*Underlying suspense concludes in Killing Eva.

This is the second book of a trilogy. It picks up exactly where the first book left off. It does not disappoint. There’s a lot of information in this book and extensive character development of the main characters. As I predicted we get to delve into Clive’s past big time. I don’t do spoilers but what I will say there are several take your breath away moments in both suspense and romance. Just when you think you have something figured out, something happens to change that line of thought. To me, at this point almost every one is a suspect. I’m kidding but your head will be spinning trying to figure this out.
I find Eva to be a very believable person. I said it before her insecurities are true and to me justified, but she’s also strong and trusting. She’s smart and has good instincts. What I really like about her character is that she isn’t always an emotional wreck, like I’ve seen in so many other books, where I actually want to smack the heroine up the side of her head. Sometimes I want to say wake up or stop your whining. In this case, not Eva. She has her rights to be just the way she is. This girl is learning to roll with the punches.
Clive is also discovering things about himself and it’s not always easy to adjust. I give the man kudos. I can also understand his dilemmas.
The secondary characters are just as important to this story as Clive and Eva. They bring depth to the story as well as intrigue. There’s one character who drives me crazy and I’m not sure how I feel about them. I haven’t figured it out. I’m sure by the time I read the third book I’ll have a definite opinion on them. Actually, isn’t this the point of having a mystery and a third book. I can’t wait to see if any of my suspicions or theories are accurate or if I’m completely gobsmacked. Truthfully, I won’t care if I’m wrong. I just want to know the why, where, what, when who and how to this story. The third book will clear it all up for me. Patience is not my strong suit!
Don’t worry just like in the first book you’ll get the smiles, aaah moments, the intrigue, the mystery, you’ll change your mind about ten times, the romance and again the hot as hell heat. I didn’t get as many laughs but seriously I didn’t need them. This book’s job is to transition us from part one by giving us more background information, deeper details in the present and progression that leads us all to the grand finale. It has more than done it’s job.
Once again it was a fast paced read. I can’t wait to get to the final book. So to the author I say Mission Completed. I need book 3 as soon as possible.
ONE INTENSE EXPERIENCE!!!
OMG! Man, talk about pushing all the wrong buttons. Camellia turns up the heat on this jewel almost to the breaking point. Action packed, fast paced, nailbitng, heart pounding, page turning dynamo that keeps you riveted to every word and sitting on a razors edge. This is one baby that you can’t put down even if you had to. Camellia pulled out all the stops on this bad boy with on point descriptions and imagination that really brings this bad boy roaring to life spectacularly. Major trust issues not knowing who’s friend or foe, no where to run and your backs to the wall. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with unexpected circumstances that really rocks this nerve racking installment. The characters are complex, believable and so realistic It feels like you could just reach out and touch them. The scenes are written with such realism it gives the illusion of being a part of the storyline instead of on the sidelines. A strong flowing plot moves smoothly along as Camellia brings this little jewel together beautifully. Remarkable job Camellia, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
The relationship continues to grow between Clive and Eva.
With every turn of the page (or tap on my kindle screen) you are faced with more twists and turns, almost like being on a rollercoaster.
The who done it, continues from book 1. Are Clive and Eva any closer to finding the answers?
You must read this series in order to keep up with what is going on. Starting with Chasing Eva, then Loving Eva then finally, Killing Eva.
I’m recommending this series, because it’s enjoyable, with just the right amount of steamy romantic sex to the unending and thrilling mystery.
Once again Camellia Hart has wowed me with an incredible story. Loving Eva is the second book in the In the Light of Shadows series and it is amazing. We find that after a good chase Clive finally caught the girl of his dreams, but now he must fight to keep Loving Eva. With dark forces and evil people out to destroy the love that Eva and Clive have for each other their relationship will either bloom or crumble. This story is action packed and never dull and boy is it HOT HOT HOT! The chemistry between Clive and Eva is explosive. Eva has two best friends that make her inner circle funny and interesting with a little “girl drama” thrown in for good measure. I absolutely love this series and give Loving Eva 5-stars. I can’t wait to see what the informant does in Killing Eva due to come out October 30, 2018.
Eva and Clive!!!!! Omg this series is just so good. I need more. The big question mark of who is to trust and who isn’t makes it exciting. I think I’ve got the person picked out.
I love seeing Eva’s friends being a big part of this story. I can’t wait for book 3.
