Beth-Ann Miller returns to her Tennessee mountain home to find chaos erupting between her survivalist family and their shape-shifting neighbors. Her father is convinced the were-cougar clan is responsible for the murders occurring in their area and interrogates one of the shifters, Boone Evans, her childhood sweetheart. When Boone declares several members of his shifter family have gone missing … missing including his little brother, Beth-Ann suspects someone else is behind both the murders and abductions.
Boone never expected to see Beth-Ann again. When she frees him from her father’s cabin and promises to help find his brother, Boone doesn’t plan on rekindling their passionate love affair or facing the pain of past mistakes. Nor does he plan on coming face to face with the man responsible for altering his family’s life forever.
With men hunting the were-cougars, can Beth-Ann and Boone risk all to have a future together? Or is loving Boone too high a price to pay?

Looking for a great paranormal romance with cougar shifters? Look no further! You have a rural mountain setting. A clan of survivalist humans (including Beth Anne’s family) who have moved out to the middle of nowhere because they don’t trust life in the cities. A clan of shapeshifters who have been persecuted and hunted (Boone’s family). People start getting killed. Shapeshifters start disappearing. Both sides blame the other and pretty soon, all out war erupts. But Boone and Beth Anne, who were high school sweethearts, band together to try to figure out who’s really behind the abductions to save both their families. This had a little of everything—suspense, family drama, romance, twists and turns. A great start to a series!

Great story about childhood friends turn to first timers then to lovers. Boone is a were cougar when his father and their clan moved onto a night safe mountain, a mountain that is owned by Beth-Ann’s family. Their fathers struck a truce for peace between the humans and the shifters. Boone and Beth-Ann became inseparable until a hard and sensitive event happened to cause bad words to be spilled and Beth-Ann went away to college. 2 years and some months later she’s back and their peaceful life is torn up with disappearances and murders on both sides of the mountain. Can the bad blood be forgotten between the two neighbors or will the past of the shifters come back and no man, woman or child is safe from harm? Will Boone and Beth and their father’s get to the bottom of things and stops more bloodshed?
This is a great shifter story. Imagine being the daughter of a survivalist and being in love with a shapeshifter. People are being killed. Shapeshifters are disappearing. There is a mystery to be solved. The characters are great and the story is good. I enjoyed this book very much and would highly recommend it.

Beth-Ann and Boone had been a couple until something happened to break them up. Now 2 years later she has come back home and things are not what they should be.
Beth-Ann and Boone go off on a journey to see if they can find out what is happening to his family and friends and hers. Boone never expects to be betrayed by someone close to him. Boone and Beth-Ann are caught from a group of people who want to rid the world of shifters and they try to get Boone to shift so they can get his blood. Before Beth-Ann was caught she called her father to let him know what was going on. Beth-Ann’s father Geffory, and Boone’s father Patrick get together and make a plan to save Boone and Beth-Ann. When everything is over with Beth-Ann and Boone are both hurt. She is in the hospital and when she wakes up she asks about Boone and is told that he is alive but his father took him back home. She asks what happened to her and her father tells her and then she moves and is in pain and her father tells her that he didn’t allow them to give her anything for the pain. She said “Dear God, Why? Dad” he tells her that he didn’t think she would want it to affect the baby. She is shocked, to say the least. Her father asks “is Boone is the father?” She tells him, yes and he tells her that he will find out where Boone and his family when.
Will Beth-Ann find Boone and go see him?
What will Boone’s reaction be to the news of Beth-Ann being pregnant? Will he be happy or will he be upset?
