***Seaside Lovers
5 stars
I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Seaside Summers book 7: Seaside Lovers: by Melissa Foster and this review was given freely.
A complex steamy story of loss, family and love mixed with the loving interference and acceptance of the Seaside ladies. A year of corresponding turns to love for the third Lacroux sibling, metal artist Grayson and California actress Parker.
***Seaside Whispers
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Seaside Summers book 8: Seaside Whispers: Matt and Mira by Melissa Foster and this review was given freely.
A fitting conclusion to the Lacroux family Seaside romances containing a wonderful group of friends, some humor and a lot of steamy scenes. Dissatisfied Princeton professor Matt takes a sabbatical in Seaside to write a book, celebrate the triple wedding of his siblings, help try to save his father’s hardware store, and to have a closer relationship with both his family and the woman he fantasizes about, his father’s employee, single mother Mira.
I’m not surprised that Ms. Cole has hit it out of the park again with this book. What did surprise me was that she was able to take me out of month long book funk with this book! As always with this sweet with heat series the characters are so easy to fall in love with, and I want them in my real life. This book had a few surprises and twists that were refreshing to see thrown into the mix.
Grayson is another perfect book boyfriend that all real boyfriends should strive to be. He is caring and compassionate, but still makes mistakes.
I had a little more trouble connecting with Parker but loved her no less. Sometimes your life has to be turned upside down to find what your really looking for. I don’t think Parker even knew what to look for, but it found her anyway.
Ms. Cole sets the bar so high with her books and I always think there is no way she can bet it, but she always does. I can’t wait for the next book in this sweet with heat series!
Another great emotional story! Grayson Lacroux has been working on restoring a house for a charity. He has been corresponding with the head of the charity & A list actress, Parker Collins, by email. They have the same tastes and have developed an easy correspondence style. When he goes to work on the most recent project, the stair railings, he is surprised to discover someone in the house drunk & binging on junk food.
Bert has guided Parker along her career & has been a stabilizing influence. Parker becomes derailed at his death & has retreated to the one place no one will find her, her charity’s house. To drown her grief, she indulges in junk food, horror movies & tequila. While drunk, she thinks someone is breaking into the house but instead meets her contractor face to face for the first time.
Parker & Grayson are perfect together! Grayson gives Parker the steady influence to keep her grounded & actually helps her begin to find her way back to her original self, Polly. By forcing her out of her comfort zone, he actually makes her begin to love her self again. She was getting lost in her public persona. Parker makes Grayson laugh & develop his lighter side. The chemistry between the two of them is hot & intense!
Ms. Cole is a master at creating characters that we all fall in love with and wait anxiously for the next tidbit of news about their lives. These books have the same characters appearing in supporting roles throughout the series but can easily be read as stand alones without feeling lost. Of course, then you are hooked & you’ll go back and read them all. She creates a plot that pulls our emotions into the story & involves us to the extent that we can’t put it down until we are at the end. It is so worth the book hangover the next day… Now to start the countdown until the next one!
Lovers at Seaside is the ninth book in the Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers series. Grayson and Parker kept up communication even though they were miles apart. Suddenly Parker is no longer responding. He finds her wallowing in grief, with a plan to carry out. He decides he is not going to leave her side, and what ensues is a tale of heartache, love, devotion, and secrets revealed. This is one of those books that sucks you right in. I definitely recommend it.
In this book, we have Grayson, an ironworker from the Cape, Parker, an actress from California, and a big, loveable dog named Christmas. This is an interesting group that comes together after Grayson has won a contest featuring his work. With lots of cute, adorable babies, the funny ladies of seaside, and their hot, sexy men, you know this book is going to be sweet with heat, and it is. I loved this book from the beginning, all the way to the end. I had read the book earlier, and then listened the audiobook. Lucy Rivers and Aiden Snow, as narrators just added to the wonderful book written by Addison Cole. I enjoyed it again, through their voices.
Lovers at Seaside (Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers) by Addison Cole I am totally and utterly in love with Addison’s Sweet with Heat series, whilst I love the previous steamy versions of these stories, this series opens up those books to a whole new audience (even got my mother into them!)
Parker Collins and Grayson Lacroux have been emailing each other for the past year – professionally I might add, as Grayson & his brother Hunter won the sculpting bid for Parker’s Foundation, now she is in town mourning the death of her friend and mentor Bert. Grayson walks in on her doing a tequila binge, and realises just how much she has impacted his heart over the last year.
The chemistry and romance between them just seems so natural since they practically know each other via all the emailing they have been doing.
I loved watching their story play out and Parker relax and be welcomed into the Seaside group.
I read the book first and then I listened to the duo narration of Rivers and Snow.
