“Another beautifully-written, evocative and thoroughly enjoyable story that makes a fine finale to the Summerhaven Trio!” –Tessa Shapcott, former Mills & Boon editor From the New York Times bestselling author of The Blueberry Lane series comes a new trio of romances featuring the Haven triplets! Ian Haven and Halcyon Gilbert haven’t seen each other since Hallie’s 17th birthday……the same … each other since Hallie’s 17th birthday…
…the same day Hallie pledged she would never, ever speak to Ian again as long as she lived.
Hallie Gilbert has had an especially awful year. When her husband of five years left her, Hallie’s 4-year-old daughter, Jenny, essentially stopped speaking. Add to this, she had to sell her Boston apartment to pay her husband’s exorbitant credit card bills. What Hallie needs is an uncomplicated autumn at Colby Cottage, her family’s summer home in Sandwich, NH, where she and Jenny can re-group and figure out what happens next.
But Colby Cottage, located adjacent to the Summerhaven Camp, has not been well-maintained and Hallie finds it in such disrepair, it’s almost unlivable. When nearby camp owner, Rory Haven, arranges for his brother, Ian, to handle renovations for Hallie, her plans for an uncomplicated autumn suddenly get a lot more challenging.

Loving Irish is the third book in the awesome Summerhaven series. Ian struggles to overcome his demons on a daily basis, trying to find his place. When Hallie re-enters his life, he is determined to show her he is worth the risk of re-opening her heart. Scarred from her broken marriage and their jagged past, she resists, not wanting to be hurt yet again. Slowly, the line between hate and love blurs until all that is left is honesty, truth, and the desire to stop resisting and accept. To love Irish.
As with all Katy’s books, it was hard to put down, and I enjoyed every word. Looking forward to the next read already!
I confess. I skipped book two in the Summerhaven Trio and went straight to book three. I had read Fighting Irish, book one, early this summer. When I saw the deal on Loving Irish I nabbed it and I’m glad I did.
Ian is the last of the Haven triplets to have his story told. He, Rory, and Tierney helped their parents run Summerhaven Camp. Dating campers? Strictly off limits. Ian didn’t always follow the rules. He was careful not to get caught, though! The camper Ian had his eye on at age seventeen? Hallie Gilbert. They were totally and completely in love. They were going to meet at the barn the night Hallie turned seventeen. Instead, someone else shows up….
Fast forward ten years, Loving Irish is the story of what exactly happened and how things are in the present. Both of their lives fell apart after that fateful night. Both are trying to rebuild their lives now. This story is one of misunderstandings, assumptions, spitefulness, forgiving, and eventually realizing that second chances shouldn’t be ignored.
LOVING IRISH is Book 3 in The Summerhaven Trio Series. Book 3 is Ian Haven and Halcyon (Hallie) Gilbert’s second-chance romance. This seems like a very little-chance romance, too. Of the triplets Ian once told Rory: “That of the three of them, Rory was the heart. Tierny was the soul, and he was the entertainment.” Tierny said, “He was right about everyone but himself. He is entertaining sometimes, but his purpose is deeper. Ian is the glue.” When Hallie left ten years ago she pledged to never, ever speak to Ian again for as long as she lived. She had left on her 17th birthday and to say it was the worst birthday she ever had, would even be putting it mildly.
Hallie Gilbert has had an entirely awful past year. Only dire circumstances would make her even consider returning to her family’s Colby Cottage. It is the family’s summer home in Sandwich, NH. But ten years later, she is returning to where she vowed never to return. It is located adjacent to the Summerhaven Camp, and Ian who shattered her young heart all that time ago. Yet she and her young daughter need a place they can regroup and figure out what happens next. Her husband of 5 years has left her. Her four year old daughter has stopped talking to her. Add on that she had to sell all she owned to pay off her husbands huge debt. Plus the once beautiful Colby Cottage is in ruins. And the only available help insight is one Ian Haven.
