I loved him first.Jake was my best friend in college-my very straight best friend, until one night he was more. He may have ran after what happened between us, but I never forgot him. When fate puts us in the same place, five years later, he has a fiance by his side. Carina is beautiful, driven, and draws my attention almost as much as he still does. A game of truth or dare leads to a wild night … dare leads to a wild night and a relationship that has all our feelings growing into something bigger than any of us intended.
But what happens when our feelings deepen? Can I handle being with two people?
If it means I can have him, I’ll love them both.

This was such a great story. I enjoyed Jake, Carina and Jackson characters and their story was one that was definitely steamy. Jake and Jackson not only use to be best friends but there was more between them. Jake and Carina share their lives together now. A blast from the past and a fantasy that Carina has leads to a start of something between the three of them that’s amazing when it begins but leads to an ending she didn’t see coming. Jake was in denial, Jackson knew what he wanted and Carina was fun and too understanding at times. Jake’s back and forth was ridiculous and I was happy when he finally made up his mind even if it was at the end of the story. The ending was good but I was hoping for a little more. However, I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series and Carina’s story even more.
Raw, Sexy, Powerful, Beautiful! I really enjoyed this book! I have listened multiple times. Not only is it super hot with epic levels of steamy sex, but there are personal stories that really connected with me. It was a sex-positive adventure of self discovery and owning your pleasure! I love the idea of Voyeur and a life of exploration and trust. My heart hurts for anyone who feels they cannot express who they are and enjoy life to it’s full potential for what they need to make themselves happy (as long as it is consensual). The scenes are HOT AF and I love the narration. I chose this story because of the narrators, and I was most definitely not disappointed. Jo Raylan and Teddy Hamilton are AMAZING! Greg is a fairly new narrator to me, but I really enjoyed his performance and will definitely listen to more. All of the anxiety, heat, anticipation, love, excitement, and everything in between bleeds through with their fantastic delivery. Mistakes are made, but I do love how the characters own their stumbles and move forward. I love the friendships! No spoilers, but Carina is a FREAKING BAD-ASS, SEX-POSITIVE icon of a woman!! I listened to her book, Another, immediately following this and will review separately.
I definitely recommend this book. It is MMF with MF and MM, so if you are not okay with that move along. You are missing out big time, though, IMHO!
This book was phenomenal!!! I loved the friendship between Jake and Carina and how even after everything, they still remained friends. I loved how well they worked together and was open about what they wanted together. Sure it changed when Jackson came into the picture and Jake didn’t handle things well. This is when my heart broke a little for Carina. I knew she was strong enough to bounce back but it still had to sting a little. Her and Jake had some serious chemistry in and out of the bedroom. I was hoping for a little different outcome but it still worked. Jake and Jackson were adorable together though. I’m going back and reading the other books now!
Loved the writing, characters, story and everything! Just so good!
I can’t even explain words how much I loved this book. The second in the Voyeur series and it got me all emotional, but in a good way. Jackson has been in love with his best friend Jake since college, but they had a falling out and lost contact. Several years later, lo and behold, Jake shows back up in his life. Just not in the way he expected it. Carina, a young woman, is with Jake and the three begin an interesting relationship. But Jackson still has feelings for Jake and feels they will never be reciprocated. The depths of emotions I felt while reading this story of unrequited love was unreal. My heart hurt, broke and was put back together. This isn’t your average MM/MFM story, it is so much more. I fell in love with Jackson in the first book, and more in love with him in this book. Do yourself a favor and read this incredible story. I definitely need more of this series!
Holy. Shit. This book has got to be one of the hottest reads I’ve ever had. I’ve read other MMF/MM romances, but Fiona puts all the rest in their places! *Fanning self* This has got to be one of my favorite books! The emotions are so raw all around. I do feel AWFUL for Carina. But Jackson and Jake’s chemistry is off. The. Charts! *sigh*
This was not what I was expecting, but in a good way. Jake and Jackson were best friends in college, and shared a kiss during truth or dare. He was confused with his feelings, but Jackson had fallen for him. Jake ran from his fears into the arms of his childhood best friend Carina. They both work for their parents company and wind up working with Jackson. This stirs up all kinds of emotions for Jake. They decide to include Jackson in their bed to try and get some more connection in their relationship.
