The highly anticipated sequel to Penelope Sky’s critically acclaimed series. I lost the only thing that matters to me. My wife. And I’m the only one to blame. I will sacrifice my life, my pride, and everything else for the woman I love. Whether she loves me or not.
Entertaining. Very invested in the characters. Immediately jumped on the next book in the series.
Omg!!! Fantastic series!!
Lover continues where Husband ends.
Sophia is kidnapped. Hades feels beyond crazy with this loss but knows he has to keep it together in order to get her back alive. His anger and hatred for his best friend, Damien can only get worse.
When Sophia returns and Hades is on the mend, they both show that they love each other in the ways they care for each other, however, in their minds the question still arises. It is always easy to show but harder to say.
What will it take for them both to let each other know that they indeed love each other? Can they talk about all the things left unsaid?
A good read to start the year, although more could have been done with the story in many ways.
Ok I’m conflicted with this book.
My heart hurt for what happened to Sofia and Hades.
But for someone who’s said to be powerful and rich in the crime world, a simple tracker could prevent Sofia being kidnapped.
Lots of point for Hades willing to sacrifice his life to trade for Sofia safety. I admire his passion and love for Sofia
But, once again for someone who’s said to be that powerful and rich, this incident doesn’t need to happen and the way Hades react and handle thing in this book feels too emotional and in the end, reckless.
And Sofia, maybe I’m being to judgie here, but when she give no fight to what Maddox have done to her? I can’t help putting my self in every heroin I read. And putting my self in Sofia’s, I would fight. I would be black and blue to protect my dignity. I understand Sofia’s reason to keep alive so she can come back to Hades. But to not fight and kinda like excepting Maddox despicable touch??!! Nope just nope
The way things happen to Hades and Sofia after, it’s heartbroken. The way Penelope write it, it’s perfect angst. I love every second of their internal fight and how they finally come true. Hades patient. Sofia finally realising her love. I cried a lot for these two.
But once again, Hades feels too emotional in this book. He’s not that fierce man that his men fear and loyal to. Maddox has that.
The way Penelope makes me sit on the edge and grit my teeeth for how Maddox once again play the game, two tumbs up for Penelope.
I love Penelope books, but for me Maddox shouldn’t have been able to take Sofia or atleast doesn’t get to keep her that long. And definitly not still breathing and play the game to the next book.
Sophia is tricked by Maddox and ends up his slave. This almost destroys Hades, and it’s up to Damien to get Sophia away, while leaving Hades in Maddox’s hands. For what ever reason Maddox is focused on Hades. Hades will sacrifice his life for Sophia, which she finds, unbearable. Lots of action and retribution and heartache through book 3. But there is an admission that Hades never thought he wold hear. Loving this!
Holy Emotions! If you have never read a series by Penelope Sky, you are seriously missing out. Lover had my emotions in a roller coaster from the first page to the end. This story will have you laughing, crying, gasping, and bugging your eyes out with each new unpredictable twist. You might as well cancel any plans you have as this book will have your undivided attention until you come to the end wondering how on earth this story between Sofia and Hades will conclude.
OMG!!!! No one can spin a tale that takes you from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other like Penelope Sky, from light hearted fun and flirty to the emotional dark depths of wanting to die or kill.
Hades and Sofia’s story is one that just grabs you from the very beginning and you can’t seem to put it down til you find out what’s next. What else can this couple go through? What else can happen to them? But never fail this author just keeps giving you more and more and pulling you into their story til you feel such an emotional connection to this couple you want to crawl into the pages and help them out.
By the time i finished the last page of this book I was a total wreck. My mind is spinning on what’s to come of this beautiful couple and their unborn son. I’ll be trying to patiently wait for the next installment to get my fix from such a fabulous and engrossing story.
This story picks up right where the last one left off and it will keep you wanting more. Action, adventure, steamy, all good from beginning to end.
I have been eagerly waiting for this book to come out. It was worth the wait! This book blew me away. Hades and Sofia have stolen my heart. Their story continues to blow me away. In this book the story hits you on so many levels. It is a rollercoaster of emotions. I was on the edge of my seat. I had to know what was going to happen next but at the same time I was holding my breath because Ms. Sky is a master at wicked twists in the story with the characters. What will it be? Is love enough when tradegy/ strife/betrayal occurs? Can it overcome anything? Check out the book and see for yourself. It is worth it! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author. I can not wait to get the next book and see where the story takes me!
Penelope I love your books. This one was a tearful one for me. Poor Sofia and Hades seem like they can’t be happy now that they finally say they love one another. Hades brother Ash has forgiven him and are in talking terms. Poor Damien, Hades isn’t forgiving him for what happened to Sofia. They can’t never get rid of Maddox especially now that Hades and Sofia are expecting their first baby (Andrew). Just when you think they’re finally go to be together. Can’t wait for the next book.
