He’s a big tough mountain man who doesn’t need anyone … until he met her. Ledger Price spends his days doing what he loves–hiking, fishing, hunting, and exploring the mountains around his hometown of Tamarack Ridge, Montana, all while filming for his popular MyHeartChannel, Montana Mountain Man. The only downside is his daughter, Aubrey, who loves to come on his excursions, but also yearns for … also yearns for someone with a feminine touch. But Ledger is not relationship material; he tried with Aubrey’s mom and discovered marriage is not worth giving up his freedom.
Brynn Ramsey is building a successful career as a real estate agent to the wealthy in San Clemente, California. Sure, it’s stressful, but Brynn figures it’s all part of paying her dues. When she starts having debilitating panic attacks, her mentor sends her home to Tamarack Ridge for some R&R. It’s only supposed to be for six weeks and then she’ll be back to the sunny beaches of Southern California. But when she reconnects with Ledger, her dreams begin to shift from palm trees to pines.
As their relationship grows more serious, Brynn and Ledger have to make a choice. Is love worth any sacrifice?

Loving the Mountain Man by Jeanette Lewis
My rating is 4.5 Stars
Ledger was such a mountain man. It was so cool how he loved to do everything himself; to live off the land. Oh, and he was protective as well. I enjoyed picturing him making his videos – somehow the contrast between the he-man persona and the techie camera/video editor was funny to me. He could hunt and fish and make homemade fruit rolls, but he couldn’t braid his daughter’s hair. Or provide the woman’s touch that she needed. Being the loner that he was, he also didn’t really know how to be in a relationship.
Reading Loving the Mountain Man made me think back on favorite camping trips. It also reminded me of the (completely irrational) fear I had that my parents might divorce when I was younger. (It wasn’t that they fought or anything like that. I think it was the shock of finding out that some parents actually did that.) The story was a sweet, emotional journey. It was just the right length for the story, not too short and not too drawn out and overly dramatic.

I would like to thank Jeanette Lewis for giving me this copy of the book. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.
When the choice seems too tough to decide, just what is most important?
Brynn is building a successful real estate career in California, until she begins have terrible panic attacks, and is sent home to relax. Ledger has a burgeoning YouTube channel, where he shows videos on fishing, hunting, hiking, etc. They bump into each other when she is helping her dad at his store, and, well—one thing leads to another. After a couple of weeks, she realizes she hasn’t had a panic attack since she returned home. Plus, she is falling for Ledger and his young daughter. What should she do? This is a book that you may have trouble putting down, as you fall for the characters, the location, and you want to see how things work out. I recommend it as a really good faith-based romance.
Montana Mountains and Romance
This is a sweet and clean love story set against the Montana Rockies. I enjoyed it greatly. The characters were believable and had depth. The mountain and outdoors scenes were believable and accurate. I will continue reading this author’s work. I received this book for free and voluntarily chose to post my honest review.
What a wonderful book! I really liked Ledger and Brynn! (Isn’t Ledger a great name for a mountain man!) Their re-meet was hilarious! Oh, Brynn! They had great chemistry and complimented each other well. The struggles between them were real, but so were their feelings. It all led to such a sweet, romantic ending. And there’s an epilogue! Love those!
I always enjoy Jeanette Lewis’s books! There is an easy, natural flow to her writing and to the stories she tells. They really pull me in and take me away, and usually cause me to lose some sleep. 🙂
I received a complimentary copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.
This is yet another Jeanette Lewis book where the characters walk off the page and right into your heart. Loving the Mountain Man is a great story with awesome characters. I loved all of the family dynamics in this story – Ledger and his adorable daughter Aubrey, Brynn and her parents AND her brother – who also happens to be a long-time friend to Ledger! This was the first A MyHeartChannel Romance that I’ve read and I can’t wait to read more. I especially can’t wait to read the next Tamarack Ridge book! If you have a book 1, there has to be a book 2 coming, right?!?!
Loving the Mountain Man is a clean, contemporary romance. Self-sufficient single dad Ledger and California real estate agent Brynn seem to be an odd couple, but I really wanted that HEA for them. Ledger’s daughter adds tenderness to the story. I enjoyed this well-written novel. I would recommend this to friends and will definitely read more of Jeanette Lewis’s work.
I was given an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