I think the author did a great job with all 3 characters. It’s written in alternating POVs. We see what Jake goes through with his feelings and instead of it being a sexy ménage, it winds up being a coming of age story and not letting labels define who you chose to love.
The only thing I’m sad about is not getting Carina’s story. I can’t find it anywhere!
THE LOVERS by Fiona Cole is hawt! I mean, MMF usually is with all the possibilities and such, but this one… whew!
It’s the story of Jake and Carina, who’ve known each other for ages and always joked they’d get married one day. Now, they’re really engaged and find themselves revealing their dirtiest, filthiest fantasy to one another, which brings Jackson, Jake’s openly bisexual best friend into the picture…
I know Jackson appeared in a previous book where he was a bystander with somewhat unrequited love. Knowing only that – because I haven’t read VOYEUR yet – my heart hurt for him, because despite the burning-hot sex between the three of them, he was still the third person to their couple.
It was more painful than it should have been, and still is exactly what made this story about so much more than just a couple fulfilling their kinky fantasies. It’s full of emotion, full of intricate, complex relationships and characters while damaged – and I have a knack for this kind of heroes – still mature enough to work through it all in a realistic way.
It’s a conflicting and fractured yet utterly satisfying unconventional and unexpected love story that made my toes curs and my heart bleed. It’s about friendship and being truthful. A story about learning to love yourself and be fully loved for who you are in return.
THE LOVERS was my first read by Fiona Cole, and I’m looking forward to read more written by her, starting with VOYEUR.
I love M/M books and this was incredible. Since Voyeur I wanted to know more about Jake and Jackson so I was really happy to read about them, even though Jake was with Carina, I knew his relationship with Jackson was worth reading and I wasn’t disappointed, their chemistry was really hot and I totally loved the whole book, especially the ending.
Well….Fiona Cole sure knows how to deliver wonderfully unconventional stories that will have your heart hurting one minute and the next minute have you sitting in front of a fan so you can cool down. This book was hot, but it was also infuriating and sad. I really liked Jackson’s character in Voyeur. I loved the friendship between him and Oakley and I was very happy to get to know more of him in Lovers. I also loved Carina’s character. She is bad ass, independent woman you want at your side. As far as Jake, I have a love/hate relationship with him. At times I felt he was damn selfish and I wanted to slap some sense into him. I felt he was selfish for the majority of the story, but at the same time I completely understood his fears and internal struggle. Because Fiona Cole writes such amazing unique stories, Lovers is a different type of MMF romance. This book tugged at my heart strings and it brought up issues of biases and sexuality. We got to see how all three characters dealt with issues of insecurities and internal struggles in trying to conform to be who society expects you to be and the roles we are “expected” to conform based on your sex. From the beginning of this story, I felt as if I was riding an emotional rollercoaster with loop after loop that had me crying and screaming, all while feeling excited and hopeful. I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars.
Fiona Cole is amazing in her telling of the story of Carina, Jackson, and Jake. Such an emotional rollercoaster and kept me with a book hangover for weeks following! This is a must read and then read Another also by Fiona Cole!
Holy hotness! I was excited for Jackson’s story(he was a secondary character in Voyeur) and I definitely wasn’t disappointed!
This isn’t a typical ménage story.
It’s unique. The story is hot AND emotional.
The characters definitely go on a journey through the book.
I love the way the author balances scorching sexy times and deep emotions.
I loved the characters so much!
And it was smokin’ hot!!
I highly recommend this!
“Everything about this kiss reminded me that this wasn’t a soft female I had in my arms.”
Wow. Holy smoking hotness.
Fiona’s books keep getting better and better. I’m still making my way through this series, but these books are exactly what I need.
Fiona doesn’t hold back. She doesn’t spare a single detail and she gives it all to her readers. Those are the books I love. I want every smutty detail. Every thought. Every moment. I want it all.
Jackson, Jake, and Carina are INSANELY hot. Their chemistry could burn through my kindle if it was able to. I repeated to myself, “Holy fuck” at least 100 times throughout Lovers.
I can’t wait to read whatever book is next in the series because the way that Fiona has been lighting my world on fire with her words, I don’t see a bad end in sight.
“I’d fucked Jackson for her, but somewhere along the way, I didn’t even believe that lie anymore.”
An emotionally epic read. I was wowed by the storyline and fell in love with the characters. My heart broke, the tears flowed and somehow Ms Cole mended it and put a smile back on my face. An interesting take on what may happen if a third party is introduced into a couples lives. It’s like playing with fire and trying to not get burned.
