This is the retelling of Treat Braden and Max Armstrong. This was such a beautiful story. Treat and Max both have things from their pasts that have shaped who they’ve become as adults. While Treat comes from a very large family, Max is an only child. While they’ve got a lot of differences their chemistry is off the charts!
Throughout this story, you get to know all of Treat’s family and you realize just how close they are. The Bradens have been through some terrible times, but it’s only strengthened the bond they have as a family. You can’t help but fall in love with them. It really made me appreciate how important family is.
Max suffered through something while she was in college that has affected every relationship she’s had since. And there haven’t been many. But she meets Treat and their connection is just too strong to ignore. While her feelings for Treat are incredibly intense, she’s still got hang ups from college that she needs to work through. Luckily for her, Treat realizes that Max needs time and he cares enough to hang in there and prove that their love is worth the wait.
I would highly recommend this book to everyone. Getting to meet the Braden family, and feeling what real love is all about makes this book a must read. Melissa has a way with words that makes you feel every sentence. You can’t help but feel like you know the characters by the end and wish you were a part of this amazing family.
This is my first book about the Bradens and I am HOOKED!!! I enjoyed falling in love with Max and Treat! I enjoyed that it didn’t give too much to their initial meeting, but what happens when fate brings back two people who missed the signs from the universe the first time they were brought together! Meeting all the other Braden’s were just another layer to this rich storyline! I have already downloaded Rex’s story! Don’t miss out on this family and series!
I was so happy to see Treat and Max get a reboot. Although I loved the first story of Treat and Max, I think the retaling of one of my favorite couples, was perfection. Just a little more heat and I think the storyline flowed a little easier this second time around.
Whether you are reading Treat and Max for the first time or tenth time, they are absolutely one of my favorites in the series.
Treat Braden is a successful hotel and resort entrepreneur who is so busy he doesn’t really have time for love. So why was it that all he could think about for the past six months was Max Armstrong, a woman who organized a wedding at his Nassua resort.
He needs to get away. The stress of his job and thinking about the girl who got away are just too much. So what better way than to spend time with his family on their ranch in Colorado. What he never expected was to run into Max.
Sparks fly between the two but Max is running from her own set of problems. The only thing is that Treat wasn’t going to let another opportunity pass him by. Both have been hurt in the past but can they let down their guards long enough to see what’s right in front of them?
Like I said these two are scorching hot together and if you haven’t read any of Melissa’s books, this is a great place to start!.
I have a confession to make, I have not read Treat and Max’s original story, so how this is re-imagined I am not sure, but one thing I am sure off is that this is a truly heartwarming story of second chances by the very talented Melissa Foster.
Her Love in Bloom universe is immense and each book is different but all have characters that are real, relatable and easy to fall for.
Lovers at Heat is an emotional ride for Treat Braden and Max Armstrong. They shared a magical evening together and the day after based on a misunderstanding Max ran from Treat and he has been longing for her every since. Six months later Treat heads back home to his father ranch and family and a chance meeting sees him bump into Max! The desire he felt for all this time bubbles to the surface and he is determined not to let her run away again.
Max has been betrayed in the past and never in a million years did she expect to fall hard for Treat – a man who could have any woman on earth by the way, but he chose her. But her past insecurity and betrayal caused her to run, and Treat had no idea just what he had done.
Once they finally get together again, and Max explains her past, Treat tells her about his own betrayal and proves that he is nothing like her ex.
This is one emotional story for Max, and I absolutely loved every moment of it from the first to last page, I loved how they were together and how above all love prevails no matter what happens.
Lovers at Heart, Reimagined, is exactly that, a reimagined version of the first book! And it’s a hot and spicy “treat” and a great introduction to the Braden family, so if you have read Lover’s at Heart, you are not suffering from slight déjà vu! The author felt that the story was not complete and so we are the lucky people that get to experience the story all over again.
Treat (yes that’s the name, I did double check) Braden is back from yet another high profile meeting, making him more successful, but a job that keeps him away from his family, but now he is back home, suffering from burn out, and a case of obsession (not creepy) over a women he can’t get out of his head! But someone he made a mistake with and acted like a jerk! But as soon as he sees her again, he knows he needs to make it right.
Max Armstrong is a strong woman! Except when it comes to Treat Braden, then she turns in to a pile of goo! But when he accused her of something she didn’t do, he hurt her more than she would have believed! And even though they work it out, there is something Max needs to find closure on, and the first step of that is to tell Treat everything!
This is an amazing book from Melissa Foster and gives a refresh on an amazing series! Plus it makes you want to have “Treat” in your life too!
I give Lovers at Heart, Reimagined 5 stars!
I was skeptical about reading this book because the original was such a huge part of my falling in love with the entire series (I loved every book from the Snow Sisters on) but Lover’s At Heart, Reimagined) made me fall in love all over again. I am a big lover of Treat and Max but in this version, it brings them together more and faster as well as takes you on a journey with them that takes along your heart! Love, love, love this book and look forward to the new things that come from it!!! Five stars!!!
