In LOVING CHRISTINE,Derek doesn’t believe in miracles, fairytales, or happy endings—but he believes in Christine.

Derek and Christine will touch your heart and emotions all over the place. Their isn’t much that Derek believe in but he does believe in Christine. Derek is an organized man who borders on obsessive and has taken a liking to Christine’s daughter Sally. She is a beautifully spirited girl considering everything going on in their lives. When Derek connects with Christine he is taken from the start but will Christine be able to put her past behind her to connect with Derek for a happily ever after. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Christine Middleton has done the best, as a single mother, for her young daughter Sally. Now, in her relationship with Derek Remington, she has found happiness, but will it last? Her mother left her and her sister when she was five years old and those questions as to why her mother left have never been answered. Was it her fault? Derek never thought he would be a “family man,” but finds that he is delighted with young Sally and falling in love with Christine. Can he help her through the past that still haunts their future? A poignant story of abandonment issues that unless dealt with can continue to cause pain. A beautiful, hopeful holiday or anytime story. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
This was a heartfelt story of a couple, Derek and Christine, but it was so much more. Christine had a sweet, eleven year old daughter that had really grown on Derek. There were also typical mean girl issues which had quite a few repercussions I liked how their relationship clearly showed the ups and downs and how Christine had to deal with her past in order to have a future of any kind with Derek. It was also nice to see Christine reunite with her mom and learn about the other side to her dad’s story. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Christine has moved in with her boyfriend Derek and her eleven-year-old daughter Sally. Christine sometimes feels as if it’s Derek’s house. Derek’s things. Derek’s way of doing things. Derek and Sally are finally getting closer and Christine feels a bit put out. A missing family. An absent father. A wonderful young girl. A ring. An illness. And lots and lots of love.
This is more than just a heartwarming love story. It’s a tale filled with lots of emotions and drama, including coping with some mean girl angst, dealing with abandonment issues and its inherent deep-seated fears, and reconciling a broken family in order to build a new one. In the midst of all this, Christine must learn she can rely on someone else when things get tough, and Derek must learn that the best “perfect” life is often a messy one. While Christine may be teaching Derek there’s more to life than his ideal of home and work, Derek’s teaching her the true meaning of family.
You’re sure to enjoy this entertaining holiday romance. The characters are well-drawn and appealing, and the storyline is fast-paced and engaging. I highly recommend this very touching and endearing love story. I promise it’s one that will keep your interest from start to finish.
