I read somewhere once that you only get one true love in a lifetime,And mine—mine was Wyatt Slade.Fierce, wild, reckless…that boy was my everything.Until he shattered my heart. He was my first. The day he slipped that promise ring on my finger,I gave him all of me—there was no going back.So when I saw him kiss my best friend, I knew I had to get the hell out.The thing about growing up in a … out.
The thing about growing up in a one-stoplight town,
When you finally come back home, everybody knows.
It feels like every corner here has a story—a memory.
One I’ve been running from for ten years.
But the moment my eyes land back on Wyatt,
It’s like I’ve fallen in love all over again.
A stolen kiss drenched in tequila sets off a firestorm,
One I’m not sure I’ll survive.
A decade spent running from my heart and here I am back in his arms,
Ready to embrace a new future, and let our past go.
I swore I’d never trust him again,
He swore he’d never hurt me again.
Never say never…

Second Chance at Love
High school sweethearts, Wyatt & Destiny have the instant attraction for each other & are destined to have their HEA. When Wyatt is caught in a mistaken identity incident, their world crashes & both leave their small town. Years later, they return home & they face their past, clearing up on what really happened back then. Wyatt continues to woo Destiny, trying to recapture their love together. Even with past classmates trying to destroy their strong bond, these 2 young loves are soulmates & will not waste another day apart. Having the flashbacks has helped clarify in understanding more of their current thoughts & actions of Wyatt & Destiny. A lot of deep emotions in this novel which Alexis Winter has captured quite well.
I’m looking forward to reading the next novel, especially finding out more about this mysterious new sibling who wants a piece of the Slade fortune.

This book was epic. This is Book Four of the Slade Brothers series. This is my favorite book thus far in the series. This book tells the story of Wyatt Slade and Destiny Parker. Wyatt and Destiny were high school sweethearts. It was prom night and Wyatt was very drunk and made a huge mistake that ended their relationship. Years later, they both show up in their hometown but for different reasons. Neither of them have forgotten about the love they once shared. Can Wyatt convince Destiny to give him one more chance? This book is a must read and I highly recommend.
I normally don’t like second chance stories, they seem to follow the same outlines, but I loved Wyatt and and Destiny. High school sweethearts with the future ahead of them, but a drunken mistake sends them off on separate paths to try and live life without each other. Things happen and they are both back in town, not because they want to, but as Destiny’s BFF points out, it is fate! I recommend you read this story to figure out how Wyatt and Destiny get their second chance! This may be my favorite Slade brother’s story!
I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
This was book 4 about the Slade brothers. This is the first time I’ve read from 5hos author and she didnt disappoint! Loved how the characters interacted and the plot.
This is such a fantastic series. I absolutely love these brothers and Alexis is doing a great job writing them. This is Wyatt and Destiny’s story. These two were high school sweethearts and broke up due to a drunken mistake. Years later, they are both back home, and when Wyatt finds out she’s back, too, he puts his all to get her to forgive him and give them a second chance. They may have broken up, but fate always gets the last word. I loved the connection they still had with each other, even if Destiny tried to fight it. These two are souls mates and they are the Each other’s other half This is such a great read. Fall in love with the Slade brothers. While they can be read as a stand-alone, I feel they are better enjoyed from the beginning. I can’t wait for Hudson’s story.
A beautifully written story that will keep you interested from the first chapter to the last.
I’d recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18yrs.

Steamy and poignant second chance romance but also a cautionary tale
Wyatt Slade is going home. To the place where his family lives and runs a business, and to where he made the biggest mistake of his life on Prom night. He drinks too much. You’d think since his father is an alcoholic that he would have better sense, but apparently his errors of judgement occur after having imbibed too much.
Destiny Parker is going home too because her father had a stroke and her parents need help. What she doesn’t want is to run into Wyatt, her former high school lover. Prom night was the end of their relationship but she still can’t get him out of her head. When they meet up again…oooweee! Hot! And it only gets hotter as they get closer. Look out for the town tramp, unresolved issues and secrets.
Some scenes were beautifully written: first meeting at the bar/dance; when Wyatt pleads his case/love in the rain; when he describes where he’d hoped they would be w/o prom night; her reaction to his vision of what might have been; her mom’s advice about not wasting time; his fear of going home from the hospital w/o help; and lastly the chapel scene with Wyatt on his knees.
I loved how flash-backs were used to show us how things happened between Wyatt and Destiny when they were younger. Gives the reader insight into how and why they react the way they do. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended. I give it 4.5 super stars.
I loved this second chance romance with every bit of my heart! It was definitely the kind of story that makes you want to pack up and head back to your home town on the off chance you might run into an ex and rekindle an old romance.
Wyatt and Destiny had such a sweet story that was extremely sweet and emotional. I was absolutely rooting for these two and I couldn’t be happier with the ending. I do feel like Wyatt might be my favorite brother in this series and Destiny was a great female lead. I highly recommend this story and this whole series!