Loving Eva is Book 2 in the In Light of Shadows Series. This book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering not only what was going to happen with Eva and the business, but with Eva and Clive as well. This book picks up right where book 1 left off and gives a little more background on what was going on in the business with Eva’s dad and Uncle before he passed away. With the mysterious informant and his employer still at large Eva is still being threatened and trying to figure out by who. Because she is unsure what exactly the informant wants with her, Eva is trying to ignore him and is continuing to work hard to rebuild the tarnished reputation of her business.
Filled with some serious chemistry between Eva and Clive as well as some heart stopping moments between Eva and the informant, this book has it all. There is romance, thrilling suspense and drama throughout this story. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I can’t wait to get my hands on book 3 so I can finally find out who is behind everything going on. By Alisa
We got some action!
Loving Eva picks up after Chasing Eva, thank God I left to read all three book in one go, I’m super anxious to wait.
Eva & Clive are a couple, swoon; they are in love and life suppose to be happy.
But Evas’ business still in jeopardy and she doesn’t understand where the danger comes from with all the FBI and questions about her family and her uncle.
I love that Clive is so protective of her, even though she is a strong, capable woman.
Clive can’t imagine losing her.
Book 3 here I go!!!
4 stars!
How do you survive the storm, when it’s coming at you from all sides? Camellia Hart is back with the intricately crafted cryptogram that is Eva and Clive. They thought they could finally breathe easy, but were these fighters ever wrong. Now instead of battling their feelings for each other, they’re facing some dangerous enemies determined to win at all costs. Can they use their heads to protect their hearts? Or will they lose the battle to end a war? Never a dull moment in this cat and mouse game.
In the second installment of Eva and Clive’s story the suspense, mystery and intrigue continue in their corporate world. With secrets from Clive’s past and his ex, Sylvia, threatening his relationship with Eva, there’s never a dull moment in their personal lives, as well. Fortunately, things that could damage the average relationship serve to strengthen the bond between Eva and Clive, but the threat to Eva’s company, and now to her life, is very real, and Clive is determined to use all of his considerable resources to keep Eva safe.
This story is my favorite kind of romance. One where the main characters are strong and they stand united to fight the external conflicts. While I was a bit underwhelmed with Eva’s faith in Clive in the first book, she redeemed herself beautifully in this book, making her and Clive that much stronger as their relationship progresses. At this point I’m completely invested in this story and have to read the next book to finally find out who is so determined to destroy Eva’s company as well as her relationship with Clive. I really have no idea who the antagonist might be, but I suspect once it is revealed, all of the clues will click for me. That’s the sign of a good suspense writer – when the reader is kept guessing but then says, “Of course!” at the big reveal. You’ll want to start with the first book, Chasing Eva, and read them in order, but Eva’s story has so many elements that there is something to appeal to every reader.
This is the continuing story of Clive and Eva, if you haven’t read the first book “Chasing Eva” I recommend you start with that one. In this book you get more information on the informant but we still don’t know who it is. Clive and Eva’s relationship goes through a few a rough patches but their relationship grows stronger. Clive still hasn’t come clean to Eva about his past. Will he be the one to tell her or will someone else beat him to it? I really enjoyed this second book in the series. It was well written with interesting complex characters. It had an engaging storyline that was fast paced with suspense, mystery, amazing chemistry between Eva/Clive and plenty of unexpected twists and turns. This is definitely a must read for anyone who enjoys reading romantic suspense.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Clive and Eva are closer than ever and so is their unknown tormentor. While they are enjoying the pleasures of being in love and being a couple there are dark clouds looming over them. With the death of Candy they are all now on edge. But with all of their friends helping anyway they can, there just might be justice after all.
New threats keep coming via more envelopes and old news becomes new troubles. Distance and silence are no way to keep a relationship alive.
Clive is more determined than ever to protect Eva even if it costs him her. But Eva is just as determined to find out what he hides. When he finally comes clean he is surprised by her response.
The passion is growing more heated. The pull for them to overcome these threats and problems are stronger. I have suspicions as to who is at the heart of all of their troubles and can’t wait to see if I am right. I love Clive’s long standing devotion to his Eva and am so enjoying this journey with them.
This series has me hooked. I love the romance between Eva & Clive. The second chance nature of it. As if fated. I love the mystery. Who is the informant? Trust no one. And the friendship between Eva & her girls; Izzy & Allie. I must read book 3 now!! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
OUTSTANDING…the second book in the Series is even better than the first if that is possible.
The story of Clive and Eva continue as Eva is becoming aware that she is being followed and of the FBI presence. with Clive knowing this and holding the information back from Eva how badly will that damage their burgeoning relationship.
