How often do you get the chance to visit with old friends? Lovers at Heart, Reimagined felt like going home again. Max and Treat have always held a special place within my heart. After all they are the reason my love affair with Melissa Foster got it’s start. At first meeting two out of sync personalities make a deep connection. The match is less than ideal, but hopelessly overpowering. When facing forever, will they allow themselves to be vulnerable? Or will fear get in the way of what their hearts want? It’s fitting that Max and Treat were the beginning, because like a rose at first bloom, my love for this series continues to grow.
Lovers at Heart Reimagined is Treat Braden and Max Armstrong’s story. The sizzling chemistry between Treat and Max drew me into the story. The emotion, passion and pure romance of their romance kept me turning the pages.
I liked that Treat and Max got to know each other as they planned a double wedding in Nassau. The couple talked for several months over the phone as they planned a wedding and the chemistry between them sizzled. Loved that they both had romantic fantasies about each other. They meet in Nassau and share a romantic evening. Treat sees Max the next morning wearing the same outfit as the night before, misreads the situation and heads home to Colorado to spend time with his family.
Loved the scene when Treat sees Max at a party in Colorado—I could feel the attraction between the couple—it sizzled! Both Treat and Max have trust issues. While the couple dances, Treat apologizes and explains why he left her in Nassau. Max shares a bad experience that she had with her college boyfriend.
Treat Braden is one of my favorite Melissa Foster heroes. He realizes that he has misjudged Max and owns his mistake. This was his second chance and he was not going to let it slip by. Treat has family issues to resolve and the author does a fabulous job introducing the Braden clan. He’s got trust issues and a family rivalry to work through; these issues show he’s not perfect. Loved the dialogue between the Braden brothers and the bigger than life character of Hal Braden.
Max Armstrong is a successful event planner who thrives on multi-tasking. I loved that she wanted to put her past behind her by confronting her college boyfriend. Max’s feelings for Treat overwhelmed her at times. But, she knew that she needed to put the past in its place. These scenes were very painful and emotional—and perfectly written.
The romance between the couple unfolds with each chapter. They share romantic dinners, bond over chocolate cake and visit Cape Cod. Treat listens to Max-he hears her—and they begin a relationship built on trust—this part of the storyline worked for me. I liked that the couple worked together—their communication wasn’t always perfect—but they learned to believe in each other and their love. The last few chapters of the book were very intense; with brotherly rivalry, business decisions and family and romantic pressures all coming into play. The ending was fabulous and full of Hope!
Lovers At Heart Reimagined has it all- characters who will steal your heart, beautiful settings, an emotional story filled with joy, passion, forgiveness, love and a bit of magic. I loved every word—and hope you will too!
Lovers At Heart by Melissa Foster is her 4th Love In Bloom book with an update to Treat and Max’s story. I read the ebook not long after being released and now I was able to listen to the audio version of their love story. Loved it then and love the audio more thanks to the amazing talented voices of Sebastian York and Andi Arndt. I practically melt when I hear Sebastian York’s smooth as silk, alpha-laced voice, YUM! Andi Arndt does a fantastic job as well drawing the listener into the amazing world of the Braden’s in Weston, Colorado. The emotion, chemistry, passion, love for family is so well written by Melissa Foster. The narrators just make the story come alive. Loved it!! I received an ARC/ALC in exchange for an honest review. *****
This was a very good book. I want to get the rest of the series and read them. I would definitely recommend this book!
Anything Melissa Forster, I’m in!
Lovers at Heart, Reimagined
Love in Bloom: The Bradens, Book 1
By: Melissa Foster
Narrated by: Andi Arndt, Sebastian York
After meeting Treat at the Snow Sister weddings, I couldn’t wait to hear his story. And who better to be with than Max! This prince charmingesque story just makes me fall for another Braden! Treat met Max and could not get her out of his head. His time of hookups is over, and he wants to settle down. Max is hesitant. Very hesitant. Yes, she is charmed by Treat, but she holds a deep seeded pain that has never been dealt with. Now on the verge of falling in love, will she deal with her past? Will Treat still want her? Melissa Foster once again delivers a romance that you can’t help but love. It’s sweet and the Treat is every woman’s dream. She also weaves in relevancy, which is what I love about her writing. Max’s history could happen to any woman, and dealing with her past is key. Plus the information she finds out from her ex-boyfriend leads us to another real life issue, again dealt with love and compassion. Her characters have real depth and the family just take us in as one of their own. Loved this one!