Fans of this series, you are seriously in for a good treat. Lovers At Heart has been re-imagined and given a fresh new look. This book can be read as a stand-alone and can be enjoyed by new and old readers alike. Melissa Foster has breathed new life into a familiar story while still delivering the swoon that we’ve all come to know and enjoy…
Told from dual points of view, Lovers At Heart follows the story of Max and Treat. From the moment I met these two, I was dying to know what could possibly gone wrong. The sparks and chemistry will still there, like it was their first meeting. But, just like with any new relationships, the foundation hasn’t been built yet, so misunderstandings or a wrong impression have the power to make a mess of things. But, I had a feeling about Max and Treat. They were so good together that I just knew their story couldn’t be over. It was a joy watching these two trying to figure things out and it was a lot of fun seeing how this series began.
Lovers At Heart was a terrific read from beginning to end. I loved spending the day getting lost in Max and Treat. Their story made me swoon, fall in love and believe in second chances.
Treat Braden is my all time favorite Braden. With the original Lovers at Heart, he won me over with his persistence, his strength, and his love of family. With the Reimagined version of Lovers at Heart, he just won me over again. I love that Melissa Foster took an original story and re-wrote it to make it into a story that fits the characters better. In rewriting the story, Melissa Foster did not take anything away from Treat and Max’s story but instead took characters and built on their story making it just as wonderful as the original.
The rest of the Braden family are all found within Treat’s story and of course, my second favorite Braden, Hal the father, makes a huge appearance. The wisdom, the strength, and the love of this family is so strong, so real, and so beautiful. I can hear Hal’s strong and firm voice that is so full of love and respect for those that he is talking to. His words lay the groundwork for all the other Braden family members.
Melissa Foster re-wrote a book that was already a fan favorite. Anyone who read the first writing of the story will find the second writing just as wonderful.
I absolutely loved the first book, so I was not sure what Melissa Foster was going to do to reimagine it. Well, after reading it, I can say she made a wonderful book, even better. It was great seeing both Treat and Max taking care of things from their past, because it is correct that many times things in our past influence our present. It is a true love story, and as it is with life, it rarely flows smoothly without hitting some rocks along the way, but I love a happy ending. I also love the strength of the Braden family, and Max fits right in. I highly recommend this book.
Lovers at Heart was one of the first books I read by Melissa Foster. At the time, I would have told you there was no way this book could get any better – was I ever wrong. Melissa Foster always impresses me with each new book she writes. Lovers at Heart Reimagined is the story that Max and Treat deserved. I love how this reimagined version of Max and Treat’s love story is filled with just more – more feels, more love, more heat. I can only hope that all of my favorite Braden family members get a reimagined version of their happily ever after.
Treat and Max Forever!
I enjoyed this story, although I found it dragged on a bit after the main characters quickly resolved their initial misunderstanding. I felt for Max and what she went through when she was younger, but it was remarkable how sweet, kind and patient Treat was with her. I found the interactions with the rest of Treat’s family so fun! They were an initial glimpse into a family of siblings ready to find their persons. I can’t wait for the next in this series!
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was my first foray into the Bradens and I was not let down. A lot of family dynamics. A lot of self inspection. A lot of finally talking things out. A lot of miscommunication.
Max has internalized a lot of things in her life. That’s how she’s become the person she is and how she is so good at her job. Treat wants to be the man she needs, but he needs to come to terms with his own demons.
Treat was only 11 years old when his mother died. His father fell to pieces and Treat had to become parent to his brothers and sisters. For the next seven years he made sure they were taken care of. Then he escaped. That’s when family dynamics changed. It took him coming to terms with walking out on his family and why and admitting it to his family before the family dynamics started to fall back into place.
Meanwhile Max is dealing with her fears of Treat resenting her if she asks him to change his life. Her fears are based on assumptions made back in college during an emotional time. It took her confronting her demons from that time to realize what she thought wasn’t reality.
The shopping spree with Kaylie sounded like so much fun. I’m looking forward to more of Hope and her conversations with Hal.
If any Fosterette asks me which story I like the best, there is only one answer possible. Because I don’t simply like Lovers at Heart, I love it. Really truly love it! I adore Treat and Max. So you can maybe understand my excitement when I heard of Lovers at Heart Reimagined! And it was even better to read. It was all that I hoped for. And this is the story that had to be told. I’m so glad that I was able to have this chance. Thank you Melissa.
Treat is the most amazing man you can imagine, he is so honest and true. I love how direct he is and loving at the same time. Max is such a strong woman, standing on her car, eating chocolate cake or while facing her own demons. Together they sparkle and gives you hope of the happy ending, of endless love and fate all together. Lovers at Heart Reimagined warmed my heart completely.