Back track ten years and Ian is madly in love with Halcyon Gilbert. He knew it would take great effort to turn a summer love into a forever love. But he could not even picture another girl he would love or want forever. Fate interrupted their destined romance, and split them apart for years. Ian turned to drink and hit rock bottom. Ian was grateful for the love and encouragement of his siblings. Not only achieving sobriety but maintaining it. It would be a life time battle. It was all about change: dropping bad habits and replacing them with good ones. Hallie was the only true love of Ian’s life. The one and only, so if she and his daughter needed him then he would be there if only to make amends!
The truth was, she’d been his all along, and he’s been hers. Maybe they just had a difficult detour to the way to forever. I loved how this all ended up, but must read to understand it all! But in the end LOVING IRISH was the greatest treasure!
There is one more book in this series and that is CATCHING IRISH. It is Finian Kelley and Tate Jennings story, and they meet at a wedding, but that doesn’t mean that romance was the only thing on their minds. Coming in August!
Each book gets better. Only thing is that it’s slower than most. They don’t come together till almost the end. And OMG. I wanted to punch Vicky in the face. Hallie should have that night in high school and again ten years later. Seriously in understand being hurt and dejected but come on you are seriously messed up to be that horrible of a person. Ugh. Poor Ian and poor hallie. Both have suffered for ten years over unspeakable circumstances that severed their tight love infused bond. He is trying to make amends in his recovery and she is just barely holding her head above water after the multiple hits and damage inflicted by her ex-husband. Jenny her daughter helped to melt her ice heart a little bit and see how he has changed and grown and then learning the truth about what happened so long ago allowed a path to healing. Then another bomb. That bomb right before they come together intimately after ten years of loss and anticipation and love. Wow. Ian really did loose so much that night because of Vicky. And never moved on. Loved the book.
Ian’s story is by far my favorite! So much heartbreak and so my pain in Ian’s past that all started with his teenage Love Halcyon ( Hallie) And a lot of hurt and regret over a night he couldn’t remember because he drank too much. This story of a second chance has everything good that slowly builds up to a Wonderful HEA! Love this series!
OMG! I loved the story of Hallie and Ian so much!!!!
What a rollercoaster of emotions with these two!!
So many things against them for them not to find each other again, but due to certain circumstances due to Hallie’s douche of an ex, she runs into Ian again!
This time though she has her 4 year old daughter in tow, and she’s sworn off men forever. After what happened, I would have too!
Ian comes to help her with the cottage, and they find their way into each other’s hearts again. I won’t spoil it, but there was a HUGE twist, and wow! It was so great, and I loved it.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
A good entertaining read. A bit too stereotypical viewpoint on the Irish culture, but still wonderful characters.
The Haven triplets grew up in a summer camp that was run by their parents. Rory did his best to behave himself and follow the no dating the campers rule set down by his very strict Irish mother, Tierney was a bookish girl who was too shy to be friends with the campers, and Ian had a hard time even getting close to the rules.
Ten years later Rory is running the camp as a convention center/ retreat after his mother had a stroke right as he was graduating from college. Tierney lives nearby and oversees the buildings and tours for a local landmark, and Ian is an alcoholic who is only in touch periodically.
Ian has been sober now for over 100 days and has taken over a lot of the day-to-day running of Summerhaven when Hallie and her four year old daughter move into her family’s cabin across the lake. The cabin hasn’t been used in ten years and is in really bad condition, but it is all Hallie has left after her husband cheated on her and left her $200k in debt. To make amends for what happened that last year at camp, Ian repairs the cabin for Hallie.
Of the three books in the series, this is my favorite. Another thing I really like is how the authors tells all three stories at the same time, interweaving them together.
I was really looking forward to reading Ian’s story and hoped it would meet my expectations. It certainly did! All the emotions and feelings that Hallie but especially Ian went through made it so heartfelt and emotional. I really loved the relationship between them.
