“This book will break you, then slowly put you back together. It is my read of the YEAR” Goodreads reviewer.I couldn’t do broken.Broken is what he was.Broken is what I will always be.To his eyes, that held so much despair, I couldn’t look for long.To his fist, that clenched so tightly, like he was locking away the sorrow. To his lips, that never uttered a word from the years of heartbreak. And … never uttered a word from the years of heartbreak.
And despite it all, I couldn’t stay away from him.
It was like he was drowning in an ocean, and I wanted to grab his face and whisper to his lips, “Don’t forget to breathe.”
This was how I fell for a man. A man who was so lovesick, I was afraid he would drown me in that same ocean he was lost in.

4.5 stars…ending felt a little to rushed.
Wow! An emotional roller coaster. Keegan the heroine of the book was broken after having to endure so much pain and anguish. Kohl charges into her life just when she’s trying to piece it back together. She was introduced to him by one of his best friends Macca. He knew Macca liked her, but there was a chemistry that he couldn’t ignore. Kohl’s has his own tormented past, that drags him into the pits of hell. There is no doubt that these two have a magnetic pull, the real question is can Kohl be the man that Keegan needs? She’s been traumatised by a cruel love, this time she seeks the kind of love that’s unconditional and lasting. There’s one helluva twist I didn’t see coming, which pulls on a thread threatening to undo all of the mending of her broken heart.
“Don’t forget to breathe”
Emotional, I think I read Lovesick a little apprehensive of what was going to unfold, I was quickly pulled into the lives of Keegan, Khol and then Macca, three main characters that had magnetism each for different reasons.
Lovesick took me on two peoples journey of healing, love, friendships, heartache and heartwarming moments submerged in an intoxicating plot within a book I couldn’t put down.
Lovesick is so different to previous books I’ve read by TL Smith and I absolutely loved the diversity in her characters from previous books. I can honestly say I would pick up a book bt TL Smith without reading the blurb and I know I’ll love it.
Such a heartfelt story, I felt every emotion from the characters and my heart did ache at one point.
This is one of those story’s that make you ponder and through the journey of these characters it made me think that sometimes some people enter your life for a reason and you need to embrace it.
Kee: Does he feel the way I feel? Can he feel what I’m feeling? I know it’s wrong, I know it’s fast. It feels like a hurricane that came from nowhere.
A beautiful story is written in each persons pov, some parts I thought jumped forward a little too much or didn’t give me enough background on the characters to paint a bigger picture before it all began but overall I adored this book.
Kee: He helped me heal and I helped him, at least I hope I did in some small way.
A sad and emotional story that will tear you up. This story wrecked me. Two people who were torn apart by their past are trying to find their new normal.
Keegan is starting over. She left behind her old life but still feels the effects. She’s working hard at overcoming, but she still has triggers. She’s working in her cafe that she co-owns with her sister and she meets Khol, Macca and Brice. They are three sex as hell friends who run the exclusive club just across the street.
An instant connection with Khol, draws her in, but he’s closed off. He’s dragging around his own past which leaves him incredibly sad and lonely. A tragedy so great that it’s suffocating him.
Two people completely broken down by life find each other. Within one another they find some peace and a little bit of hope for a future.
It’s not what you think. You couldn’t possibly imagine. I was completely taken by surprise. It was an emotional roller coaster of hope, loss and love. This story will haunt me. You feel the sadness and every loss. You’ll wish for them to find their happiness. It’s a journey. It’s raw with the emotion. Brace yourself.
A beautiful written story.
All the feels!
Loved this book. The characters seem so real life. I can’t wait to read the series.!!!!
It was too fast paced for me. A good story with great potential but i felt like the author couldn’t wait to finish it. I like my stories to build, to make me feel the character’s emotions. I didn’t find that here.
A battered woman and a broken man. You always have to prepare yourself when you read TL, your emotions are going to be all over the place. You won’t know which way is up.
She doesn’t write pretty, they’re always heartbreaking and painful. I do wonder when I pick up her book, why do I do it to myself? but when you come out of the other end you’re grateful you have read another great story.
This is no different, I won’t tell you much as not to spoil this story needs to be experienced.
Again….TL Smith has done it again. She has completely slayed me. My heart is hurting. A read that has left me completely broken, but for all the right reasons.
Lovesick….Words to describe it. Raw, dark, confronting, brutal, breathtakingly beautiful.
Filled with so much emotion you can physically feel it page after page.
It took my breath away.
We meet Kohl.
A man who has met that one person we all hope in life we find.
He found his soul mate.
Anika is his absolute everything.
She will be his forever.
We meet Keegan.
A broken woman who has lived a life no woman should.
She thought she found the love of her life. She thought she found the one. She hoped she had.
She loved him with everything she had. But his fists loved her more. His evil loved her more.
We meet Macca.
A guy who has the looks, the money, the career.
But the one thing he wants is simply unattainable. It’s within his reach, so much so he can touch it if he wants to, but he won’t. He can’t.
Three people, complete opposites.
Three people all with dark and painful pasts.
Three people whose lives are about to cross.
Three lives that will be changed forever.
Three lives that will find their ‘epic love’.
Guys please you need to read Lovesick. It’s unique, it’s hardcore, it’s heartbreaking. It’s all consuming. Written with such depth and emotion I promise you it will trap you from the prologue. You won’t put it down.
And the concept of the whole novel…..The story it’s telling….The moral of the whole thing….It will leave you speechless, breathless and everything in between.
TL….What can I say other than thank you. You’ve created perfection with this novel and it will stay with me always.
5 stars
I loved this book. The turn of events was actually a shock for me, and I’m hard to shock. However, I would have liked a little more book at the end. Read it and you’ll see what I mean. Overall great book.
‘Would I ever be pretty enough or smart enough for him’
TL Smith does a phenomenal job writing with so much detail and emotion that you will absolutely feel like you are apart of this book.
I love it when I can connect with a book on an emotional level and I did Shed some tears a couple of times throughout this book. I experienced that stab of pain you get involved your heart and that sick feeling you get deep down in the pit of your stomach when something so bad happens you wonder if your ever going to survive it.
This is the emotional yet gripping story of Keegan (or Kee as her family know her) her story will tug at you heart strings while ripping your heart out. The journey of Keegan is not for the faint hearted, it’s about a girl who is to broken to function on most days, a girl who wants that epic love (that this is IT) we all close our eyes and wish for and a girl who wonders if she will ever be able to leave what makes her unhappy.
Jamie, Khol & Macca these men each play a role in Kee’s life, there are some good, some bad and downright ugly times but don’t think for one second you think you know how this is going to end because you will be wrong. Once you start though you won’t be able to stop because you will be hooked.
I cannot recommend this book enough, it is RAW & emotionally Intelligent. It is also cleverly written from dual perspectives and transcends from past to present in a way that flows and helps you as the reader understand the backstory.
