She is the laird’s daughter, promised to another.
Nia Matheson can’t bear the thought of marrying the cruel warlord Morcant MacKay. Not when her visions promise her a man of masterful strength tempered with caring and kindness. But what if he’s not real? What if he’s just a man of dreams and wishes? Even though her visions have never failed her before, she dare not wait for him any longer. She has to escape her rapidly approaching wedding day. But the MacKay threatens to destroy her clan if she doesn’t meet him at the altar.
When the worlds of immortal and mortal collide, can love rise above it all?
If Nia chooses Alec, she must leave her world behind. For once a mortal enters the Glen of Bruadair, there is no leaving. What happens when the worlds of immortal and mortal collide with force! 5 stars
Again, Maeve Greyson didn’t disappoint me with her new fantasy novella titled ‘Loving the Lady of Skye’. It’s set in Scotland and Glen of Bruadair, an immortal world, where both worlds collide with force for the hero and heroine. It was an afternoon delight! I could not put down this lovely Scottish legend with a touch of fantasy!
Alec Danann, Seelie prince of the Tairgsean, is forbidden to leave the safety of the glen. He is the son of immortal Lady Serysa, Queen of Tairgsean and of a mortal warrior. He has to choose any female of the thirteen kingdoms to be his mate but falls for a mortal named Nia. There’s only one problem. His mother the queen forbids consorting with mortals, specially Nia who is promised to the cruel warlord Morcant MacKay. Will the queen give him the permission to bring Nia home to his world? Is history repeating itself? If she escapes and follow her vision, the MacKay will harm her clan. But if she follows her dream and choose Alec, she might get a chance to love a man of her own choosing. Which world will Nia choose? Immortal? Mortal?

Alec Danann, prince royal of the Tairgsean Seelie is forbidden to leave the safety of the glen. Mortal Nia Matheson is the laird’s daughter, promised to marrying the cruel warlord Morcant MacKay. Alec has one plan in mind when he steps into her mortal world and that’s to save her and take her back to his world. The road is fraught with obstacles as Alec’s heart is set on the one mortal he can never have as a wife. How can such a powerful love be wrong? A captivating novella with a great story of love overcoming many trials and obstacles to find their HEA!!! I have voluntarily read and reviewed this amazing story.
Holy moly! This short story totally kept me enthralled until the very end. It was a very fast paced historical romance filled with magic, love, danger, and some unexpected twists. And I loved every minute of it. I’m just hoping this novella will lead to a whole series with this interesting world Maeve Greyson has created.
*I voluntarily read an advance copy of this story*
Be still my heart…..this was such an enchanting story to read and written in a way as only Maeve Greyson can. I loved the story, I loved the characters, I loved the description of the Glen of Bruadair and I even loved Finnie the cat! lol Being a novella, it’s amazing how much love and enchantment can be held within 200 pages.
Alec and Nia are fated to be together but the road to their HEA is not an easy one. Alec is an immortal Seelie while Nia is a mortal who is betrothed to an evil man. When he steps foot in her mortal world, he has only one plan in mind, to save her and bring her back to his world. There are enemies in the way, though, and I have to admit, I needed some tissues at one scene, my heart just broke.
Very well written and the story certainly brings you in a fantasy world that you can’t help but get lost in. It’s always been on my bucket list to visit the Isle of Skye and now I really want to go visit the fairy pools and listen close….:)
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Fantasy and Scottish Highlanders. Good characters and story line. A good read, though not what I was expecting. Love the book’s cover. 3 1/2 stars.
I received this ebook as a ARC for my honest opinion, as I don’t usually read this kind of book,I didn’t know what my reaction would be.To my surprise I really enjoyed the story and the people in the story, it is in the year 1376 and Prince Alec Danann is trying to convince his mother the Queen (Lady Serysa) to let him leave the Glen of Bruadair so he can meet Nia Matheson. He has been watching her when she comes to her grandfather’s grave. Nia is the Lairds daughter and is promised to Mordant Mac Kay,a very cruel War Lord! Alec says he loves Nia and wants to bring her back to live with him.Nia has visions and makes the story very interesting to read,I found myself engrossed in this exciting story,it is not very long so an easy read. As always Maeve Greyson has wrote a wonderful ebook,I would recommend it you enjoy books about Seelie and a love story also to get this book.Keep my interest to see how it would turn out.