I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series 🙂
Hallie and Ian have been secretly together when they were teenagers and thought they would spend the rest of their lives together but one faithful night changes the course of both their lives. Now years later Hallie returns to the town she left behind. She’s now divorced and has a little girl to take care off and after being left with almost nothing ‘cuz of the things her ex-husband did, she’s trying to held her head above water. She tries to stay clear of Ian but it’s harder than she thinks. Even though she still hasn’t forgave him for the things that happened years ago, the chemistry between them is palpable. But the one thing that comes first for Hallie is her daughter and trying to do what’s best for her.
Ian has had so much to overcome in the last few years and he has never overcome the loss of the love of his life and when she finally returns to his hometown, he’ll try to do whatever it takes to make amends with her. But Hallie doesn’t want to have anything to do with him. But Ian won’t let go of her that easily this time and will do whatever it takes to make her see that he’s changed.
Will they finally have their chance of happiness together?….
This is the book I’ve been most looking forward to since I started the Summerhaven series. Ian called to me after he’d sobered up there was something so melancholy about him even while he was enjoying his time with his siblings. Katy Regnery had been teasing his past with Halcyon (Hallie) for two books, and I was there for Loving Irish.
Ian Haven, what can I even say about him? After his illustrious introduction in Fighting Irish he’d grown exponentially; by the time this book started Ian was a completely new man. He was putting in the hard work to stay sober and prove to his loved ones and himself that he had changed. Ian went above and beyond to make amends as part of his recovery, and he did it selflessly, knowing the entire time Hallie had no intentions of ever forgiving him. It was equal parts heartbreaking and beautiful.
Hallie was as broken as Ian, in completely different ways. Life hadn’t been kind to her, in the love department at least, and she was struggling to find solid ground. She had so much anger she’d been carrying around with her and no outlet to let it escape. Between her ex-husband’s actions, her daughter’s reaction to their new circumstances, and Ian reappearing in her life, she was crazy overwhelmed but I was still highly impressed with how she handled herself. She mostly kept it together, and I’m not sure I would have had the same ability.
I loved the back and forth between Hallie and Ian’s past and their present. I’m a sucker for a second-chance romance, and they’re even better when we get to see a glimpse of their first love affair. I was so happy there weren’t a lot of other storylines in this book beyond their love stories, it would have detracted from the intensity of what they’d been through in the past and what they were experiencing in their new relationship.
Loving Irish is the third book in Katy Regnery’s Summerhaven series. These books are technically interconnected stand-alones, but I think you get the best experience of Ian’s story, in particular, if you read all three of them as his story of recovery starts in the first book. The book is written in third-person limited perspective, alternatively following Halcyon and Ian’s thoughts.
My only wish for this book would be a little clean-up in the editing. There were a handful of typos, not enough to take away from the story, but enough to be noticeable.
It’s one of those feel good books that puts you through a bit of a rough patch first.
A misunderstanding when they were young, Ian and Halcyon are torn apart and never really put back together.
Ian turned to alcohol.
Halcyon turned to a loveless marriage.
Neither ever found themselves.
Until they found each other.
We’ve been following Ian’s sobriety since Fighting Irish. He’s come so far and it’s only a matter of time before he finds his true love.
Or is it?
What if he’s already found her, he’s just waiting for fate to return her to him?
Halcyon is going through a divorce and is left with very little. She finds herself back at Colby Cottage, right next to Summerhaven.
Is fate playing matchmaker?
Can ten years apart destroy a first love?
Can ten years apart bring two people back together?
Loving Irish is easy to do when Irish is your first love.
It’s great to see the Havens and the O’Leary’s again. It’s great seeing the triplet dynamic. It’s great to see Ian find his happily ever after.