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York bring this “treat” to life. I love them together! These seasoned narrators play off each other so well, and understand their characters delivering a performance we can’t help but enjoy.

I had a good time with this audiobook. I have read a handful of books written by Melissa Foster and have found that I really do like her writing style. I was really excited about this book because I was eager to hear Max’s story, who has played a role in earlier books in the Love in Bloom series. This book can definitely be read as a stand-alone but is a part of the Love in Bloom series and also kicks off The Braden’s series. This was a really nice listen.
Treat and Max first crossed paths in a previous book. They had a lot of sparks then but it didn’t go further due to a misunderstanding. When they see each other again at the start of this book, I was ready to see some sparks fly. Things heat up pretty quickly and they fall for each other pretty hard and fast. I did really like both Treat and Max. Max had some issues from her past to deal with and I was pleasantly surprised at how everything worked out as she found the resolution that she needed.
I love the narrating pair of Sebastian York and Andi Arndt. I think that their voices really complement each other in this kind of story. Both narrators did a great job of bringing Treat and Max to life. I thought that they both added a lot of emotion into their reading. I listened to the book for hours at a time and feel like the narration added to my overall enjoyment.
I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. I found this to be a wonderful feel-good romance between a pair of wonderful characters. I am looking forward to getting to know Treat’s siblings a little better as I continue with the series.
I received a copy of this audiobook from the author/publicist.
Love Treat and Max!! Audiobook review
Every woman needs a Treat! He cherises Max like no one has before and I loved watching their relationship flourish! It was nice seeing a different side of Max than we are used to and seeing her enjoy being taken care of. It was great getting to know the Braden family. I was sad when the book ended – I wish it was a bit longer! I loved the narrators – they are 2 of my favorites and did a fantastic job! Would definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to start the next one.
I fell in love with the original ‘Lovers at Heart’ where we met the ever so charming, good looking and debonair, Treat Braden and fell in love with both he and Max Armstrong. I really enjoyed listening to this updated and reimagined version by Melissa Foster. I enjoyed the backstory on their time in Nassau and I really liked how they talked about their problems and what was going on and worked through everything. I also liked meeting some new friends along the way and we also heard from some of our friends from other books. Another great story from Melissa Foster. I listened to this great story as an audiobook narrated by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. I have heard great things about this narrating duo, and they did not disappoint. They both did a great job in their narration and in my personal opinion, Sebastian York has this quality to his voice that I could listen to all day, I also thought he did a great job of narrating Hal Braden. I will definitely listen to more audiobooks by this duo.
Audiobook: Narrators – Andi Arndt and Sebastian York
What an absolutely incredible job this pair of narrators did performing this story! From the very beginning I was pulled in and totally captivated by both of their voices. It got to where I was so lost in the story that I failed to really noticed when the narrators changed which is not necessarily a voice things as it is a “Gah, I’m looving this!” thing.
I enjoyed the original trilogy of Love in Bloom but holy heck, I’m infatuated with The Bradens!!! Max and Treat were perfect together! While Max was struggling with issues from her past, Treat was the most PERFECT hero ever in the way he was so very careful with her. He made sure that he communicated openly regarding certain topics (don’t want to spoil it) and that helped Max to move forward. I couldn’t love Treat more than I do after his treatment of Max.
This has more emotional drama than anything else, but it never dragged the story down and it wasn’t necessarily a tissue fest. Filled with heart, a bit of wit, and some wonderful secondary characters, this was my favorite of the Love in Bloom series even as the first in The Bradens. Can’t wait to listen to future books!
Wonderful
This is a true love story with a few ups and downs along the way. Treat & Max met when she was setting up a wedding for her boss at his resort. But a misunderstanding after a wonderful night kept them apart. But now he is home in Weston and it looks like things can be fixed.
I hadn’t read any of this author’s books before now. I’d gotten a few of them on recommendation from someone. I liked the story and the premise for the relationship. Treat and Max’s story was obviously a continuation from a previous story. Apparently, they hadn’t meant to run into each other again and happened to be at the same event at the same time, which brought up feeling from the previous time they’d spent together. As much as they wanted to fight their attraction, there was no way they could. Still, they each had ghosts of their pasts to face before they could move forward, and facing those ghosts would be necessary for them to make anything work between them.
There were two problems I had while reading this story, but I couldn’t give the story, itself, anything lower than 3 stars because it was a genuinely beautiful love story.