River and Snow teams up with Cole wow wow
Overall 5 out of 5 stars
Performance 5 out of 5 stars
Story 4 out of 5 stars
Addision Cole’s takes us back to Seaside for the Summer with Lucy Rivers and Aiden Snow being our vocal visualization coaches. Their touches of cadence, tone, pitch, and the audio clarity and smoothness provides a sweet romance with that bite of heat, but not overwhelming explicity. Then you need to pick up the latest in the Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers. There was a depth of characters both primary and secondary with that extra layer of narration making this listen feel like a personal visit to the east coast.
Parker’s career as an actress leave little room for real down to earth people to be surrounding her. So when the one person in this world she know beyond a shadow of a doubt loves her dies. Her world becomes even smaller and the reality of things makes there presence known. Shutting out the world can only go so far.
Grayson finally has plans to meet the woman he has carried on an online relationship with for the past several month. Only to arrive at planned location and she not show up. Unbeknownst to him she has suffered a set back and her world was no longer level. Confrontation. Time. Togetherness. Passion. Sweet heat that allows things to develop on a different level of togetherness.
Parker and Grayson find that they have been apart for longer than they have had the chance to be together. The first chance to connect gets lost in translation. Parker finds herself fighting grief and losing. Grayson finds that he may have misinterpreted the new and grown relationship he thought was heading in a new direction. Once finding each other things take on a new meaning, when it comes to relationships and being close. Secrets come out and tests the bonds the two have come to form.
A perfect poolside/beach house cleaning, driving whatever listen. Come on get your copy and enjoy the togetherness of Parker and Grayson. Things are not always as they seem.
***Revised Review***
Not only did I love reading the book back in May, I just listened to the audio version of this book. I love the narration of Lucy River & Aiden Snow. I love the male/female narration Listening to audiobooks makes my drive to and from work bearable.
I always love returning to the Seaside gang. Parker is a famous actress and Grayson is an artist who have correspond and fell for each other over months of email. This book had a twist I never expected. I truly do not know how Addison does it. She writes so many book and none of them disappoint. This book is a HEA with no cliffhangers.
Parker/Polly and Grayson are SO meant for each other. You can tell from the beginning of the story that Grayson has true feelings for Parker/Polly. Their story flows effortlessly and pulls at your heart strings. I really want to be one with the Seaside group. Parker’s loss added depth to the story. A great beach read!
What do a movie star, Contractor and a grumpy old man have in common? Well, they are all apart of Addison Cole’s new book Lovers at Seaside, where the author whisks us back to Wellfleet, for a little sweet with heat story! And just in time for summer too! And the minute I received this book I couldn’t wait to get stuck in!
But not only do we meet our heroes of the book, Pete and Sky’s brother Greyson and movie star Parker’s story, but also couldn’t wait to catch up with characters from the past! To find out Bella and Theresa’s latest prank, and to see the how the rest of the gang are doing.
Now when you first meet Parker, you honestly cannot help but feel for her. Losing the one person that has been in her life since she was 16 years old completely devastated her, but having Greyson there, gives her the love she craves. Greyson character is absolutely delicious and I seriously need him in my life! Not only does he offer support, he is kind, caring, respectful and (in my mind) perfect!… I wonder if I could “weird science” him into reality…But I digress.
The writing for Lover at Seaside is as wonderful and sweet, and everything you have come to expect from this author, but the plot is SO much more than a love story, and I think, even more than this author’s other stories. But I will tell you, the twist at the end BLEW MY MIND! I honestly didn’t see it coming! But I’m so thrilled it did.
I will be honest with you all, that this has been one of the toughest reviews I have had to write in the longest time because there are so many amazing parts to this book, I am scared to death that I’m going to accidentally reveal something and spoil the story. But if I can give you one piece of advice about this book…BUY IT NOW! Because everyone in the world needs to read this amazing story!
I give Lovers at Seaside 5 stars!…plus a million more!!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Parker Collins and I have a couple of things in common and that’s just in the first paragraph. Full disclosure, that doesn’t include her choice of films. She also made me laugh – it can’t get much better, or can it? Grayson Lacroux has his hands full. But I get the impression that’s something he doesn’t mind.
Our author created a secondary character that just had something about him. In no way was my grandfather like him but as I first meet this character, I hear and visualize my grandfather every time he makes an appearance. It gave me a good chuckle and I bet my grandfather would chuckle too.
At one point in the story our couple is having a very frank discussion. It may leave you thinking about life and maybe even about friends and family – both good and bad. It may even have you thinking about service to others. Some people can’t always give money but there are plenty of other ways to serve. As I was reading I could feel the warm sand between my toes, the nice breeze coming off the water, and I could faintly hear the characters as they enjoy each other and the scenery. They’ve become a great group of friends that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know.
If you love a story where you get to see the definition of Romantic play out then make sure that you have a copy of this book. I’d say that Grayson would be the perfect book boyfriend but he’s all Parker’s and he lets you know that. What I loved was how the author took a completely romantic moment and made me laugh. And if I laughed… Then I let out a silent cheer when I see the great present the author leaves at the end.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Have you ever started a book and known from the very first pages that this couple MUST be together? That is what I felt when Grayson walks in on Parker in a candy eating, watching a scary movie, and getting drunk. There is no judgment, no harsh words, just concern, understanding, and acceptance. He is the forever gentleman taking care of this woman that he only knows through emails in a time when she is so alone. SIGH… what an amazing man.