“Loving Irish” is the piognant conclusion to the Summerhaven Trio, and gives us the story of triplet Ian. Rule breaking, dashing Ian who is working hard to bring himself up from rock bottom and reconstruct a life of goodness and purpose. Once again Ms. Regnery works her word magic to draw the reader into this heartfelt, and moving story. Each of the trio of Summerhave books is a romance, but each has a slightly different version, with each plot having a different underlying sub-category. It sets each apart and makes them that much more interesting.
The book leads us back to ten years ago when 17 year old Ian is still working at Summerhaven after high school, and still sober. We’re introduced to Halcyon Gilbert and her gaggle of teen friends (one being Britt Manion, Rory Haven’s love from Fighting Irish). Ian and Hallie are in summer love, though it may be more. But through a series of unfortunate events, Hallie’s trust in Ian is broken and they never see each other again… Until Hallie has to move back to her family’s cottage near Summerhaven and needs assistance. Ian works the steps of AA, and wants to make amends and help Hallie in any way he can. Through the plot and the throwbacks to ten years ago, the struggles of Hallie and Ian intertwine and collide.
Once again Ms. Regnery gave us characters full of details and life, struggles and achievements. Ian’s backstory and deep devotion to his family, and his accomplishments after becoming sober are heart wrenching. I rooted for him in all three books to make it and get his happily ever after! Reading Hallie’s perspective made me mad at men in her honor! But she persevered to be the mom she could with the options she had. And I loved that despite her misgivings for men, and distrust after her husband’s betrayal, she still had trust and compassion in her heart for her male friends and could see her daughters needs above all else.
“He’d rather love her unrequitedly and die knowing that he’d never given up on them.” Poor Ian and Hallie, whose lives were changed 10 years ago at age 17. Their love turned to hate. But hate is an emotion closer to love than indifference as cousin Finn put it. So we start out knowing they were once in love, summer love, puppy love. Ian had to work on self-love and self-care before adding a love life back. Hallie has to regain her self-worth and trust in men. But the foundation is there. The chemistry between the characters works with their struggle, AA and divorce. A layer of lava under the surface, waiting to break free; but will it be destructive or passionate in the end?
I can’t find many faults for an author who quotes “Outlander” in her book, as well as a fabulous use or Disney movies for life explanations. 🙂 But really, all these books are full of such well written details and heartfelt emotion. I think one of my favorite quotes is one that has slightly different versions in all three books, because the siblings say it to each other, but I feel Tierney said it best in this book, “[Ian] might give up on himself sometimes, but he’ll never give up on someone he loves. He once told Rory that out of the three of us, Rory was the heart, I was the soul, and he was the entertainment. He was right about everyone but himself. He is entertaining sometimes, but his purpose is deeper. … He’s the glue.” I highlighted so many well said snippets that I can’t share them all. They all work seamlessly to draw you in, move you forward, with enough backstory to keep the reader well informed.
Despite this book being about two subjects I’m not intimately versed in, I felt each of Ian’s challenges and breakthroughs and accomplishments. I connected with Hallie and her adorable daughter and laughed and cried with them as they worked out their new life. I loved how we got to see bits of Rory and Britt and Teirney and Burr’s lives through Ian (those little flash forward’s and epilogues are my favorite!). We were even introduced to cousin Finn, who seemed to need a book of his own, where we might get more peeks into the Haven triplets lives. Thanks for the great books Ms. Regnery.
Star Ratings:
Plot = 5/5 Characters = 5/5 Heat = 5/5 Writing Style = 5/5 Overall Rating = 5/5
This is a standalone read with a HEA. I gave it a 5 on my Amazon review. I really liked it and definitely recommend it.
Once again Katy Regnery has blown this reader away with this second chance romance. I may be a superfan, but this last book in the trio was the icing on the cake.
I think what really touched me as a reader is to see Ian come so far. To be honest, I believe you need to read the other two (and why wouldn’t you) before you embark on Hallie and Ian’s story. I think to understand the demons that Ian struggles with as he tries to make amends with those he has hurt. Katy delivers a raw, honest human who is deeply in love and truly wants the best for this person. Even at the cost of happiness. You’ll find yourself cheering for our hero from the depths of your soul.
