This was my first book from this author. I will be reading more.
LOVED BY YOU takes readers on an amazing journey, where the need to protect at all costs is not just the male thing, but also the one true purpose in life for a once tortured and abused woman.
Fiona appears nothing less than confident and self-assured on the surface, but hides an inner fear of the past and the repercussions of actions taken to protect herself and her child. While Justice is a warm-hearted, caring and fiercely loyal soul, who has emotional scars that are buried deep. But nothing can diminish Justice’s passion for life, so how can he convince the guy-shy and ever-cautious Fiona that their future is meant to be together when she fears putting down roots.
There’s nothing better than reading a story that makes you feel like coming home, and that was definitely the overwhelming feeling I had when I immersed myself in Loved by You. There’s nothing not to adore about the characters in this wonderful book, and the storyline grips you from the very first page. Justice is every woman’s dream and his ability to give of himself so wholeheartedly is breathtaking.
Ms McCray has penned a beautiful, heart-felt story that is destined to make her readers anxious with anticipation for what’s to come next. So even if you haven’t read anything by this talented author, I would strongly recommend that you read LOVED BY YOU.
Great read. A little slow in a couple places but a great way to spend a rainy day.
Simplistic writing. The plot was a little too easy and we just kind of jumped into the characters but it was a fun easy read.
The hero, Justice, and heroine, Fiona, are very lovable characters, along with the secondary character of Sophie. Justice’s family life with his mom and siblings is positive and welcoming. It is romantic when the hero falls hard and fast for the heroine. The book is easy to read and entertaining, although I am realizing that when I read conflict in this author’s stories, my heartbeat speeds up and I’m taken to a dark place because of the bad guys who spearhead conflict. As much as I like the personalities and ranch settings in McCray’s stories, I don’t want to read abut the villains that are reminders of the horrible people that really do exist. I would prefer the conflict to stem from something else (violent weather or circumstances that do not include violent people who want to do harm).
Story has twists that has you wanting to finish it right away.
Odd, yet Interesting pairing between a cowboy and a gypsy/Traveler. Didn’t care for this as much as the first in the series but still a very good read. Couldn’t really get a grasp on Fiona, the bad guy was awesome.
Meh! I had to force myself to finish it.
I loved that this story touched on a “real live topic” of concern to me, that of domestic violence and abuse and how it affects women and children. I think this book could be an encouragement to someone in that situation and I appreciate how well it was written as well as the issues it addressed.
Story was Okay. Billed as a contemporary romance, but really a romantic suspense. The lead male character was never really developed, but sort of understood that he was a good guy. The best news is that it was a quick read.
OK
I am sad to say that the villain of this story is the most well-written character. It had potential but fell short, plot was rushed and had to many holes. Especially the climactic fight, where they use self defense skills they supposedly learned but is never written into the story then she hears the door get kicked in…it is so poorly worded after that I think some of the pages are missing. Read Amazed By You and it was better.
