Jake and Abigail’s story kept me hooked from the very beginning. Action, suspense, loss and romance add up to a great story I couldn’t put down.
I really enjoyed this book!! I loved the way Jake and Abigail met, and that their journey wasn’t quite as predictable. I liked the action, with her life being in danger, and later, Jake’s. I especially liked that in the last chapter we know more than just a wedding!!
I received a complimentary copy of the book, did not need to leave a review. The opinion expressed is all mine.
Abigail’s Aunt Virginia was trying to wear her down. “He’s a respectable doctor, Abigail.” “He’s forty-four years old,” said Abigail. “When I think of those colorless eyes of his…his bad breath and clammy hands?” paraphrased but you get the message. Just eighteen years olf and her aunt wanted to marry her off to this disgusting man. No, she was just waiting for her brother to send her a note for her to join him out west. She was worried though because she had not heard from Jonathan in a few months and so she decided to make her plans and go find him!
So her adventure begins and it seemed fate stepped in when she was on the stage that was attacked by outlaws and one man saved her. Yep, Jake Morgan saved her and boy is he handsome! Luckily he would take her to Sweet Creek and she could not wait to find her brother.
Such a delightful story that make me smile, sigh and anxious to see what happened. Kristen Iten always pulls me into her stories from the beginning and I know you will feel the same! See if these two can ever come together and if Abby’s brother is there waiting for her…
This is Abigail and Jake’s story and is Book #1 in this series. The characters are well developed and there is lots of action and elements to the story including some surprises, secrets, danger, mystery, robbery, evil men, romance and a HEA. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Abigail don`t want to marry a man a lot older and totally not likable. She leaves her aunt to go to her brother in the West. After an attack on her stagecoach she got rescued by Jake. Their connection is instant but sadly they can`t be together coz of problems in Jake`s past. Now Abigail needs to rescue Jake.
This was such a fun story to read, lovely characters. Can’t wait to read who is gonna fall in love next.
A fun, clean Western romance, this story was upbeat with a feisty heroine and a hero that just could not help himself from falling for her. At the very least Jake vows to ensure she reaches her destination safely after her stage coach is attacked. However, when Abigail learns not only the truth about her brother but also about Jake, she decides that the easiest thing to do would be to turn around and go back to where she came from. But when events transpire against her, Abigail realises that there is more to both stories than she first expected. The book was a light, quick read, with adventure and romance and a happy ending. It is well written without any obvious errors, which is always a plus in my view. I received a copy of this book for free as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
