From USA Today bestselling author KL Donn comes the all new Uncontrolled Heroes series where the heroes took over and decided they all get a little lovin’.
Beckett Larrabee was always the quiet sibling. He watched the world around him while his brother took over the world, or their slice of Long Beach anyway. He liked fixing bikes, riding along the Pacific Coast Highway and watching the sun set … Coast Highway and watching the sun set off a pier on the beach.
When he catches a glimpse of a girl dancing in the sand, a bright tutu around her waist, he becomes transfixed. Obsessed. Determined to find out her name, he follows her.
Royal Sullivan has a stalker on a motorbike. Big, tattooed, and handsome, she shouldn’t be feeling anything for him but scared. Except…he makes her heart pound rapidly in her chest.
He makes her forget she’s ruined.
Beckett is addicted.
Royal is intrigued.
All that’s left is to love the girl in the tutu, but is there a future once Royal’s tragic past is revealed?
Falling in love isn’t always planned and when you least expect it, your heart decides for you. Come on over to Long Beach, California to find out who falls in love, who gets naughty on the beach and if family truly is everything.

This book was so wonderful! It had me reaching for tissues, a time or two. And this is why KL Donn is a favorite of mine.
Beckett likes to decompress at the beach. On one trip he spots a girl dancing in a tutu, and she calls to him in a way no one else has.
Royal feels like, her whole life has been nothing but an after thought. Nobody sees her, only what she can provide. Until she meets Beckett, and she’s finally seen.
For such a short story it packed quite a punch.
This is a beautifully written poignant story. It brought tears to my eyes and left me hungover for a bit. Beck knows what he wants and that’s Royal. But Royal is more than just a regular young woman. This was a touching conclusion to this series. I’m definitely going to reading it over and over again.
I have to start off with saying that I have been following this author since almost the beginning and she has put me through the emotions before but this book I cried so much! I cried sad tears, frustration tears and happy tears. You have such wonderful hero in this book who is so encouraging and very Alpha which the heroine needs. In this book you have Royal who is not appreciated in her family and has to stand up for herself to her family for the first time in her whole life. You have Beckett who is just getting though life day to day until he sees the girl in the tutu on the beach. Both of their lives change after that but its is a rough road ahead. This book is so worth the emotional rollercoaster you go. I highly recommend it if you want a quick read that will captivate you.
Arc for honest review This was such a intense/ emotional read from beginning to end . There were moments I felt like my heart was being ripped right out of my chest . It did not take very long for me to completely fall in love with both Royal and Beckett . I literally had a box of tissues in my lap while reading this beautiful book . This is so much more than just a love story . It’s also about family , and the love between sisters , and being there for the people you love . I was completely blown away and most definitely not prepared for all the different emotions that I would be feeling -OMG , what a rollercoaster ride , in the best way possible . Loving the girl in the tattoo, can be read as a standalone, but I would absolutely suggest starting with the first book in the series . K.L Donn is a spectacular writer . You really don’t want to miss this wonderful series .
Holy moly…is all I have to say about this one. You need this series and you need this book in your life. Its gonna take me a hot minute to get over this one. I can count on one hand the amount of books that made feel this way, and this one…yea, it’s gonna take me a minute. Your heart will break for Royal but somehow Beck patches it all back up again in a neat little package. 5
KL Donn is the only author that can break my heart and put it back together again. Loving the Girl in the Tutu did this right from the first paragraph. Royal’s story is filled with pain and loneliness and Beckett is the one bright spot in all of it. He sees an opportunity to finally get to know this girl and he doesn’t hesitate to go all in. He has no doubts about this girl he has seen dancing on the beach, no doubt about her or the place she holds in his heart. Such a beautiful love story in several ways, it left me in tears with a smile on my face. All the stars for Beckett and Royal!
This story wrecked me. It was emotional, beautiful and heartbreaking but I loved it.
