**********
Loved You Once is the first book in a brand new series, The Baker’s Creek Billionaires, featuring the 6 Aldridge Brothers. Though their father ensured they would all have more than enough money throughout their lifetime (and the next), he never gave them what they truly needed. A father. Love. Stability. Each of the brothers is harboring some serious commitment issues, including with one another.
Loved You Once is the story of Hayes and Blaire – college sweethearts who painfully parted ways before she married his younger brother. It’s been 10 years since these two have seen one another. And though time has changed many things, their feelings aren’t one of them.
Blaire is a fascinating character. She is so giving of herself, and it is fun seeing her interactions with the Aldridge men. She can certainly hold her own against these broken, cranky, Alpha males.
For Hayes, Blaire is the one that got away. She is his other half and, without her, he has been living a half life. I love that he was willing to admit to his past mistakes and really take a chance on fixing his relationships. He is genuine in his feelings and determined to earn Blaire’s forgiveness…and his brothers’.
Filled with humor, wit, charm, and emotion, Loved You Once is both a second chance/redemption love story and the jump point for the series.
Claudia does a fantastic job of showing just enough of each brother’s issues to make the reader fully invested in seeing how each story (and the overarching storyline) plays out!
I can already tell this is going to be a bingeworthy series!
OMG!!!!!! This book blew me away! I absolutely LOVED it and could not get enough of the story.
I was so sad when I got to the end because I was not ready to let these characters go. I need more and I am so glad that this specifically says it is Book 1 because that gives me hope that I will be able to get my hands on more books about this family soon!
Hayes and Blaire are such amazing characters. They have such chemistry, but because of their past they are closed off to the idea of a relationship When Hayes realizes he has the chance to make things right with Blaire he really lets his guard down which begins to change his relationship with his family as well.
Get ready to be taken on one heck of an emotional ride. This book has EVERYTHING you could want in a great book.

This book has romance, drama, funny dramas and a group of sexy brothers!! Congratulations Claudia cant wait to read the next one!!
I didn’t read the blurb before diving into this book, normally I like having a general idea of where a book is heading before I start. I don’t know what I was expecting, but Loved You Once was unlike anything I’ve ever read. The storyline was unique and while I started out not liking most of the characters, they definitely grew on me by the end. Since this is the first in a series, we get a glimpse of all the Aldridge brothers, and what an interesting bunch they are! Their family dynamic is understandably shaky, and a lot of their underlying issues stem from their father’s actions, even his death. I liked getting to know all the main players for the series while paying special attention to Hayes, the unspoken ringleader of the brothers. The author did a fantastic job portraying the complexities of Hayes and Blaire’s history. Readers get a pretty good understanding of why they are how they are. There are snippets of the past laced throughout, but nothing too lengthy, just what’s necessary for the couple to move forward. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments, and steamy ones as well. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series and getting to know each of the brothers.
There is no denying the professional success that Hayes has enjoyed as a surgeon, but his personal life is another matter. When he finds out that the father he has distanced himself from has passed way he and his five other brothers are called home where he finds out the dire plan his father has for the town. It not only requires they he and his brother must reside in the family estate but the same is also required of the only woman he has ever loved who is also his brother’s widow.
Blaire is a woman with a huge heart who has endured so much in her life. She has loved and lost and now puts all her energy in ensuring the well being of others. She and Hayes were college sweethearts until he broke her heart when he left to pursue his career without her so will abide by the terms of the will but she isn’t about to let him into her heart or her life for a second time.
Hayes is determined to show Blaire that ending their relationship was the biggest mistake of his life and all he wants is a second chance to show her that she can trust him and along the way he may find the family he never had.
5 favourite-moment stars! A fabulous start to a new series!
“Blaire Wilson stole my heart the day we met, and her memory makes it impossible to fall in love with anyone.”
Hayes Aldridge has spent the last twelve years missing the love of his life. While he’s questioning where his life is going, he gets the call that his father is on his death bed. Unfortunately, by the time he arrives at his bedside, it’s too late. Little does he realise just how much his life is about to change.
“My heart is just like every muscle, it remembers Hayes, and if I’m not careful, it’ll remember how to love him.”
Blaire Wilson has spent the last twelve years trying to forget the love of her life. She’s been travelling around the world and doing good wherever she goes. When she gets a summons to Baker’s Creek, where the Aldridge family originates from, little does she realise how much her life is about to change.
“You’re the stars of my night, the sun of my days.”
