Jonas Willits has it all—the good looks, the prestigious name, and the massive international corporation. He could have any woman on the planet, but to his family’s dismay, he remains stubbornly single. They’ve tried to set him up and, when that doesn’t work, they’ve even resorted to trickery. Nothing is effective because Jonas has only loved one woman his entire life but she died years ago and … and he’ll never get over her.
With the help of strangers who grew into friends, Darby started a new life for herself and her child. For the most part, she’s content but there are times every day that she feels she’s missing an important piece of her life. Since she can’t remember the past, though, it remains a mystery. One day a man shows up, announces that she belongs to him, and drags her away. Darby’s scared—not only for her son, but also her heart.

This is on the best seller list for a reason, and the reason is that us romance lovers are here for secret baby stories by amazing authors like Ella Goode! The cover is perfect, the story is amazing, the characters are drool worthy, and there may be a baby that is also the star of the show. I am on my second re-read because Darcy and Jonas kept drawing me back for a second read lmao. A+++++ work Ms. Goode!
I adored this book. It was full of angst and intrigue and the truest of love. The characters were great and the storyline was wonderful.
Okay…
I’m all for short novellas and have no issues with them, however, with this one I really feel it needed to be longer to fully work out all the issues that happened in this one.
I can also usually suspend reality when it comes to a lot of romance books, but one thing I just can’t get over is the fact Darby and her employers seriously just let Jonas grab her kid up and walk out with him. She has amnesia, so she has no idea who he is…I’m sorry, but I don’t care how attractive I find you, the minute you pick up my kids without my consent we’re going to war.
Jonas wasn’t my favorite hero that Ella Goode has given us, and I’ve read pretty much everything this author has wrote. For all the love he proclaimed to have for Darby he sure was quick to condemn her and never once thought about listening to her side of things. From the way I was reading, it sounds like Darby and the grandmother had problems before she went missing and Jonas knows that his grandmother can be ruthless…so why did he never consider that she may have done what was necessary to “take out the trash” per say.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**
Even though his Grandmother has been pressing him to marry and have heirs, Jonas Willits knows he wont. The only woman he loved died and he will never love another. When he attends a party at his friends, he sees Darby again. He wants answers, she is alive and well and has his son.
This was a fun quick read. I liked how the story unfolded and did not feel like the story was rushed. Jonas is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Darby. Fun quickie.
I loved this story. It was a short but entertaining and enjoyable story. The characters were interesting and likable. Grams was awful and I’m glad she got some comeuppance.

There are a lot of feels in this story. I loved that Jonas was all-in the whole time, even when he thought Darby was dead. Darby was very brave. Jax was the cutest. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.