Hallie brings all the feelings that anyone in her situation would bring. She is cautious and rightfully so. But eventually listening to her heart wins over her brain.
Once again, I am in love with the genre. Ms. Regnery brings to the table everything I love about romance and second chances. If you’ve not read books 1&2, they are equally enchanting. But I will say this one stole my heart.

“There is only you for me, mo chroí.”
The irresistibly romantic Summerhaven Trio is one of my favorite series of 2018, and this final installment, LOVING IRISH, completely stole my heart!
THE STORY:
Ian Haven and Hallie Gilbert had a clandestine summer romance when they met as teenagers at his family run Summerhaven Camp. Halle wanted her first time to be with the boy she “loved madly,” but on the night the starry eyed 17 year olds were supposed to rendezvous in their secret place to finally consummate their love, it went horribly wrong, leaving both their hearts in tatters. Afterwards their lives took drastically divergent paths, and not particularly for the better. Especially in Ian’s case as he spiraled downward and found solace in the bottle. After hitting rock bottom, he finally cleaned up his act and now is living a clean and sober life that he can be proud of.
But can time heal all wounds?
We are about to find out when fate brings these two ex-sweethearts again a decade later when Hallie and her four year old daughter Jenny move into the Colby Cottage, adjacent to the Summerhaven camp, for the Autumn season. Hallie and little Jenny have struggled mightily since her divorce and both need a change of scenery while they get back on their feet. But yikes…suddenly the downtrodden single mom’s life is about to be thrown into a tailspin once again when Ian shows up to do the repairs on her dilapidated summer home!
Despite still being wildly attracted to one another, Hallie still claims to hate the big, brawny Irishman with every fiber of her being, and warns him to keep his distance while he works to fix up her home. So yup Ian has some atonin’ to do to get back in his beloved’s good graces and it’s a majorly uphill battle. For they don’t just have their fractured relationship to consider because Jen-Jen , who is forming too much of an attachment to her ex for her comfort, could get her fragile heartbroken too. Can Hallie succeed in keeping “Irish” at arm’s length or will true love finally prevail ?
MY MUSINGS:
I have so much love for LOVING IRISH! Katy Regnery’s deeply touching novels never fail to give me shivery butterflies and fill my heart with gladness, and this slow burning reunion romance is no exception! The anticipation has been building throughout the first two books for lovable black Ian Haven’s story, and let me just say that it STRUCK AN INDELIBLE CHORD!
I am a sucker for a redemption story and I was hooked immediately by this angsty, powerfully emotional and intensely romantic story of hope and healing, of courage and forgiveness, and embracing a second chance at love in all its PERFECTLY IMPERFECT glory! As with all of the interconnected standalones in this series,, the romance twisted my belly in knots, gave me oodles of heart-clenching feels and had me breathlessly flipping the pages! Ian and Hallie are just made for each other and are very definition of what I adore about swoony second chance romances! You feel the love and tumult and bittersweet yearning down to your core. And when passion finally ignites …UTTERLY INTOXICATING!
Told in dual pov with pivotal flashbacks woven throughout, Ms. Regnery did a stellar job of chronicling these characters’ tumultuous romantic journey, and her realistic portrayal of Ian’s descent in alcoholism and subsequent recovery was especially poignant. And… sob… when we get the full in-depth story of the soul crushing events that occurred that fateful night that changed the trajectory of both their lives, prepare to have your heart RIPPED TO SHREDS!
