I loved this story! Asald was so cute. He was like a kid in a candy store seeing how the world progressed since he was born waaaay back. Penny is so caring, but a bit insecure when it comes to men. 13 dates and not one panned out. Until Asald. I really liked how Alex, one of the shelter kids, was the first to see “the Birdman”. When Asald fixed Penny breakfast and set a place for “Frank” my heart melted. Penny was so in love with Asald that she stood up to a demon. She was fierce right then. I definitely recommend this book.
Nice prequel to the Black Hollow series!! Nice to see a heroine version of a book! A must add to your TBR list!!

This is the story of Penny and Asald. She works at a women’s shelter and Asald is a gargoyle who has vowed to protect these women. I enjoyed this story as Penny realizes that what she thought was just a statue is something totally different. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
Penelope works at a women’s shelter and retreats to the roof to decompress in the arms of a gargoyle she has named “Fred.”
Asald has been imprisoned for decisions of his past, but things may change when Penelope enters his life. The Black Hollow series is one of my favorites and I enjoyed Loving The Monster Within.

Black Hollow: Loving the Monster Within is an entertaining read about gargoyle Asald and Penny who works at the battered women shelter. The storyline is well written and interesting and the characters are well defined. Can love change him back to a human or is he destined to remain a gargoyle?

This was an awesome book that I really enjoyed. The story and characters grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading. I loved Characters and them grow together, they were well written and went well together. I found this book amazing with great word building making me feel apart of the story and watching it unfold in front of me. A definite must read for any fan and I can’t wait to read more from this author!!!

Imagine ….. on the roof of the shelter where you work are several stone statues. In your breaks you go to the roof and share your thoughts and emotions with 1 of these images. Talking about the things that concern you and that you cannot share with others relieves you. Then, the moment you fight for your life and that of a child, this stone statue comes to life !! Wow, what a start to a story !! Asald (Gargoyle) and Penny (human) fall in love.
A wonderful story where your imagination is put to work.

This was an ok read for me but not one that i was so invested in that i couldn’t put it down. I liked the storyline thought, i’m a fan of gargoyles stories, but i’m not sure yet if i want to continue this series. You should still try it for yourself, maybe this will be a great read for you!!

Good start to the series
Loving the Monster Within” is a prequel in the “Black Hollow” series. It was a good series starter with some history on characters who will be the MC in other Black Hollow books. This is a quick read and I immediately went into book 2 “Reviving Love”. Read together it’s a perfect balance and a more complete story. I loved meeting Penny and Asald the MCs and it was interesting to also meet Sarah and Alex, Sarah’s son, both of who will be in a future book I’m sure. This was a good read and works as the prequel to the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This is a quickie….but the gargoyles are sexy as sin and the women that they love need them. This story will leave you amazingly satisfied.

This read like a bedtime fairy tale to me. Not enough depth of character, time or place. Take out the (very little) sex and you have a young adult short story. I read the book in an couple of hours and when I was finished the characters had already disappeared from my head.

Some things don’t change with time. The ability to love and the ability to do harm have existed across the ages. Humans can be the most monstrous of beings and that hasn’t changed. Asald sold his soul for love and was cursed for angering the demon who held his leash for centuries. Penny sees the results of human monsters every day at work at the womens shelter and still manages to keep a loving heart. When these two meet the definition of monster may change for you as well.
This is a really sweet tale that will leave you with a happy heart.