Carina is one of the partners daughters, she is damn good at her job but daddy keeps patronising her. She will never be good enough for him just because she doesn’t have balls. Being engaged to her best friend Jake who is also the son of one of the founding partners makes them a formidable team. Jake is one of her biggest supporters and holds her with the highest esteem. When she feels something isn’t quite clicking with them she shares her fantasy.
Jake was the master of playing truth or dare at college, until the dare that had changed his life. He was happily engaged to his best friend Carina, working for the family company and focused on his fathers dying words. When a contract landed on their lap for a new bar. When they met up with the new client, Jake was astounded when a Jackson crashed into the meeting. He hadn’t seen him since college.
Jackson was finally in a good place. He had his paraplegic brother settled with the best of care and he had met and was now working for Daniel at Voyeur. He was going to be the manager of the new bar Voy, which Daniel also owned. At night he was often found performing at Voyeur. It was the night that Carina and Jake watched his performance that changed everything. Carina invited him to join them when she shared her fantasy. If he’d known the impact on his life he may of chosen a different answer.
With emotions running wild between Carina, Jake and Jackson something was going to combust. It was hot and heavy as they explored the depravity of lust. Everything comes at a cost though. Will they become three, two or go their separate ways?
Fiona Cole I finished this book a few hours ago but the steam on my glasses has only just now faded enough for me to be able to write this review. Yes, it was everything my steamy, sexy time loving, little heart could handle. I fell for Jackson the first time I read Voyeur but I have put him off because I just knew this was going to be one of those that I’ll wish I could read for the first time over and over. I wasn’t wrong.
Jackson has come a long way since Voyeur. Not dealt the best hand in life, but you would never know it. It is impossible to not love him. He is very comfortable in his sexuality and isn’t biased when it comes to gender or kink. But while Jackson has always had an open heart and a blasé approach to his love life, there was always one person that he felt more connected to than others. His roommate in college. The only problem, his roommate is straight. But when college kids do what college kids do, things get interesting… until the sun comes up and Jackson is down a best friend. Now, Jackson is going into his first business venture and what do you know… Jake and his fiancé Carina have been called in. Things get really interesting from there.
I felt all of the angst with this one. Even with all the sexy time gratification, there is still a true blue love story here. Those are my favorite. So, if you’re down with all the hot sex three people could possibly get into then you need to jump on this… then just enjoy what is to come of it. I adore Fiona Cole’s writing and cannot wait to read all of her deliciousness. BRB.. going to one click Savior.. and Another… and Liar…… *Whitney has left this review.*
4.5 stars
Ah Jackson Fields! He was my happy place throughout this entire book. I wanted to protect him from all the bad things.
Before we met him, I was feeling like this book wasn’t going to be for me. I didn’t really connect to Jake and even less to Corina’s characters, and was bored when I was reading them. But everything came together and I love the love interests at the end.
This was my first book by this author, and I can’t wait to read more. Crossing my fingers that we’ll see more of Andrew and that maybe he’ll get his own book.
Somehow this book got me hook, line and sinker
Oh where do I even start? The drama and angst in this book was off the charts. Honestly, I felt as though I was watching a collision of madness and was helplessly unable to look away.
Normally I ain’t a fan of cheating – like I will DNF a book with it, but hell… I was definitely not expecting to actively root for two people doing the cheating to be together but hey, hats off to Fiona Cole for making me fall for these characters somehow despite hating their actions! And my little reader heart was full to bursting by the end.
Man… What a ride.
OMG this book is one of my favorites by Fiona Cole. It’s so realistic and gut-wrenching, but also HOT and a story of acceptance.
Wow. Just wow. I was always nervous to read this book. I’ve never been into MM/MMF. I’ve read MMF which I’ve liked but nothing with a MM storyline intertwined. Fiona Cole – what have you done?! The writing kept me captivated even though I’ve never experienced anything like this or read anything similar to this. The characters were well known to me – I’ve read all other books in this series besides this one. It was free so I decided to try it. Even though I know how it ended since I read the other books after it, I still enjoyed it. It was hot, steamy, angsty, and full of drama.
I don’t usually read M/F/M stories but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. The sex scenes are hot but the story is also very sweet. It is true what they say, love is love.