As far as BBFs go, the strappingly handsome Ian Haven just owned me! Gah! What’s NOT to love about this big-hearted, gorgeously bearded, man bun-wearing Irishman in all his magnificent green eyed, brawny muscled splendor? He is kind, chivalrous, gruffly charming, incredibly hardworking, and desperate to repair what was once broken. This once desolate man lost so much due to alcoholism but his devotion toward his family, his sobriety, and the woman he never stopped loving FILLED MY HEART TO OVERFLOWING!I adore how he has SUCH a romantic soul, and is a fighter through and through, and how he refuses to squander his chance to make amends with his beloved Halcyon. Plus, this gentle giant bonds so sweetly with Hallie’s precious little girl Jenny that my ovaries nearly imploded!
I admired Hallie as well! She’s an AMAZINGLY DEVOTED mom, carrying quite a burden on her shoulders, and would do anything to make things better for Jen-Jen. However unlike her little girl, Hallie does not instantly warm to Ian. But while her contempt toward her former flame was admittedly a bit frustrating at times, the infuriatingly sexy Irishman sure managed to get under her skin, which made it even harder to not succumb to his charms! And in all fairness I couldn’t totally blame her for being so emotionally guarded and distrusting after everything she’s been through. On top of Ian’s “betrayal,” and her failed marriage, which left her in serious debt, the divorce took a hefty emotional toll on her daughter. Jenny had become seriously sullen and withdrawn since the divorce, and was missing her daddy something awful, until Ian gave his little “ladybug” —and Hallie — a reason to smile again!
Bottom line…Did I want these former flames to kiss and make up quicker? Heck yeah! Hallie held onto her grudge for a REALLY long time— too long for my taste if I’m being completely honest— but once she finally does come around and surrenders to the love she’s always had in her heart for Ian, I was floating on a fluffy cloud of bliss!! So while the road to reconciliation is long and arduous , the ultimate reward is oh so DELICIOUSLY SWEET!
Aside from the captivating romance, one of my favorite throughlines of this series has been the close kinship between the big, gregarious Haven clan. And it was so gratifying to revisit Rory and Brittany, Tierney and Burr living out their HEA. This is an Irish-American family that rallies together through thick and thin and their support of Ian just is so heartwarming ! And by books end, when Rory and Tierney’s beloved bro finally gets to ride off into the sunset too, I was dancing a happy Irish jig alongside them!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
LOVING IRISH was the perfect denouement to the Summerhaven trio…and I am giddy with excitement to dive into the spinoff novella, CATCHING IRISH, featuring their rascally cousin Finian!
WOW!!! I don’t know who my heart broke for more–Ian, Hallie, or Jenny. Talk about being put through the wringer!!!! I can’t think of a recent book that I have read that I wanted to reach in the pages and slap not one but two characters. Readers get ready for the emotional rollercoaster of the year.
We first met Ian in book one of the Summerhaven Trio. You did read it right??? Oh My, if you haven’t get on it—so good–and although not necessary in order to read this the back story is amazing. He comes full circle in this book. What destroyed him ten years ago may just be the glue that keeps him together.
The relationship building, the story building, the characters all make Loving Irish a Top Ten read for me this year. It also makes me want to go back and reread all of the authors books. I have loved them all!!!!
Loving Irish is the third book in this series following the triplets of Summerhaven.
Ian has had a physical and emotional journey he has battled his demons since high school . He had one love and he lost her due to mistakes and misunderstandings. He is now on the road to recovery and she has reappeared the same beautiful woman she was but a little broken and beat down.
Hallie was so in love with our boy Ian even though she knew he had a bit of a flirt/playboy streak . She knew deep down what they had was real ….so she thought . She fled the summer retreat not to return and did not look back . Hallie had been made a fool and would not stand for it. She is now back from a marriage that left her with a beautiful daughter and ex cheating husband Romeo.
Hallie comes back to the cottage that she held so dear only to find it complete and utter need of repair.
Ian volunteers his services to make the home livable and falls once again for the beautiful Hallie and her young child. They soon discover the past is not all that it would have seemed and are unsure if their is anyway to fix it. The cottage can be repaired but how abut their lives together .
I love this series and the amazing characters that fill the pages !!