Rating 4,5 stars:
Lovers at Heart Reimagined by Melissa Foster is the best way to start your wonderful journey with the Braden family. The family that will flow your life with hope and love. Treat and Max are still my favorite couple and I’m thrilled that their story is reimagined!
Lovers at Heart, Reimagined was like reading Trent and Max’s story for the first time all over again. I couldn’t wait to be reintroduced to my favorite family. Lovers at Heart was my first book by Melissa and this just reminded me why I love reading Melissa Foster’s books – family, love, and the steaminess in the bedroom.
“Family Knows No Boundaries”
Melissa as always your writing fills me with love and joy every time and thank you for making me fall in love with Trent and Max and the whole Braden family again. Now, I have to binge read the rest of the Bradens.
I haven’t read the original Lovers at Heart so I honestly cannot tell you how or what is different in this edition. I know the author explains her reimagined theme to be a more mature spin of the original. Without reading the original, I couldn’t tell you what that means but I can tell you I enjoyed reading Trent and Max’s journey a lot. It was easy to read and it made me feel good.
Max and Trent both have their own personal demons that they need to slay (for lack of a better term) in order for them to actually work out. It happens in the story and they do it together. THAT’S what I loved the most. I was reading adulting done well LOL I don’t know any other way of putting it. It didn’t feel fictional to me, it felt real. Their journey was both sexy and sweet and maybe sometimes a little frustrating, but they communicated like champs. You don’t see that a lot in fiction. Lack of communication is a preferred conflict in romacelandia. I enjoyed that wasn’t the major case in this story. Yes, it happened, but it wasn’t the main focus. I could go on but …. Just read the book. I promise you will enjoy it. You’ll actually enjoy any Melissa Foster book out there. I know I have. Yes, on different levels, but enjoyed just the same.
4.5 Stars
Max and Treat’s story is the beginning of it all for me. I remember I was browsing through my favorite book vendor as I wanted to read books in English. I found out this Lovers at Heart and fell in love with Melissa Foster’s Love in Bloom world. I have read all the Braden’s story and always wondered about Max and Treat.
I confess that when Melissa Foster informed in her Facebook page that she was re-imagining their story and giving them a second look, I was kind of afraid. But, all my fears were in vain… This is their love story and it is really a second look, a new way of reading with more insightful details about how they are feeling and why they take some actions.
The romance is the same but with great new views and angles that makes you enjoy them more and more.
Melissa Foster is a great author and I admire her for putting the author’s ego aside and re-imagining this great love story and turning it into a better and wonderful first tale of the Braden’s.
Loved this book. It is Book 1 of the Bradens but does include some characters from the previous Love In Bloom: Snow Sisters series. The back story gives additional depth to the characters but is not needed to fully enjoy this book. Melissa continues to develop complex characters with all of the drama of real life people. Other than Treat’s money, they could be the couple down the block trying to get past misunderstandings & previous hurts to find a way to be together. The scenes descriptions are wonderful. The changing point of views threw me for a little but as I got into the story, it was easy to navigate.
This is a story about relationships and overcoming obstacles in order to be successful. The interactions between the characters draw you in and make you want to learn more about them. Melissa’s writing brings in past characters and creates a strong sense of family. Treat’s mother passing away when he was young affected him in new and different ways than the rest of the family. How he comes to terms with this loss & the way it molded him is a compelling part of the story. Max has her own issues that she has to deal with before they can have a successful relationship. This is a book that once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I loved it the first time & even more so now.
OMG i have never been more excited over a book before.
i could not wait to see how Melissa would write this book. I was a huge fan of the original love story. However, I can’t explain my joy reading Reimagined. I felt like a kid in Christmas morning. I didnt think Melissa could improve on Treat & Max. Well OMG was I ever wrong. What an incredible love story. Let’s talk about swooning. When Treat asked Max to marry him. That was the most romantic proposal i have ever read.
Reimagined is s stands alone with a HEA. I highly recommend you read the original Lovers At Heart.
*I reviewed this book voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind for this review.
I read the original Lovers at Heart and fell madly in love with Treat & Max and the entire Braden family. I knew I needed to read this reimagined version of the book to find out what more they needed to tell us. I am so happy I did! This story grabbed hold of my heart from the first page and did crazy, warm, sweet things to it page by page until the very end. I love Treat and Max even more now that I know so much more about what makes them who they are. Such a beautiful love story about a couple who were clearly fated for each other. They were and still are one of my all time favorite Melissa Foster couple!!!
Lovers at Heart by Melissa Foster is Treat and Max’s story, reimagined and I absolutely loved it. For me this is the first time I have read Treat and Max’s story and could not get enough of this fantastic couple there is such great chemistry that just draws you in. There so much emotions between these two there is a bit of fear, a whole lot of passion and really wonderful romance. This is a story where two people share one incredible evening together and have such a connection, due to a misunderstanding things change for these two and it’s not till they meet again that the real story starts. I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. Hope you will enjoy as much as I did. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