I loved the Bert and Abe storyline. Bert, the man Parker thought of as a father, knew exactly what he was doing by leading Parker to Abe. While Abe is a mean, crabby, old man he opens his heart to Parker and Grayson. Abe’s death leads to a happily ever after for Parker which is exactly what she deserved. I love that Grayson was with her every step of the way.
Addison Cole is talented in her writing. She has a knack for her wonderful seaside settings, amazing characters, and sweet storylines. The settings are described in such detail that they are easy to picture, making the reader feel as if they are there with the characters. The characters are fun, sweet, and real. They end up being friends of the reader while taking the reader on their amazing life journeys. And the storylines…oh so sweet. The attention to the little details pull the reader right into the book and never let them go. Even when the last word is read I continue to think about their story and wonder what will happen next in this series.
I am a HUGE fan of the Sweet with Heat series and am always excited when another book is being released. With each book I get to know new characters, catch up with some old favorites, and revisit some of my favorite book places.
Lovers at Seaside focusses on loss and new beginnings. I feel that these deeply emotional and personal subjects set this novel apart from the other books in this series. The exceptional characters and their journey captivated me from the first page of the novel!!
Actress Parker Collins is grief stricken. Her friend Bert passed while she was away filming in Italy. She’s devastated because she has lost her best friend, mentor and the only family she’d known. Parker grabs her dog and retreats to her home in Wellfleet, Mass. I could relate to Parker’s sense of loss and her need to meet Bert’s brother and mend fences.
At first I wasn’t sure if Grayson was the man that Parker needed. They seemed almost too opposite. Grayson works for Parker’s foundation and they emailed each other regularly. Grayson is taken back when he realizes Parker has not shared a lot of personal details with him. Grayson feels very protective of Parker and he senses that she needs to grieve for her friend and needs a safe place to heal. His unwavering emotional support and caring attitude towards Parker won me over.
Melissa Foster blends Parker’s relationship with Bert’s brother Abe into the story effortlessly. The brother’s relationship plays an important role in story’s resolution. Loved that Parker was welcomed into the Seaside community. Grayson understood that Parker needed a sense of normalcy, family and friends and he truly understood her needs during her journey from grief to acceptance.
The ending of Lovers at Seaside surprised me! Grayson makes a bad choice which tests the trust in his relationship with Parker. His actions devastate her and she leaves the Cape and returns to California. I loved that Melissa Foster wrote such an honest ending—forgiveness and trust are two issues that everyone struggles with on a daily basis.
Lovers at Seaside is a heartfelt journey – with all the feels, great characters, dialogue. You will cry, laugh and enjoy this emotional friends to lovers romance!
There are many aspects of life we take for granted. Among the most valued is life itself and the time we seem to forget is rapidly slipping away. Lovers at Seaside is an amazing tale of life, love and loss. It’s also a life lesson: “Make every moment and person in your life count.” Addison Cole wraps readers up in a tale of new beginnings and heartbreaking loss. For Grayson and Parker loss takes their friendship in a new direction. As Parker opens her eyes to what could be with Grayson, love’s true meaning becomes crystal clear to her heart. It’s about learning to forgive, opening your heart and taking a leap of faith. It’s also about doing one last favor for a friend. There are moments where the emotion seems larger then the characters, but that’s to be expected when looking at greatness. The hardest goodbyes, often bring the sweetest hellos.
What a great book. It was so much fun. I love Parker’s dog, Christmas. How can anyone not love a dog in a story though. The chemistry between Parker and Grayson was sizzling. Hot hot hot. Oh, and the kiss! Spectacular! I loved this book all the way through.
I absolutely loved this book!!
I have really enjoyed all the books in the Sweet With Heat: Seaside Summers series. But, Lovers At Seaside, is a special book. It has everything. It’s romantic, steamy, emotional, touching, & has a little intrigue. After Grayson & Hunter had been awarded the metal works contract. Grayson Lacroux, agreed to travel to all the Children’s Foundation homes, where the metal work is to be done. He has been communicating with Parker Collins, actress & founder, regarding the designs. They finally make plans to meet. Grayson & Parker, curious if the feelings they’ve developed are real, not knowing what the other feels.
After an unforseen tragedy, Parker
travels to her home in Wellfleet, along with Christmas, her English mastiff,
to be alone. She had forgotten about
her plans to meet with Grayson. He was concerned, when he had not heard from Parker. In the middle a candy, & tequila haze, in walks her white knight.
This story really pulled all my heartstrings. This is truly a beautiful story and makes you believe there really is true love out there.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EVERYONE!!!