This book was absolutely everything that I was hoping it would be and more!
I had been eagerly waiting to read Ian’s story as I feel that his character has suffered long enough. He has worked hard trying to find his sobriety in the previous two books in this series and so I have been cheering hard in his corner as I really wanted to see him finally get his HEA. Ian and Hallie’s story is one that is a very emotional and heart wrenching read. It really left a lasting mark on me as it made me stop and think about how something so simple as a silly mistake can rip away your happiness in the blink of an eye. It truly was is a story that will stay with you long after reading it.
The writing in this book was extremely good and so easy to get lost in which i’ve only come to expect from this author. It had some really beautiful and romantic scenes that made my heart melt and some super sweet interaction between Ian and Jenny (ladybug) that bough a smile to my face while reading it. I absolutely loved this story even though it bought out all the emotions in me. This is a great addition to this wonderful series.
5 Amazing Stars!
Oh my gawd, this story…THIS STORY!!!
Ten years ago, Ian and Hallie had plans to spend the night together for Hallie’s seventeenth birthday. When things go awry and all their plans fall apart, they are both left with a life of devastation. After a failed marriage, Hallie is moving back to her family’s cottage next door to Summerhaven and unfortunately in very close proximity to Ian. With her daughter struggling and a house in ruin, the last thing she wants to contend with is the man that had once held all her hopes and dreams.
I loved this story so much! Ian had been completely broken from that one fateful night and was finally putting his life together. Despite the guilt he carried on his shoulders, it was his undying adoration of Hallie that made me love him so much. It never wavered, always remaining a constant in his life throughout the last decade. Man, what’s not to love about a man who will never let his woman go?
description
My heart hurt for both Ian and Hallie as the events from years ago led them onto different paths, each destructive in its own way. I wanted to rant and rave when given the full picture of that night through flashbacks. This book had so much angst from the past that bled over into the present. My heart HURT!!!
description
This story was wonderfully laid out and beautifully written. The characters are well developed and their actions were based solidly on their circumstances. Secondary characters don’t carry a lot of the weight, but we are introduced to a promising new hero and his heroine. Jenny, Hallie’s daughter, does help the plot as her own struggles, and Ian’s ability to help her, cause Hallie to open her heart a bit. I felt her character was consistent with that of a four year old and I loved watching her come to life again.
I won’t go into it here in order to keep it spoiler free, but I will say that once the conflict was fully exposed and dealt with, this couple didn’t waste any time in correcting their ten year separation. Overall, this is a very emotional read that I absolutely loved. Each book in the Summerhaven Trio series has pulled me in further and further and now I’m ready for the next one!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There’s this bubbly, happy feeling in my heart at the end of every Katy Regnery book. As far as romantic storytelling goes, Ms. Regnery is one of my queens, and there is no exception here. Loving Irish is a lovely second chance romance filled with that almost poetic storytelling I attribute as signature to Ms. Regnery, and the sort of desperate, deeply romantic love story that I will never ever get enough of.
I have anticipated Ian Haven’s story so much. He captured my attention and my heart immediately in this series, and so I could not wait to get inside his head – and his heart – and learn what happened between him and Hallie that set them both adrift. I completely adored how Ms. Regnery handled their story – giving us little flashback snippets to unfold their history – and building the story of present day Hallie and Ian as a slow, aching burn. I loved them both so fiercely and little Jenny? Gah. Don’t even get me started on little Jenny. She only served to make an already rich story that much richer, and the relationship she formed with Ian? My heart cannot even handle it. The sweetest thing ever and I could not get enough.
There is magic in these stories, I swear. They pull me out of my own reality, fill my belly with fluttery butterflies, and set my heart to racing. I adore every moment I get to spend in these worlds Ms. Regnery creates for us, and so it should come as no surprise that Summerhaven is my heart’s new favorite vacation destination. If your heart and soul are in need of a swoony escape? I cannot recommend Loving Irish enough.