The storyline is excellent and the suspense factor is heating up.
Again, I know you will love this book if you like romance and suspense.
Loving Eva is book 2 in this author’s In The Shadows trilogy. Therefore, you need to read book 1, Chasing Eva first. I will tell you that while I did enjoy book 1, I liked Loving Eva more. The characters were still just as likable and the chemistry between them did not waiver.
Eva is still a strong, spunky, and confident heroine, but she does do some bone-headed things when it comes to her safety that I want to shake her. Things happen in the book that could make one question Clive, but Eva trusts him. Yet, she does remain cautious.
Clive’s character becomes more developed in this book. I had trouble understating why in book 1 that he was practically in love with her right away just because he had his first kiss with her 15 years ago. The author goes more in depth with their first meeting and it made much more sense as to why he fell for her so quickly. I loved learning more about his background. Some of it left me feeling heartbroken for him.
The secondary characters were more present in this book which I liked. Loving Eva has a lot of suspense and intrigue. The loose ends from book 1 are not tied up. You still don’t know who is the one committing corporate fraud even though there are a few characters who seem more likely than others. The threats are escalating and they are no longer just towards Eva. This book is told predominantly from Clive’s and Eva’s POV, but there are a few short chapters from the culprit’s POV. This book moves at a good pace and I didn’t feel that it ended as abruptly as book 1 or maybe I was just more prepared for it to just end. It doesn’t exactly end in a cliffhanger, but the mystery is still in full force. Book 3, Killing Eva, will be released on October 30, 2018.
I received this book from the author and I voluntarily leave this review.
*3.5 stars!*
And the saga continues! We get more mystery, more drama, and more suspense. With Loving Eva, we start out where book 1 left off.
Clive and Eva’s story gets put to the test with more secrets and obstacles that get in the way. Their love proves strong when they both learn to trust each other and let their pasts go.
The anticipation grows as we get closer to find out who the informant is. I’m interested to see how this story plays out.
This was another enjoyable read in this suspenseful trilogy.
I loved this book. It grabs you where you was left off in the first book and doesn’t let go till the end of the book where you need the next book to see what happens to these amazing characters. So basically the story is one big buildup to another until we get to the explosive climax in killing Eva!! Have to pick up the next book to see what happens! Well done Camellia Hart on another great book. Happy reading!!
This is the second book in the series. I suggest you read Chasing Eva, before you read this one. This book was great! We find that things are improving for Eva on the business front. Her hard work is paying off and she has landed new contracts for her company despite the work of the person who is trying to sabotage her reputation. Her relationship with the utterly delicious Clive, is on fire. Hot sex and steamy chemistry is what these two are all about. The only things bothering Eva are Clive’s ex-girlfriend Silvia, and the fact that he is withholding telling her about a girlfriend from his past named Olivia. Silvia just keeps inserting herself into their lives where she is not wanted. This woman needs to get a clue! Is she just an annoying witch, or is she up to something more sinister? Then you have Olivia, who was Clive’s girlfriend back when he was eighteen, I believe. Eva wouldn’t even know about Olivia if not for her old friend Ryan, who by the way, is not a real fan of Clive’s. He thinks Clive had something to do with her death, and can’t wait to spill the beans to Eva. This book is full of twists and turns. I honestly wish Eva were a little more careful at times. I’m yelling at her like, “why are you running after him into a dark tunnel by yourself?” I can’t wait to read the next book, but I am so worried for Eva. Especially since I feel there is going to be water involved, and she is afraid of water since she almost drowned when she was a teenager. These books are so good! There is a lot of suspense and romance
The second book in the series picks up where Chasing Eva left off. The author once again brings an intense, emotional page turner filled with mystery and intrigue as well as the steamy romance. She does a great job developing the story , bringing it to life with her detailed scenes and creating realistic characters and story line. I was captured and held fast from start to finish and left with wanting more at the end. I’m looking forward to the next book. Highly recommend this book/series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This book tells us more about Clive’s past. Eva and Clive are perfect! I highly recommend this story. Can’t wait to read Killing Eva to find out who the informant is.
I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review.
This is the second book in the trilogy.
Though it is better than the first book, it is still not a story that is making me love or care about the characters.
I don’t feel any chemistry between Eva and Clive. Just an obsession, that’s not healthy and a lot of sex.
There is a mysterious dark element to the story, but that particular storyline is moving so slow that it’s actually annoying.
The author has a lot of potential. I just don’t think this story is her best effort.
