A new name and genre led me to this gem of a read. It’s hot and steamy without the details which makes it so much better. I love this new journey into the romance arena from this author. This read includes so much that you can’t help but follow along and just bask in its goodness. He was a brutal attorney who had a background full of pain and misery that he tried to hide from the public. She had an image totally different from who she was and protected her family with love. One crazy night with tons of alcohol and their lives would never be the same. Fierce loyalty and protection of those they love lead these two to battle. Now if they can put all of that into fighting for each other maybe just maybe they can have what neither ever thought they deserved. I absolutely loved these characters. Their fierce loyalty and love, the way they had each other’s back and not just for romance but for so much more. Abuse in any form is never okay no matter what the circumstances, knowing there is someone who has your back and that protects you no matter the cost is half the battle. With these two leading the battle cry loving your enemy may be the best thing yet. Awesome read I can’t wait for more from this author who is nailing the genre like she did the other and keeping you invested in these characters and their hea from the first line to the last!!
I found that I really enjoyed this book very much. I appreciated that the sex scenes weren’t overly descriptive and the swearing was kept to a minimum. The chemistry was palpable without all the details.
Blair (Angela) was a woman who had stepped out of her simple beginnings and made a name for herself as a very no-frills business woman who did what she had to do by working hard to make a name for herself. She was hoping for a partner position at her firm and was liked by all her clients and coworkers. Her boss, Jonathan, was creepy and inappropriate in his attentions to her but she was willing to put up with it as long as it didn’t go too far.
Blair had let her hair down on New Year’s Eve and gotten a little drunk and found herself in the bed of a very handsome man that she didn’t know. Actually, he looked a little familiar but she couldn’t place him. When she arrived at work the following day, there he was in all his business glory representing his client and seeking investment funds from her client.
Adam had been Blair’s nemesis in high school. He was one of the jerk jocks who made her life miserable. Both Adam and Blair had secrets that they didn’t share with others. They were locked away for safe-keeping but as they spent time together, they began to see that their impressions of each other from high school may not have been accurate. The chemistry between the two of them was off-the-charts, too. Was it possible to be vulnerable and open to pain and heartache for the possibility of a happy ever after?
There is so much more to the story but I am going to let you discover that for yourself.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest opinion.
Such a sweet, clean, tense, angst-filled, sweet, angst-filled, surprising, angst-filled, sweet, wonderful…love story. I could go on and on about sweet, surprising, angst-filled, etc. But you’ll just have to read it for yourself. Lots of misunderstandings, twists and turns keep you wondering how things will ever work out and have you flipping pages until the end. It’s all good in the end but getting there is what makes this a fun read. And, of course, a great HEA that makes it all wonderful.
If there’s one thing I love when I’m reading a novel, it’s not knowing EVERYTHING about the main characters. Real life is like that … you meet someone and you sure as heck don’t know everything about them. I love learning what makes the characters who they are … and if first impressions are wrong, well discovering another layer to the character(s) is the best part of a good story. This author does this so well. She takes you on a journey and slowly gives you glimpses into what makes her characters tick. This process makes likeable characters more lovable and complicated characters you may not like so much, redeemable. I found myself rooting for them and caring about them and yes – I hated to see the story end. This is exactly the kind of book I love. Good writing, good editing, excellent story line and characters that stay with you. HIGHLY recommend.
Blair wants badly to shed her past, but her past comes back to haunt her when her New Years Prince turns out to be someone she mistakenly believes is not so charming.
Blair is forced to work with “Prince”Adam, and he manages to secure a weekend with her folks and charms them. She soon discovers that maybe Cinderella was the one who lacked charm.
This book has #MeToo moments and enough intrigue and heart to keep one hooked.
My only problem with the book is that it is too “blue” right at the beginning. It feels a little un-necessary and over-the-top at that point.
I have received this book as a free ARC, but I am giving my review freely and own opinion.
Loving on the Enemy was such a fun book. There were no graphic sex scenes and swearing is minimal which, in my mind, make this a great book. Blair and Adam were high school classmates. Both have preconceived ideas of the other’s character. (Both are mistaken). There is plenty of chemistry between Blair and Adam. We have some great villains in Blair’s CEO and Adam’s dad. This book has a great plot that will take you some places you did not expect with some chuckles (and some rage) along the way. I could not put the book down. Do not miss this one.

Oh, my goodness I absolutely loved this book! Blair and Adam had me laughing from the very beginning of this book. The snarky comments and sultry looks had me laughing and sighing all the way through to. I can’t tell you how many times I snorted while reading this. Both Blair and Adam had pre conceived notions of each other and when they find there is more than meets the eye it was humbling for both. I highlighted so many passages in this book and I plan on rereading it again. I am waiting with bated breath for book two in the series. I can only imagine the hilarity that is in store for me to read next.
