Love’s Emerging Faith by Sharon Hughson is the twentieth novel in A First Street Church Romance series (and third in Texas Homecoming). Each book can be read as a standalone. Bailey Travers was abused by his father and his only remaining relative is his sister, Tess. When Bailey learns that their father has been released from prison, he knows the man will head straight for the ranch the siblings inherited. Bailey is determined to protect his sister who is not aware of the extent of the man’s cruelty. Jazlyn Rolle, Bailey’s girlfriend and a paralegal, finds a young runaway boy in Sweet Grove, Texas. He was separated from his sister in the foster care system. Jazlyn learns that many siblings suffer the same fate and she wants to find a solution. I thought Love’s Emerging Faith was well-written and it moved along at a nice pace. This story touches on the sensitive topic of child abuse and how it affects a person for the rest of their life. We also get to see how the foster care system works and the difficulty of keeping siblings together while they are in the system. My favorite phrase from Love’s Emerging Faith is “Just because you can’t see God working doesn’t mean He isn’t.” It can be difficult to have faith when there is such cruelty in the world. It is hard to understand why God allows it (free will). I thought this was an inspiring story. Love’s Emerging Faith is a moving story that will touch your heart.
Sweet story about sad situation of child abuse. The author did an awesome job with this situation.
This book was heartfelt and very close to home for me.
Some may find it very hard to read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this beautiful love story of Jaz and Bailey and the ups and downs of their relationship. The story also deals with child abuse and problems with the foster system. The author did a great job of how she wrote about these issues. This is a book worth reading.
Sharon Hughson is a new to me author but one I want to follow. She has taken a tough subject, child abuse and neglect, and made a love story with a believable happy ending. Bailey’s childhood had been rough and he did his best to protect his sister, Tess, from the reality of it. Jaz has spent her life living her beloved brother’s dream. Together they make a formidable pair and find a path of their own. I enjoyed reading this book.
This is an inspirational story that focuses on children who are abused and how it affects their lives forever. It also showcased the foster care system and how siblings may be separated from each other because there are not enough families and homes for them to be together.
The characters of Bailey and Jaz were wonderful and the way Sharon Hughson wrote about this topic touched my heart. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Love’s Emerging Faith is a very inspirational book. I loved Bailey, Jaz, Tess and Javier. This story is about faith, love, finding your joy, overcoming odds and being the best that you can be. I was swept up in chapter one and did not glance up until I read THE END! Actually I hope it is not the end. Maybe Ms. Hughson will tell Tess and Javier’s story. If you like books about people who trust God to help them through their life travels, this is a book for you.
A very good story, it was well written and I loved that it was faith based. I would certainly recommend it to others. I would rate it at a 4.5/5
I’ve read all three books about Jaz and Bailey and I have to say Sharon Hughson did an amazing job with their books. Abuse can come in many forms, but it is a painful thing to endure, no matter which way it’s dealt out. This author gave us an emotional and heartfelt story that shows how two people can eventually overcome their abuse and move on. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I do recommend these books to everyone that needs to know that you can survive and prosper in the face of adversity. You don’t have to read the first two books to enjoy Love’s Emerging Faith, but I’m so glad I did.
The characters and situations are realistic, very well done. But, I gotta say, my favorite part of this couple is their firm faith in God and each other. Even with trembling knees they trust… and hope.
LOVE’S EMERGING FAITH is the twentieth release in the multi-author First Street Church series. Each story will stand on its own and they can be read in any order, but you will definitely want to read this one after reading LOVE’S LINGERING DOUBTS (#9) and LOVE’S RETURNING HOPE (#15). I wish I had known that.
Overcoming obstacles is easier when love is the driving force. I could end my review with that one line. I know it sums it up, but I don’t think it conveys enough meaning to you who has come to get an idea of whether you want to pick it up.
I did not read the first two books in this series. I wish I had, just because I want to know more about these two amazing people and the friends, family, and neighbors who support and love them.
Though this story isn’t about them coming together, it is about them working together to create something greater than themselves that will benefit their community. It is also about their Happily Ever After that those who have read the first two books have been waiting to see happen. This story is a smile-fest. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t problems and difficulties, but they are quickly resolved with prayer and reliance on friends and each other. I think that was one of my favorite things about this book; They were quick to turn to one another with an apology when needed, an idea, or a hug.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

There are many characters and tons of heartache, but the star of the show is emotion. Hughson fills the canvas with love. Love’s Emerging Faith peels back the layers of life and shows the crowning glory of every relationship. Inspirational read.
This book makes you think of all the children who don’t have parents who love them nor have their lives put together.
Jaz is a veteran who has a heart for these kids and wants to help them.
Bailey is the man who holds Jaz’s heart. He and his sister were once among those children who ended up in the “system”.
This is their story. Oh, did I mention the abusive dad who gets out of prison and heads their way? I thought not.
This is an enjoyable book with heart.
This series just keeps getting better.
Sharon Hughson is one of the reasons why.
This book touches on so many emotions and how the characters handle them.
The plot is amazing and the characters are so real.
when Jaz find a runaways boy she instantly thinks of his boyfriend Bailey, who is currently dealing with his biological father because hi is out of prison. Can they help each other face their fear and have a future together? A beautiful story.