This was such a fab read! We get an introduction to the Aldridge brothers and their messed up history. Blaire and Hayes were wonderful together. Twelve years apart didn’t erase the connection and chemistry between them, and I loved that they came together so naturally and seamlessly. Blaire was sweet, honest and forgiving, and I loved how she didn’t play games and was just straightforward with Hayes, even about her fears. I loved Hayes’ bravery in putting himself out there, both with Blaire and with his brothers. There was no doubting his love, passion and devotion for Blaire, and his regret about the past, and his determination to pull his family together.
This story was humorous, romantic, and complex with family ties and undercurrents. I’m so excited for this whole series and the books to come!
Loved You Once is the first book in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers, a brand new series by Claudia Burgoa. This series is about six half-brothers each with his own set of issues, reuniting after the death of their father, a workaholic, who Abandoned his children and their mothers. When he passes away he leaves everything to his estranged children, however of course a man with an ego the size William Aldridge has, he would assign stipulations in his will for his sons in order for them to get their inheritance.
This is Hayes and Blair’s story. Now there’s so much going on there. He was everything to her, then he wasn’t. He’s trying to repair his relationships with his brothers and deal with the one woman he’s never gotten over. Emotions run high in this amazing second chance romance. Full of forgiveness, love, passion, and off the charts chemistry. Claudia’s writing is poignant and beautiful and flows flawlessly from page to page. I’m sold on the Aldridge brothers and cannot wait to meet all the amazing women that capture their hearts.
* I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book!
My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
– This book has it all. I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance It was engaging and I devoured it super fast. I did not want to put this book down!
-Claudia always writes sinfully delicious love scenes!!
Cliffhanger Warning-Left me with a big smile of contentment on my face
I loved this second chance story, it was so emotional and romantic, I had to read it in one sitting!
A heartwarming second chance romance with steam AND chuckles – what more could a reader want? That is right, you want the hero to have five swoony brothers. Well, you get that too!
Loved You Once is the first book in Claudia Burgoa’s new series, The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers. Equal parts romance and family saga, this book is all about second chances and self-reflection.
At a time when Dr. Hayes Aldridge is rethinking his career and personal life while also dodging his matchmaking mother, he is thrown together with his estranged brothers and the girl that got away (Blaire). He is ready to put in the work necessary to rebuild his family and lock down the love of his life by letting go of the past and grabbing the present by…wait for it…being a grown up.
What I loved – I freaking loved that Hayes spent very little time looking for someone to blame for his mistakes, misdeeds, and unhappiness. He accepts what I call “fair share responsibility”. He is not wallowing in self pity or bitter anger. His thoughts, actions, and words align in a way that is often lacking in today’s romance novel. I also love the life choices Blaire made, given her past. She might just be one of my favorite characters in the author’s catalogue.
Being that this is book one of what is certain to be a fantastic family saga, there was a good balance between the main romance of Hayes and Blaire and the secondary characters, the remaining Aldridge brothers. Readers will get just enough time with the brothers to want more of the broody bunch of hunks.
What I appreciate the most – at a time when the world has gone crazy, Loved You Once skips the unnecessary drama that I currently find even more insufferable than usual. This is a love story, not a soap opera.. we can all use a love story right now.
I loved reading about Blair and Hayes and ALL of the Aldridge brothers!!!! I cannot wait to read more of them!!!! This book was beyond yummy!!!! Claudia Burgoa, I bow to you!!!! I loved every minute of this book!!!! I can’t wait for more!!! August can’t come quick enough!!!!!
Holy smokes this series going to be epic! We’re only one book in and I am already so intrigued by the characters. I absolutely love the premise! Five half-brothers who for the most part aren’t involved in each other’s lives are forced to come together to save a town their ancestors started. Even though this is Hayes and Blaire’s story, you also get the background on the brothers and lays the foundation for the series.
I really loved Hayes and Blaire’s second chance and am sad they missed out on 12 years together. They have always loved each other and Hayes isn’t missing out on his chance to get Blaire back. They are so sweet together and I loved that there wasn’t any drama in the rekindling of their romance. I cannot wait for more!!
Claudia Burgoa’s phenomenal writing never fails to express the most delicious, heartaching, heartbreaking and intense emotions perfectly. Also her words never miss the target. And that is my heart. Loved You Once was a gripping and mesmerising tale of second chance and new beginning. And I fell in love instantly, hopelessly and easily.
