Mark Murray loves his girlfriend, Rebecca Lucio, but she doesn’t love him. She believes their love has withered away and she has already fallen for another man, but she struggles to formally end her relationship with Mark. But Mark knows everything already—the lies, the deceit, the cheating. He has a plan to punish Rebecca in the most violent, disgusting way possible. He is going to make her … make her sick… unbelievably sick.
Jon Athan, the author of Dr. Sadist and Scattershot, reinvents the definition of ‘lovesick’ in this disgusting, gag-inducing, and extremely violent horror novel.

This is one of the most putrid, vile, sick, disgusting, nauseating and disturbingly-realistic books I have read in quite some time. And, I mean that in a completely complimentary way! If you don’t have a strong stomach, keep your chuck bucket close!
The places that Athan’s literary mind goes to scares the crap out of me… And, I loved every single minute of every single page!!! So, I don’t know whose head is more messed up… Mine? Or His?
I haven’t been so thoroughly disturbed by a book in a very long time. Not since the early career of another indie extreme horror author who happens to be British, but I won’t put his name here. If you are familiar with this genre, you know who I mean. This is not the first Jon Athan book I have read and it won’t be the last. His books are so brutal that I have to space out my reading of them. Why read them then? I find inspiration in the strangest places. The reason I love horror and extreme horror is that I love intense emotions, the raw quality of these books appeal to me and pretty much anything goes. I like to explore and break limits and am always a fan of anyone who can think outside the box. Mr. Athan certainly does that and he’s an excellent wordsmith too. Is he disturbed or brilliant? I think every reader has to decide for themselves. My money’s on the latter, wink-wink. There is a real gross-out factor to this book, my gag-reflex is not what it used to be, but I could handle it all things considered. It’s a dementedly bold and compelling read.
Very, very dark and twisted. Perfect for fans of cringy horror.
It’s been a full day since I finished listening to this audiobook, and I can’t stop thinking about it. There were so many wtf moments, moments where I cringed, and moments where I was like Nooo. It also made me rethink ever eating at a fast food restaurant.
After Mark finds out that his girlfriend is cheating on him, he’s devastated. That pain quickly turns to anger and then a desire for revenge. He kidnaps her, holding her hostage where he uses different, worsening methods of torture every day. As he spirals deeper and deeper into his madness, his methods get worse.
Narration was great. Characters were vivid and stood out. Especially Mark and his depravity.
This isn’t a book I would recommend to people who can’t handle gore. If cringey horror is your style though, I highly recommend this short read.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
this aduiobook was nasty and twisted, I have mix feelings about it, i don’t really read or listen to anything this graphic however it looked different and was offered free so why not, it was good I didn’t care for most of the subject matter however the narrator was really good and it is a fresh take on the Apocalypse or maybe it’s just new to me? I received this aduiobook and decided to voluntarily review
