“Another beautifully-written, evocative and thoroughly enjoyable story that makes a fine finale to the Summerhaven Trio!” –Tessa Shapcott, former Mills & Boon editor From the New York Times bestselling author of The Blueberry Lane series comes a new trio of romances featuring the Haven triplets! Ian Haven and Halcyon Gilbert haven’t seen each other since Hallie’s 17th birthday……the same … each other since Hallie’s 17th birthday…
…the same day Hallie pledged she would never, ever speak to Ian again as long as she lived.
Hallie Gilbert has had an especially awful year. When her husband of five years left her, Hallie’s 4-year-old daughter, Jenny, essentially stopped speaking. Add to this, she had to sell her Boston apartment to pay her husband’s exorbitant credit card bills. What Hallie needs is an uncomplicated autumn at Colby Cottage, her family’s summer home in Sandwich, NH, where she and Jenny can re-group and figure out what happens next.
But Colby Cottage, located adjacent to the Summerhaven Camp, has not been well-maintained and Hallie finds it in such disrepair, it’s almost unlivable. When nearby camp owner, Rory Haven, arranges for his brother, Ian, to handle renovations for Hallie, her plans for an uncomplicated autumn suddenly get a lot more challenging.

In Loving Irish, Katy Regnery has written a spellbinding story about one man’s remorse, his quest to make amends, and his ultimate redemption. Ian Haven won a huge place in my heart with his ceaseless determination to make right the hurt and pain he caused his loved ones on the past.
His efforts to recover himself and some semblance of the happiness he once had are nothing short of inspirational.
This final book in the Summer Haven Trio is one that captures the attention quickly and holds it long after the last page has been turned. Loving Irish chronicles some very real-life struggles with which most readers will identify with. The strength it take to over come dark times is universal. The courage it takes to admit that things are bad, the faith it takes to believe things will be better, and the commitment it takes to actively turn them around is a timeless cycle.
Katy Regnery shows us that love is a force powerful enough to motivate change in a person. For love humans are willing to do all that is necessary to ensure its survival and growth. There is no greater change agent than love. Ian Haven is the perfect messenger to deliver this truth.
I have been waiting for Hallie and Ian story since Fighting Irish. This is a slow burn second chance at romance that will have you Loving Irish. This might be my favorite book in this series, everything about Hallie and Ian will have you yelling at them to just talk and quite avoiding each-other. Ian was amazing with Hallie’s 4-year-old daughter Jen, Ladybug and Mr. Haven talks were adorable. As always Katy, your writing has me feeling every emotion you write.
Highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a good slow burn with an HEA!
I’ve been waiting for Ian’s story to understand just why he is the way he is, and now I get it. The idea of a second chance happening when there is so much heartbreak and betrayal is hard to fathom. It was almost hard to read Ian and Hallie’s story knowing there was so much love at an early age…and then it was gone. The longing they have for each other is to where their pain can’t allow them to reconnect. The tale is moving and yet relatable to where one thing changes and it sets life off to a whole other path, and it takes a little cupid to open up their eyes again.
I was a little bit worried before I started the book. I loved the first two so much, and I was terrified Ian couldn’t redeem himself. Boy was I wrong! I read the book in one sitting. I was swept away by Ian, Hallie, and Jenny. I loved watching Ian and Hallie learn to love again. It was a beautiful love story.
I love Hallie and Ian and as always this author manages to make me cry. This was a beautiful love story that held so much feelings of loss and betrayal but most of all love.
* A storyline that’s moving forward but still give you a restlessness to know what comes next. I liked that the background story was revealed slowly.
* As I said I love the main characters, the love between them was present from the beginning. Ian’s openness with Hallie was refreshing and Hallie’s fight with herself to let Ian in to her life was heartbreaking. Ian and little Jenny was the way in to Hallie and their connection was sweet.
* The Secondary characters is intriguing and I love to visit with them again in addition to meat some of the new characters.
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a good amount of dialogues.
* Sweet and tender love scenes that’s filled with emotions and when they finally come together it’s more than I expected.
This author sure knows how to make my heart invested in the story.
