Loves Enduring Promise covers Marty and Clarks small family growing as new babies were born into the household and two young girls were adopted into the family. The story continued on over the years as the children grew into young adults and the girls married young men from the community. Readers saw the town grow as a school and church was built. Years passed and the book ended with Missy marrying Will LaHaye and getting ready to move further west to start a new life.
This is the kind of book that this reader can get swept up into the story. I really enjoyed reading this beautiful classic story of a family that lived their lives through the good and bad things that came their way. God was the head of their humble home. Love abounded between the family members and neighbors. Marty and Clark were loving parents who raised their children to be responsible adults. I can’t wait to read Loves Long Journey!
This book can be read by elementary school students, youth and adults. It’s good for family reading. Clean and inspirational reading. Highly recommended by this reader.
This book is part of my personal library. A review was not requested but since I love the book I’m more than happy to recommend it to others. All opinions expressed here in this review are my true feelings about the book.

This is the second book in the Love Comes Softly series of books. . You end up loving and becoming a part of the neighborhood-family that is within the cover of this book. Reading this book opens the door to the next book and you won’t be lost or behind just feels like your walking into a kitchen and sitting down to a cup of coffee to visit. If you don’t have access to the first book you ‘can’ pick this one up and go with it, but I would really recommend reading the first one simply because there are ‘small’ references throughout this book that makes since if you’ve read the first one. But it’s not really a big deal if you haven’t read it.
AND if you are a fan of the movie forget everything you saw in the movie. I had read and feel in love with the books before I ever watched the movies and I was VERY disappointed in the movies. And most everyone I’ve ever talked with that loved the books feel the same way. The movies are great! But you have to put aside that they are ‘based’ on these books. As loosely based is for lack of better words is what the movies are to these books. Only really using the characters names and a few instances but nothing alike. I promise you if you love to read you will LOVE these books.
One thing about this series of books is it helps, through the characters, to remind us the readers of our Faith in our God. Or reinstalls our belief in HIM. Reminders that no matter what in life good and bad times that everything comes for a reason and in HIS way. And in this first book Marty even finds her way to him and understands her ‘turning her life over to HIM’.
And yes I would recommend this series to a preteen advanced reader. And when my own daughters were 9 and 10 I read to them from this series and when my oldest daughter couldn’t wait to find out what happened she took off with the rest of the series. A great series for them.
I have read this book a few times in the past, this time I listened to it on CD. The lady that read it I felt didn’t do a very well job. Her voice is to ‘old’ for the characters and it sounded like she had a dry mouth most of the time as you could hear a ‘smacking’ of sorts in the back ground. HOWEVER, with that being said it was nice to sit and listen to this very special book be read to me when I didn’t have the time to sit with a hard copy of the book myself. So if you like to listen to books don’t over look this one simply because of the way this lady read it as soon you can over look the way she reads and get into the story and enjoy it

Continued story of Marty along with her family. Quite a bit different from the movie but actually I liked it better! Looking forward to the next in the series!
