Escape to the beach with the sizzling romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author, Lila Monroe! Will Cassidy is hot, infuriating, and the guy behind the biggest heart-stomping humiliation of my life. He’s also hosting my BFF’s destination wedding at his super-luxe tropical resort, so short of a hurricane or outbreak of the plague (here’s hoping), I’m stuck within t̶o̶n̶g̶u̶e̶’s̶ arm’s reach … t̶o̶n̶g̶u̶e̶’s̶ arm’s reach of him for the next seven days.
But I’m not a naive college girl anymore, and there’s no way I’m falling for his (many) charms again. I just have to ignore the romantic wedding shenanigans, his miraculous abs, all those intimate beach sunsets… And did I mention those abs?
Maybe a wild vacation fling is exactly what I need to even the score… But between the scorching chemistry and all-inclusive margaritas, I’m getting drunk on love. Which definitely isn’t part of the plan.
Can I keep my heart zipped – even if my bikini bottoms are lost somewhere on that nude beach? And how do you let go of the past when you’re holding on tight to the past’s (very ripped) torso?
Find out in the sexy, hilarious new romantic comedy from Lila Monroe!

Just when things were starting to progress from friends to more with Ruby and Will back in college, the letter she pushed under his door expressing her feelings for him, doesn’t go as expected. It actually bombs badly and they lose contact with each other. Ten years later, when Ruby is jumping on a plane to be maid of honor for her bestie Brooke, who does she happen to bump into, but Will Cassidy. He is hosting the wedding as Brookes fiancé is a college buddy of Will’s and it’s his resort they are holding the destination wedding at.
Even though I enjoyed reading this installment of the series, I didn’t love it as much as the previous two. I didn’t feel Will and Ruby had enough time to fully convince me of their relationship, I needed more substance. I was on board with them becoming a couple once I found out of their misunderstanding and I liked where it was leading to but it was all a little rushed at the end. Also, there was no epilogue to give me a sense of what their future was going to look like, which leaves me feeling a little flat. It’s definitely worth the read for some laughs and a good contemporary romance.
Lila Monroe’s LOVE STRUCK is a fast fun read. Ruby; workaholic Ruby, is taking a vacation to attend her BFF’s wedding. Running late to catch her flight, Ruby literally runs into the guy who totally humiliated and spurned her confession of love for him. AND that is just the beginning of the wedding adventures.
LOVE STRUCK is one of Monroe’s Lucky In Love Series. It is a light-hearted, humorous, adventure that is a great temporary escape from the chaos of today’s reality. Enjoy. I am moving on to another book in the series.
This is a cute story – love derailed by misunderstandings over and over but happily resolved in the end. It was a fun story to watch all the friends as they prepare for the main character’s best friend’s wedding at a resort owned by her college crush.
I enjoyed this book
At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of this book. I know I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Buuuut, we all do. I’ve recently read a number of books with the cartoony cover–they were bad. I had very low expectations. I also kept putting off reading it. This is part of my own library, but a friend of mine gave the ebook. I decided to forgo my biases and at least read the first three chapters. I’m glad I did.
The book is funny. Ruby’s antics and miscommunication with Will just adds to the hilarity. Her circle of friends just stir up more laughs with hot guy pics being thrown at the bride to be instead of hiring strippers. Their drunk antics. Ruby was burned by Will before. She wants to remember how much and deep he hurt her in college. Will wants her to remember their happy memories from college when they used to hang out and study. And their most recent memories and feelings that occur this week leading up to the wedding.
Ruby has a huge secret. Will doesn’t know what to make of comments Ruby made to Brooke about him. Their miscommunication continues…can they finally get on the right lines of communication?
This was an easy, summer read. It was a little too drawn out in places but not bad enough to stop reading.
An enjoyable read.
I always worry that the reveal of “what went wrong” won’t be satisfying, but this perfectly hit the mark. Great writing—a funny page turner.
it’s a cute and simple read. Perfect for the summer. It seemed a little long but overall sweet.
I thought the story was very entertaining and easy to read. Characters were fun and made you smile and laugh out loud.