Beckett Larrabee is the younger brother of Cade, he along with Cade, and Jace run a business named Controlled Bikes, he’s the detailer of the business and that has led him to do specialty paint jobs outside of bikes because his detailing and painting are so good. At twenty-nine years old, he’s ready to find his better half and start a life the same as his brother their friend Jace has. He’s ready for more in his life than the business and his painting.
Royal Sullivan has had a life of medical procedures. Born into a family that is well off, she’s rarely felt any love or caring from her parents. She was born for one reason and when she reaches the age of twenty, she’s ready to be done with it. She hasn’t lived her life, but she’s more than ready to grab onto what she can now and live it.
This is a beautiful story of love and sacrifice. Royal wants to be loved and treated as though she means something to someone, and Beckett wants to love and be loved. He wants to share his life with someone that he can be happy with. When these two meet after watching each other from a distance for a while, they have no idea that they are about to change each other’s worlds and taking a chance on each could be dangerous, but in the long run it could be the best thing ever to happen. I cried and smiled while reading this story, but mostly, my heart was aching for Royal and her sister. These two never go to have the bond that they should have had because their parents were too blind to see what could have been for them. I give this story a 4-star review and warn you that if you read this story, have tissues handy, but it is so worth the heartache you will endure. The characters are wonderful, caring, loving, and supportive each other and they bring so much to each other’s lives.
I’m having a hard time putting this review down. Omg, this book! This is more than a love story between a man and a woman. The relationship between the sisters is unexpected, compared to how it starts. This story made me cry and smile. 5 stars all the way!
I have truly been enjoying the Uncontrolled Heroes series. Loving The Girl in the Tutu was no exception. Royal and Beckett were wonderful. I enjoyed the first time these two set eyes on each other, when they first meet and how their relationship goes from zero to sixty in a blink of an eye.
Royal, poor Royal .. She was a mystery to me. Was something wrong? What was happening to her. I couldn’t even guess at what her life was like. Her story was so intriguing and unique.
And Beckett, he was blunt and brash and knew what he wanted .. and it was Royal.
In my opinion, this story can be read as a standalone. LTGITT was awesome!
My heart breaks for Royal. Teased because of her name, feeling like “spare parts” because of her birth, unloved. But when she connects to her sister and starts to live life… that is when you know you need to get the tissues out!
Well, let me just grab a tissue and get my thoughts together! This is such an intense, emotional read from start to finish. I loved all of the characters, seeing in to Royal’s life, all she’s dealt with had me so frustrated for her. I felt my emotions all over the place. From rage to heart break. Beckett is that OTT guy that sees what he wants and does everything he can to get it and make things right. There’s great strength in the story, more emotions than I was expecting and an additional layer that kept the pages turning.
My heart has been torn has been broken and put back together for Beckett and Royal. Loving the Girl in the Tutu has left me in tears so many times but the love between Beckett and Royal is unbelievable. I would reread the book again. I love this book! I love that when Beckett finally founds Royal they never let go of each other. The ending was perfect.
K. L Donn does such a wonderful job with this book and I would not only recommend it to other people but it is now one of my favorite book. This is one of the time I wish I could give more then 5 because that how good I though Loving the Girl in the Tutu is. If you have not read the book you are miss out on a fantastic love story.
Oh my … this book broke me but I loved every second I couldn’t put it down but at times I had to look up and remind myself that this isn’t me I’m not going through this I honestly don’t know how I would cope if this had of been me living this life I was just a wreck reading it… an awesome book that I highly recommend but I also recommend tissues wine and chocolate not necessarily in that order !
You know that a book is good when you read faster than you knew you could just to find out what happens next. From the first chapter, I couldn’t read fast enough. I was both excited and dreading, the chapter. This was such an intense read. It was a roller coaster of emotions. And, I mean, the feels were all over the place. I loved this book. Like, probably my most favorite of the year, so far. It was amazing, and I can’t wait to see what KL Donn gives us next.