5 stars
Similar premise to the latest book by a popular writing duo (they were in love at 17, broke up because of a devastating betrayal, they run into each other 10 years later and start to fall all over again). Where I hated the reason for the breakup there, I liked it here. Probably because there are two POVs in Loving Irish, and the build-up to the reveal in this book was not stretched out to an impossibly high point that the fall became a mighty crash.
I admit I have a soft spot for Ian. He’s probably my favorite of the Haven triplets. He started out at rock bottom in Fighting Irish, that’s why his redemption through Smiling Irish and here in his own book is absolute and believable.
Halcyon’s story touched me mostly because of her daughter. Jenny was on Team Ian the moment she met him and so am I. Hallie’s character was written well, but Ian’s was just multiple times better.
Kudos to Katy for creating characters that the readers, especially her long-time fans, can care about. I’ve always appreciated her celebration of strong family ties and intimate friendships to go along with the main theme of romantic love. These are all exhibited in The Summerhaven Trio. I also appreciate her pride in her Irish heritage which she honored in this series through the language, traditions, and even music.
I absolutely love to read second chance romances and is exactly what we get in Loving Irish by Katy Regnery, the third book in her The Summerhaven Trio series. And we finally get Ian Haven’s story, which we knew from previous books would be emotional. Though each book is about a different sibling, I would highly suggest reading in order for a better reading experience.
We finally learn what drove Ian down the path he was on and see him heading to recovery. His journey has been heartbreaking, but we can see how hard he is working on redeeming himself. Hallie is looking to start over after her ex left. She has her daughter to think about and her heart to protect.
At seventeen everything seems immensely easier and when things go wrong, completely horrible. When Ian and Hallie went their separate ways, it hurt them. Now Hallie is back and wants nothing to do with Ian, but Ian is determined to make up for his mistakes. Even as Hallie only wants to keep him at arm’s length.
I love the strength of family depicted in this series and how second chances can be redeeming. And Ian with Hallie’s daughter was so sweet. He wanted to be there for both of them. Katy Regnery is an amazing writer who gives us stories that are emotional, captivating and beautiful and Loving Irish was all those things and more.

Happy reading!
I just finished devouring my arc of Loving Irish, Ian Haven’s third of the Summerhaven Trio. The deep feelings of Love and Betrayal, between Halley and Ian, mixed in with the love of family, and friends, set a great back drop for a teenage love that never had a chance to grow into all it could have been. Ian, a recovering alcoholic, and Hallie, a recent divorcee, with a four year old daughter, have a hard bumpy road to travel to find their happily ever after. You will absolutely swoon over Ian, as he does his best to convince Hallie what a changed man he is, and you will cheer him on as he continually steps in to help Hallie when things get tough. I wasn’t ready for this one to end, and am so glad that Katy is giving us a companion to the trio, with cousin Fin’s book. If you haven’t read the first two in this series, I highly recommend you do. A great story to spend your summer with. Another great love story, written by Katy Regnery.
Redemption, second chance at love, amends. It’s a beautiful story no matter what word you choose and Ian Haven has to be one of my favorite hero’s facing the gauntlet of redemption.
A man on the road from years of addiction. Finally facing his demons head on and making amends for his wrongs.
Coming from a family who struggles with this very same affliction and watching close family members fight to overcome this very same disease I can attest to the strength it takes to rejoin a society that continually pushes the party lifestyle as the norm. Social gatherings, holiday parties, going out to dinner, sporting events, even walking through the grocery store can be a challenge where advertisements are plentiful and liquor is easy to access. It is a lifelong testament of willpower to those who have amazing support like Ian Haven.
This book is not only filled with a journey about second chances, it’s about the Haven triplets. As a family they are pretty awesome in their support of one another and Loving Irish not only continues to show the bond the triplets have, but it continues the story of Rory and Brittany along with Tierney and Burr from the first two books and you get a glimpse into the next book with a family member visiting from Ireland. So Summerhaven isn’t quite over yet.
As for Ian and Hallie, their love story began back with they were just teenagers. Even with Mrs. Haven’s strict rules about being hands off concerning the campers, Ian never did consider himself a good listener and enjoyed the hands on approach, especially when it came to Hallie Gilbert. When she came into his life he knew she was it for him and he wanted nothing else in the world than to make her happy. Unfortunately the best laid plans don’t always work out and when hearts are broken different paths of mice and men or something along those lines.