Number one: to be honest, there were some pages in the middle of the book (a few times) I skipped over. I understood the conflict, especially that belonging to Max, but it seemed a bit repetitive to me. It was difficult for Max to face, and that was understandable. But, I thought so much of it was just wordy, explaining the same thing using different words for several paragraphs. And there were several times the author did this.
Number two: I loved that Treat was in touch with his feelings. I just felt that sometimes the author wrote a man from a woman’s point of view. Having a dual POV is great when there’s a lot to pack into a story with limited time and without the word-count getting to high. But I think there are times when a woman writing a man needs to get a man’s perspective of the man’s POV – would a man think like this, say these things, open up so easily, that kind of thing. I’m not saying there aren’t men like that. I just felt there were times I could tell a woman was writing the story.
That beings said, I liked the story. I recommend it for an easy read for an afternoon. And my favorite chapters, aside from the bonfire scene which was terrific, were from Chapter 27 through to the end. It felt like the author suddenly caught a second wind. The family scene with the father was especially well written. There were moments that touched my heart, made me giggle, had my emotions kicking in. Those were her best work in the book, and had the entire story been written as well, I think I would have given it more stars. Still, I’m looking forward to Rex’s story because he seems to be the epitome of the rough, handsome, hard-working cowboy I always picture. This should be fun.
Treat & Max are back
Overall 5 out of 5 stars
Performance 5 out of 5 stars
Story 5 out of 5 stars
The first of the Bradens of Weston to be coupled up finds that his story has a different spin put on it. You, the reader, get to have a look at more of Treat and Max. I liked it very much. Melissa Foster made her 7-layered iced cake into a show piece.
Treat and Max were a puzzle that needed to be put together. They both intrigued you from the start of there meeting for the first time in Nassau for the Snow sisters wedding. Their encounters were one sided for us and the looks were just leading one to want more. Now, we get that chance to see just a bit more of what we were wanting to see from them the first time we met them.
If you have not read the first book of the Love in Bloom series, this will be the one you want to go with. You will fall in love with Treat and Max and all the others from the Bradens’ family, their friends, and some coworkers.
Having the dual narration from Andi and Sebastian will be just the spark needed to make you feel as if you are right her with the new couple as they go from one hiding or running, to battling being together, to the misunderstanding that breaks them apart, to them reconnecting.
This is the first book in The Bradens Series. This Series is also part of the Love in Bloom Series (book 4). For a better enjoyment, I suggest you to read the three books in the Snow Sisters Series before. Treat and Max’s story has a slow development, filled with misunderstandings, insecurities and doubts. After a few bumps in the road, they got their happy ending. I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, Destined for Love, Jade and Rex’s story. B.J. Harrison has done an amazing job with all the characters and voices. I enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review
This reimagined view of Treat and Max’s romance was a a new read for me. Every book by Ms. Foster has a way of pulling me and making me fall in love with her world, this book was no exception. Ms. Foster has a way of making her men strong but sensitive and her women independent, sometimes to a fault. Treat was that strong but very in tune with his feelings man that always has me rooting for him. Max, well she made me want to yell and scream at her a lot, but I couldn’t stop rooting for her either. I really couldn’t believe that I hadn’t already read this book and now I have to go look and see how many others I have missed!
This well-written story really caught and held my attention. Max and Treat have a chance encounter, which brings their past back to the present. They had an intense connection, but something had caused Max to turn away, leaving Treat unable to stop thinking about her. When they run into each other again they start to rebuild. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.
Max and Treat’s story was the first book of Melissa Foster’s that I read and began my love for the Braden family and their stories. It’s a beautiful and emotional second chance love story, about the importance of communication and trust in any relationship.
Max and Treat are quite different, but are inexplicably drawn to each other. Their connection is undeniable, but they both haunted with demons of their past, and struggle with trust issues.
Max is independent, cautious, head strong, intelligent and hardworking, whilst Treat is gorgeous sexy, intelligent, rich and a very successful and hardworking entrepreneur.
I love the loyalty and strong family ties and values the Braden family share, and was so glad to go back and discover my love for this fictional family.
When I started this one I did not imagine I would fall in love with falling in love. Treat and Max take your along with their story swallowing you whole. Since I had not read the first one this one was a treat anyways. You are drawn into their story bit by bit with the wonderful way this author weaves it. It has the aspects of life in this like moments of humor just to name one. Enjoy it from beginning to end escaping into a love.

I love Treat and Max. Meeting someone who makes your whole life light up is an amazing part of life, and that is what happened with Treat and Max. Add in the amazing connection/heat between them is HOT. There is so much more to Treat and Max … you just need to pick this baby up to find out how much more.