Wyatt and Destiny have a hard road a head of them. I love second chance romances and they both come back home to realize they still have feelings for each other. There is some suspense and as with every Alexis Winter book, you will on edge and enthralled with the story. I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is explosive and it was nice seeing how they would overcome the obstacles set in place.
Wyatt and Destiny’s love story will make you laugh, cry, sometimes get angry, but in the end it will make your heart soar. Wyatt has to prove to Destiny that he has always loved her and will do everything to win back her love and trust. Destiny has to trust her heart and feelings for Wyatt, which have never stopped loving him, that he is still the man she is meant to be with for ever. I can not wait for the final Slade Brother story. If you have not read the first three books, you must get to know the rest of family. You will not be disappointed.
This is book4 of the 5 part Slade Brothers series by Alexis Winter and although part of a series about brothers, I think each book can be read as standalone. Wyatt and Destiny were teenage sweethearts until Wyatt makes a bonehead mistake. They go their separate ways, Wyatt, a roadie for a rock band and Destiny out of town to college and starting her life. They both end up coming back home, run into each other, but can they put the past behind them and work on a future together. The story is well paced, steamy, and has a bit of drama. A fun, se*y read.

I absolutely adore this book! A tale of love written in the stars but pulled apart by a misunderstanding and stubbornness. True love, soul mates, kindred spirits…this story is all about how love prevails and destiny brings you right back to where you are meant to be. I love how both characters never really moved on and never gave their hearts to anyone else. This is a newer author to me but I fell in love with the writing and characters. (Wont be a new author for long! Downloading the next story already!)
One of my favorite authors, she knows how to grab your attention and emotions. Wyatt and Destiny are high school sweethearts. Misunderstanding will break up the couple during prom. She’ll leave for college and not look back. He’ll go off to play in a rock band. Fate brings both of them back home to help their parents. Can Wyatt finally get to tell his side of the story to Destiny? Can she trust him again?

Are they meant to be?
Destiny and Wyatt were high school sweethearts, but when she sees him kissing another girl that’s it! Of course it was due to a case of mistaken identity. Several years later they both end up returning to their hometown as a result of family circumstances. Will they be able to put the past behind and listen to each other’s explanations? Will they find the happiness they are seeking? Well-depicted characters and a well-written story make this a delightful read.

Loves Me Not is my very first Alexis Winter book and Small Town Romance and I have to say I fell in love with the characters and the story plot. Wyatt has me from the very first page with his sweet, loving personality. I’m so grateful we got his POV when things went south at prom in the beginning because it helped me understand him and not hate him for his mistake. I absolutely loved Destiny and was rooting for her and Wyatt’s happiness. They are both amazing characters who have developed throughout the book and are very genuine. There was great chemistry from the two main characters from the very first chapter, I loved getting a peek into the secondary character’s lives (I definitely need to go and read the other Slade brother’s books), and adored the relationships between family. This was an epic story about love, forgiveness, family, and moving forward with life without negative feelings.

The story had potential and was kind of boring. It was okay, I wished the author did not drag it that much. It is worth checking out.

A captivating read from beginning to end! An exciting storyline that leaves you breathless wanting more! Sexy steam filled chemistry! Emotionally heartfelt, enjoyable and fun! One heck of a twisted, intense rollercoaster ride! An amazing must read!
I have loved all the books in the Slade brother series but I think is by far the most emotional not only for the romance between Destiny and Wyatt but also for the change in Destiny’s family due to her father’s stroke maybe because we went through similar in our family and the upheaval it caused
Wyatt and Destiny where school yard sweethearts he was her everything and her first but when a drunken kiss from Wyatt to another woman destroyed Destiny’s trust she fled to college and never returned. Now ten years later she has had to return due to her father’s stroke and one of the first people she meets is Wyatt He knows that he broke her heart but he also knows she is the only one for him but can he win her love back or did he destroy it. You will have to read to go on this emotional journey with them.
Alexis Winter has written a 5-a star book. Destiny and Wyatt were a couple back in high school until a misunderstanding broke them up on the night of prom. Now years later they are both back in their home town without knowing the other is there. Julie was Destiny’s best friend and she is the reason Destiny and Wyatt broke up. Destiny caught Wyatt kissing Julie at the prom. Wyatt said it was a mistake but she will not listen to him. She won’t listen to Julie either the night it happened. Destiny left to go to college and now she is back home to help her mom with her dad since he has had a stroke. Destiny sees Julie when she stops at the bakery to get some muffins for her dad. Julie wants to get together but Destiny said she, not that night since it was her first night home but she would do it the next night. Julie runs into Wyatt and she tells him that Destiny is back in town and lets him know that they are going out that night and where they will be. Destiny forgives Julie and when Julie tells her that she saw Wyatt that day, she asks “Destiny if she ever talked to him?” Destiny tells her that no they are over. While out Destiny starts to feel strang and Julie tells her that Wyatt just walked in and Destiny asks what should she do? Wyatt walks up to Destiny and she said hi to him. He tries to talk to her but she doesn’t want to talk. All the feelings she had for him come back to her and she doesn’t want to deal with them. Wyatt’s feelings are still there and he decides that he will do anything to get her back.
Will Destiny ever give Wyatt the chance to explain what happened on prom night and give him a second chance?
Can Wyatt prove to Destiny that she is the only one for him and get her back?
This was a wonderful book to read and I would recommend it to anyone.