Alridge brothers ( technically half brothers) have few similarities. A billionaire father who was always absent and never loyal to their moms. Twisted bringing ups. And as a result they are all permanently damaged somehow irrespective of their success and riches. Now after death of William Alridge, his will has forced all of them to come to Baker’s Creek, the small town their ancestors founded. Hayes Alridge, the famous Orthopaedic Surgeon and the eldest brother has suffered the most by their father’s cruelty and neglect. But now he has to take the lead to unite them to save the town by completing the insane task William has given in his will. Even if it means facing his first love, worst mistake and his little brother Carter’s widow Blaire.
Someone please stop the bleeding from the gaping wound my poor chest. My heart does not exist anymore. The heartache burnt so good and I didn’t want the torture to end. Hayes and Blaire were soulmates but Hayes hurt her irrevocably and she doesn’t know if she can forgive the person who broke her beyond repair. But legendary love stories don’t die so easily. Hayes has reduced himself to this emotionally unavailable person who cannot forget his love, who cannot forgive himself and who is still unsure about future. My heart aches for this lost man. But Blaire brought colour to his heart and that transformation is awe inspiring. He becomes this stubborn, determined, cunningly charming, alpha possessive and swoonworthy man. And he owns my heart.
Blaire’s marriage to Carter has bigger secrets and later she dedicated her life to caring underprivileged kids all over the world. Blaire is my brave warrior. She is so incredibly fierce. She could have been destroyed by her pain and the physical challenges. But she rose above everything and spread love rather than bitterness. I love every bit of her loving, caring, sassy, sweet and compassionate heart. They have a truly magical chemistry. Every time they came together, sparks fly everywhere. They filled the void of years and became true partners. It was not an easy journey to overcome ages of sufferings, anger, guilt, mistrust and longing. But they have this unique connection that goes above and beyond everything. But it’s not over in Baker’s Creek and I cannot wait to get back to life of Alridge brothers!
Loved You Once by Claudia Burgoa once again proves why she is one of my most favourite romance writers ever. She turns the most simple story to the most remarkable read. All the soul deep and incredible feels for Hayes and Blaire!
Received ARC for honest review
Holy grumpy, grumbly bunch of hotness!! This new series hit the ground running! Loved You Once was the first book in Claudia’s Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. It was full of angst, love, and second chances!
Blaire thought she had left him in the past but one phone call would change her world again. She was a survivor but could she survive seeing Hayes again? He had broken her heart and she had married his brother. Living together for the next 18 months should be a breeze, right?
What a concept! Not only did we get to see a sexy second chance, we got a sneak peek on every swoonworthy brother!! I am looking forward to every book…I can’t wait to see how everything plays out!
This is going to be a fun series if this first book is anything to go on!
Each of the Aldridge brothers will have their own book, and its going to be fun watching them all find the love the so desperately need. This is Hayes and Blaire’s story and it’s a second chance romance which I really enjoy reading.
The background between Hayes and Blaire is simple yet complicated. The simple part is that they dated for two years before he broke things off to go to John Hopkins University for Medical School, the complicated part of it all is that Blaire went on and married Hayes’ younger brother Carter, her best friend, before he passed away. Now for the really complicated part of it all, fast forward twelve years and Hayes’ father has passed away and has called all of his sons to the reading of his will, since Carter has passed Blaire is to attend as his widow. Hayes and Blaire haven’t seen one another since some hateful words were said but they still have feelings for one another. See what I mean about complicated!
This was a great start to the series. This story not only gave us a a second chance romance to root for but it set up each of the next few stories very nicely. We get to know each of the brothers and what has been going on in their lives, and for me it was amazing to see how one person or maybe two, Blaire and Sophie, were able to get everyone to do the right thing even though just about everyone was against doing it.
This book is for anyone that enjoys Contemporary Romance, Second Chance Romances, Small Town Romances, or Family Sagas.
Happy Reading!!!
What a great start to a new series! I fell in love with not just Blaire and Hayes but the family and friends too. This is a slow burn as we get to experience everything from what happened in their pasts and them forgiving and moving forward. I was hooked!
Having read the book when it was first release has nothing on the actual audio. At first I had a hard time with the male narrator because it sounded monotone but then he picks it up with the interactions with his brothers and Blaire and I was hooked. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, and I swooned. I love Stella Hunter and in this story she doesn’t disappoint. Together, the narrators do a phenomenal job of bringing this dysfunctional family to life.
