USA Today Bestselling author Claudia Burgoa presents a heartwarming, sexy romance about second chances and starting over. After a week off the grid, I finally get reception and the first voicemail I hear stuns me.“You’re summoned to Baker’s Creek by the late William Tower Aldridge.”Twelve Years. It’s been twelve years since the last time I heard from the Aldridge family. That one voicemail … Aldridge family.
That one voicemail changes everything—I need the money the late William offers.
In exchange, I have to live eighteen months in Baker’s Creek.
I’ve survived cancer, the jungle, and the plague.
This should be easy compared to all that, right?
Or so I think until…I see him.
Confident, charismatic, bitter, sexy as hell, Doctor Hayes Benjamin Aldrige.
My first love, my first kiss—my late husband’s brother.
He hates me.
He still hasn’t forgiven me for walking out on him, and I can’t blame him. It’s been over ten years, and I still have feelings for him.
But I faked it once and I can fake it twice.
I can survive eighteen months and that’ll be the last time I see the Aldridge brothers.
Isn’t it?

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend.
Very unique story. Loved the characters.
Light romance, easy to read. Loved the characters.
Loved this story. I ended up buying the rest of the books in the series after reading this one. The whole series is great!
VERY WELL WRITTEN. Hayes took charge and got it done.
Although this is a stand alone…Can’t wait to read more.
A little too drawn out.
Loved it! This is the first book of the series and I fell in love with the characters. This couple was the perfect way to introduce us to the family. I have already read the first three books Baker’s Creek series. I can’t wait for the rest to be available. Great Job Claudia!
Too many characters to keep up with. The flashback memories were too much. Story was so confusing.
Blaire and Hayes
This was a fun book to read with lots of interesting characters. They all had tragic beginnings but are trying their best to move on.
Love how everything had follow through
My biggest gripe, in a sibling series, is most books start with the intro of this book then boom that’s it. Yes, every man is different in theory but they talk the same and when you get to their books it doesn’t matter what their job is they could be doing anything. This one each has his own personality and place in the family. This is the story of Hayes, the beta in the group, and of course it should be the start of the series because betas get it done. Betas have enough dominant force that no one walks over them, but they have enough flexibility to listen to everyone. Betas are the bridge and glue that hold a group together. Henry is the headstrong Alpha that just wants everyone to fall in line. Pierce is the Delta he pretty much does his own thing, Mills is a Delta too. Deltas are herders when the alpha and beta have decided that this is the direction to go then they start the rest of the group following that lead. Alphas want their own way, betas create a compromise and get everyone to fall in line and deltas are pretty much autonomous unless they are needed to get the rest of the group moving. Vance is a lone wolf. He doesn’t consider himself a member of the pack because he can’t be a beta, Delta or omega but he also refuses to challenge for alpha. He’s the one most likely to be absent doesn’t mean he wants to be– he just doesn’t know where he fits in. Lone wolves are always searching for their own packs. And then Beacon, bad name btw, is the omega. The omega gets everyone’s crap but everyone is also always checking on him. The omega has to be accommodated for the alphas plan to proceed.
It was the set up book for a broader series. The series looks good, but this book was a bit weak. Hayes and Blaire love story the original one (when they were kids) looked more promising than the current day version. He is a well respected doctor but he comes across listless, aimless and lacking goals. Blaire comes across as dynamo with goals and focus. It’s hard to see why he would appeal to her now. This is supposed to be a second chance romance, but it’s hard to see where they would intersect now so the love story seemed weak.
After being forced to live together, a story of brothers who had the same father but different mothers learned about each other. This book also brought back together two doctors who loved each other once and found they still loved each other.
What could have been a good story was ruined by the Constant use of the f word.
Awww….young true love wins in the end.
Not particularly well written.
I can’t wait for other books. Was a book couldn’t put down.
This book will have you experiencing many emotions at once! It is a tale of courage and strength and a love that never faded over time. You may need to read this one a second time, just because.
Loved this book. Can’t wait to get to the second in the series!
I didn’t like it. To much like reading porn.
Interesting characters and very unusual story. Kept me focused until the very end but I was disappointed to learn I have to read another book or more to discover the ending. Really left me hanging!