I’m sure Ian would have a beautiful Irish limerick, but alas I’m fresh out.
Hallie never wanted to see Ian Haven again, as a matter of fact she’d sworn off men in general after her nasty divorce, but when she arrived at her childhood summer home only to find it falling down around her, it was hard not to accept his help. The boy-correction-now man-who once broke her heart is there to make amends and won’t leave until she’s safe and no longer living in the pitfall squaller she wants to call a home. Unwilling to accept his friendship, only his help setting her home to rights she has little to no choice. However, as time moves along and she sees he is no longer the boy who broke her heart, but a man who perhaps has changed, could she be willing to let him back in and begin again?
Loving Irish is my favorite story in the Summerhaven series. I have loved all of these books, but Hallie is such a special heroine. She is strong, a survivor who is picking up the pieces of her life and making a new start for herself and her young daughter. She is also a little bit quirky with enough of a sense of humor to be able to keep things in perspective.
“He just had to be built like some superhuman action hero, complete with impossibly long, black eyelashes and the greenest eyes God had ever made.
“Damn it,” she muttered. “You couldn’t make him just a little ugly? Some scars? Or a hunchback?” She shook her head. “Maybe he limps. Or has some disgusting flatulence problem.” Thinking about Ian walking around with a cloud of fart smell following him made her grin.”
Ian Haven has been fighting demons and is getting his second chance. A recovering alcoholic, Ian is all about redeeming himself and making amends, but Hallie has her own burdens and isn’t quite ready to forgive and forget.
“…when you love as teens, as wildly and as passionately as they did, it’s not something you ever forget or that dies an easy death.”
Loving Irish is a story that just melted my heart. It was so easy to fall into and be completely absorbed. I started reading and didn’t want to put down my e-reader until the very last page.
“I still believe in us. I—I believe in us, Halcyon. And if I love you hard enough, and long enough, with my entire heart and my entire soul, I believe you’ll love me back. You’ll find a way to love me again.”
This has absolutely become my new favorite Katy Regnery book. I never want this series to end! Maybe some novellas to give us some glimpses into the lives of my favorite triplets???

5 Star Review Loving Irish (The Summerhaven Trio #3) by Katy Regnery
This is Ian Haven and Hallie Gilbert’s story and is the third and final book in the trilogy and what a way to finish. Ian is the black sheep of the family and yet I really loved him.
Loving Irish is a second chance at love story which is fast becoming one of my favourite types of book to read. Ian and Hallie have not seen each other since they were 17 and to say Hallie is bitter is the understatement of the year.
Life has not been kind to either Ian or Hallie. Ian is a recovering alcoholic who has failed to remain sober time and again causing his family a lot of worry. Thankfully he seems to have turned his life around and is now sober and attending meetings.
Hallie is divorced and bankrupt thanks to her ex husband’s debts and returns to her family’s cabin with her daughter, Jenny to lick her wounds and try and sort out their future. She is shocked when she finds the cabin to be in need of repairs and struggles when Ian is charged with doing the repairs.
Ian and her daughter have an almost instant connection that Hallie really struggles with due to their past history. I found the relationship between Ian and Jenny endearing and in fact Jenny almost stole the book for me.
Loving Irish certainly dealt with some heavy topics and they were handled extremely well by Ms. Regnery. This was one of those books that grabbed me from the start and never let me go; what a terrific read Loving Irish was.
As I have come to expect from a book by Katy Regnery, the writing was outstanding, the camaraderie and relationships that Ian has with his family was realistic and heart warming.
Loving Irish was a beautifully written, romantic story and all in all this made for a great read that I highly recommend.
Will Ian and Hallie be able to get over their history and take a leap of faith and face the future together or will life tear them apart again? One click now and find out.
Regnery has done it again. Loving Irish, ran away with more than half of my heart. Hallie and Ian were meant to be together, yet forced to exist apart. Can they let go of the past and concentrate on taking a chance on their future? From young love to adult heartbreak, Irish proves that TRUE love will never die, when the heart is determined to find a way.