Loved You Once -The Bakers Creek Billionaire Brothers #1 by Claudia Burgoa is a great new series that has the emotions and heart while taking the reader on a journey of family dynamics, battered hearts, rediscovered love, 2nd chance romance, moving and powerful love plus heartwarming family scenes where half brothers band together and open up to a brighter world. The plot was really great, the characters are extremely likeable; the wit and steam just adds to the plot. Fantastic story!!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********
Dr. Hayes Aldridge gets a phone message that his father is has cancer, is going into hospice, and requests his presence. When her arrives at his father’s Manhattan penthouse his father has just died. Now he needs to get his half brothers together to hear the reading of the will, but he has been estranged from them for years.
There are two main stories here, Hayes second chance at love with the woman he basically dumped in college, and the brothers fractured relationships and Hayes attempt to get them together to save the town his father owned in Baker’s Creek, OR.
Everybody likes Blaire, who was in love with Hayes until he broker her heart. When Carter, a close friend and Hayes’ brother is dying, he marries Blaire, making her a participant in the will’s requirements. Blaire is just a wonderful character, she uses her medical skills helping people around the world with her organization, Carter’s Kids Foundation.
All the brothers are rich, famous and gorgeous. And all of them carry the emotional scares of a father who went from one woman to another, fathering sons, and then leaving their lives. I was saddened how the older ones were just withdrawn from everyone, while the younger brothers have banded together but resent the oldest ones, especially Hayes.
This is a wonderful story, and the characters are all so different. I’m especially impressed with Blaire and Sophia, Hunter’s PA. Everyone is kept on edge wondering if all the brothers will pull together to save the town, and getting to know the town’s inhabitants is hilarious. I was very happy with the ending but can’t wait to read to the next book in this series.
I received an eARC of Loved You Once and this is my honest review.
Loved You Once is the first book in a brand new series by Claudia Burgoa, The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers. The Aldridge brothers are six brothers, all fathered by William Tower Aldridge, a man who made billions in business, and left a woman and child in about every city. The brothers are all very successful in their own ways, now, as adults, but are all resentful of one another and haven’t been together in twelve years, ever since the seventh brother, Carter, died. This is Hayes, the second to the oldest of the brothers, story, and the woman he left behind twelve years ago, Blaire. It is told in both of their point of views.
Hayes Aldridge is a sought after orthopedic surgeon in San Francisco. He’s thirty five years old. Without having known he was even sick, Hayes gets a call from his father’s lawyer informing him of his pending death, and that he is needed at his father’s home. He hasn’t seen him in years and there is no relationship with him. Hayes’ mother is the only woman his father actually married. And Carter was his full brother, until he lost him twelve years ago.
Hayes is informed that he and his five brothers and also his ex-girlfriend, Blaire, are all required to be present at the reading of his father’s will in Baker’s Creek, Oregon. It’s there they learn that in order to save the town from liquidation, since his father owned most of the little town, they will ALL be required to move to Baker’s Creek within thirty days and reside at the family home, a home in much need of repair, and run the businesses his father owned.
Blaire Wilson is thirty two years old and runs a non-profit that requires her to travel all over the world caring for children in need. Blaire has a complicated history with the Aldridge brothers, with Hayes and Carter. Hayes was her first everything, a love greater than life, until he left her and broke her heart. Seeing him brings back every single memory, both the good and bad.
“My Blaire. My stardust. My best everything.”
Seeing how his father died, alone, forces Hayes to re-evaluate his life. Now is his chance to make things right. To prove to Blaire that she was the love of his life, and to give him another chance. He can never make up for the wrongs of his past, but he can prove to her that she is his future.
“All I want is to kiss her forever. Become her oxygen. Beat at the rhythm of her heart. Fill her up and beg her to make me whole again.”
In this book we get to know all the brothers a little bit, even though the focus is on Hayes and Blaire. Their relationships are complicated but I love the hope that Hayes has to make everything right. And to make things right with Blaire. I have to admit that towards the end, things were pretty intense and I was flipping the pages to see what would happen next. The epilogue was perfect, the ending made me smile. Now I can’t wait for the next book, Henry’s story, in A Moment Like You.
“Only you make me believe.”
This is such a great start to a new series! I love it when a sexy, rich alpha redeems himself in this second chance, small-town read. After the death of their father, 6 brothers are forced to live together and face their demons. Included in this mess is Blaire, the woman Hayes sees as the one he shouldn’t have let go. Blaire was left so heartbroken 12 years back and Hayes is willing to do anything to prove his love is real and his regret of leaving her behind. There’s also animosity from the brothers towards Blaire and we get to see it played out through the book. Add on top trying to save their town, things get really crazy in this household. I loved it all, the humor, the emotions, the drama, self-reflection, and forgiveness. Not to mention, sexy. I am looking forward to the rest of the series and see where all their stories take us!
