Ten years later he still hasn’t gotten over the guilt, so he decides to meet the donor’s adult daughter.
Olive was 14 when her Dad passed away and she still feels a void to this day. She works as a mechanic out of her dad’s garage and was beyond shocked to see the recipient of his heart.
From the moment they met they had an instant connection and they both finally feel whole but is it enough to over the pain of the past?
This is an emotional story of appreciating every day and every moment you have with your loved ones.
This was a quick read with no bs and i enjoyed it. In some cases I wish it was a little longer. There were even times I got tears in my eyes. I would recommend this book.
Loved this book. Griff and Liv were perfect together. I loved that they had that instant connection. Great love story!!
A very original and unique story and also my first read from Kristen Hope Mazzola. A young boxer, Griffin, needs a heart transplant when he is 16! The donor is the father of 14 year old Olive when he is killed in an accident at work. Fast Forward ten years when Griffin seeks out Olive to thank her and show her how much her father’s sacrifice has meant to him and others. Sparks ignite when these two meet and there is an incredible pull to each other. Tissues are a must!

I loved this book! Now I need to go back and read the rest of the series. Griffin and Olive were so perfect and made me cry but it was worth it.
Low Blow is a quick and easy read about a man and a woman who have more of a connection than anyone could imagine. Griffin and Olive are dealt hard blows early in life. Their bond is instant once they meet. I love how they don’t waste time in getting to know each other. Their feelings are valid, and their moments together are hot.
The author brings in characters from previous stories, but Low Blow can be read as a standalone. Low Blow is easily a one sitting read so one-click it today.
Oh lord I loved this book!!! Even though I was crying in the first bit of it!! But even though this is a short read this book packs a punch. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down and I really didn’t want it to end. I mean I’ll tell you right now how much I didn’t want it to end, you know those sucky people that take Stars way for stupid reasons like they didn’t want it to end ( not long enough) yeah if I was one of those people that is how bad I wanted this book to continue with Griff and Liv…. lol . And the connection that Griff and Liv have from the very beginning, gahhh I just love it, I just loved all of it. Most of the secondary characters I absolutely loved even the ones I didn’t played their purpose. I really can’t wait to meet them in their books. I highly recommend this book!!
This is the first book I’ve read in this series. As this is Book # 4, I was a bit afraid that I was going to be lost with the cross-over characters. That was NOT the case. I was able to follow along never wondering about someone else’s backstory or motivation.
This is a quick read that is low on drama and high on romance and friendship. Insta-love, insta-family and having each other’s back is the name of the game in this book.
I will absolutely be going back to read the other books in the Shots on Goal Series.
This is such a good story. Both Griffin and Olive have been through so much. I loved the characters so much. You will need tissues to get through this story!
Low Blow is a great fast paced quick read. It’s the 4th book in the series and can be read as a standalone. Told in both Liv and Griffin’s POV.
The writing is great and sucks you into the story.
Both Liv and Griffin are missing something in their lives. Neither knows what it is. Until Griffin walks into Liv’s shop.
I enjoyed Low Blow. It was a very quick read with an HEA.
won an ARC of this book free from the author. I hadn’t read any books in this series and because I just couldn’t read this one without going back and reading first 3, I went and bought those and read first. You don’t have too. They are all standalone books with HEA endings. I love this series it is so good. Griff and Liv are my favorite though. And I just loved the epilogue! Awesome job Kristen
Griffin Hayes was living the life of a normal teenager. At age 16, he is on his way to winning the state championship for boxing. All it took was one hit to break a rib and change his life forever . . .
Olive’s life changed in a heartbeat when her father was fatally injured while working. With only a moment to say her goodbyes, Liv must learn to live her life without the only parent she had ever really known.
Ten years later, Griffin is struggling to find real meaning in his life. Even though he is the middleweight champion of the world and uses his winnings and celebrity status to help fundraise for charity, he feels like he should be doing more with his second chance at life, as he feels survivor’s guilt that someone had to die for him to have their heart. Trying to move forward, Griff decides to find the daughter of the man whose death saved his life.
Olive, now a successful mechanic with her own shop, struggles with relationships and letting people into her heart. Other than her best friend, Shaw, Liv keeps herself closed off so that she doesn’t have to worry about losing anyone she loves again. Things quickly change, however, the moment Griffin Hayes walks into her shop. What should be a completely weird situation swiftly grows into a relationship that neither Griff or Liv realized they wanted or needed. Now all they need to do is find a way to make it work.
Kristen Hope Mazzola did an amazing job with this story. I loved that fate intertwined the lives of Griffin and Olive ten years before they ever came face to face. I could completely identify with Liv’s fear of losing people she loves and shutting herself off to others to maintain her safety net of emotions. I can also understand the difficulty Griff has with feeling guilty that he is alive only because someone died . . . even though it was not his fault. This story feels very real, and the emotions the main characters’ deal with are genuinely written.
This was a great addition to the Shots on Goal series! 4.5 stars.
