When Jamie is sent to protect an oil rig in the Seychelles from a possible pirate threat, the last thing he expects to find is love. Penelope is a chemical engineer and one of the sexiest women Jamie has ever met – and he’s met a few. Despite his best attempts to befriend her, she’d determined not to let him get close, but then the oil rig is attacked and suddenly they’re thrust together in a … situation he never expected.
When Penny agrees to a job on an exploratory oil rig in the middle of the Indian Ocean, she doesn’t expect to meet a smoking hot, blue-eyed ex-military private security contractor who looks like he’s just stepped out of Sports Illustrated and who’s dimpled smile makes her weak at the knees. But she’s known men like Jamie before – cocky, confident and only after a good time. No way is she falling for him. But when disaster strikes and they get stranded on a deserted island, Penny sees a different side to the loveable rogue – a side she could easily fall in love with.

This was the third book in the SAS Rogue Series. When Louise Rose-Innes said that Penny and Jamie took her on a roller coaster ride, she wasn’t kidding. Wow, once I started reading I found it hard to put down. Grab a cold drink, some Kleenex and a comfortable spot because you’ll be there for a while. Great book, great characters and plenty of twists. Plenty of drama, some danger, suspense and chemistry that’s off the charts. A great book that you’ll be glad you chose to read.
Penny’s a chemical engineer who’s landed her dream job on an oil rig in the Seychelles. But at five am on the morning of her first full day, when she goes out on deck to practice yoga, something hot, hard and heavy lands on her.
Jamie’s a security guard for the oil company, working the night shift. Whoever is sneaking about in the dark like a ninja assassin shouldn’t be there. But when he realises the predator is a pretty new hire called Penny, surprise turns to desire. He’s a one woman a night kind of guy, but Penny stirs in his heart feelings he’s never had before and he asks her out. Dating on an oil rig isn’t private or romantic, but as they slowly start to get to know each other, maybe their relationship could have a future.
However, something’s not right. Penny may be new to the job and inexperienced, but when the test drilling sites start to turn up water, not oil, she starts to investigate. Just as she’s getting answers, the unthinkable happens. Now Penny and Jamie are running for their lives, and stuck on an uninhabited desert island with the enemy closing in, and no way out and. Can Penny trust her life as well as her heart with Jamie, or is everything about to end just as it was starting?
Loveable Rogue is a page-turning romp of a read, with a hot hero who’ll stop at nothing to keep the woman he’s falling in love with safe. Louise Rose-Innes has written a fabulous book with wonderful characters, and a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way to the end. I absolutely loved this book and if you’re new to romantic suspense then it’s the perfect place to start!
Deftly plotted page-turner that draws you in and makes you want to read it until the very end. If you enjoy loads of action, edge of you seat suspense and sizzling romance, this story is for you.
Interesting to get a little insight into the workings of an oil rig and a little of the science behind it. The story has action and intrigue. It could have done with a bit more proofreading to take out some of the grammatical errors though.
They won’t be sipping on any Pina Colada’s on this deserted island
Loveable Rogue is the third book in the SAS Rogue Unit series and boy things just keep getting better and better with each book. This time the story is about Jamie and Penelope (Penny) and a oil rig in the Indian Ocean, nothing like being stuck on a platform in the sea with no where to go.
Jamie Scott is former Special Forces and currently working as a security consulting for Xonex Energy Services on one of their drilling rigs in the Seychelles Islands, off the coast of Africa. He is there to help guard the rig against pirates and other things.
Penny Rider is a chemical engineer who has been hired by Xonex Energy Services to work on one of their drilling rigs. She meets Jamie on her first day and there is a definite attraction between them. But this is work and she is there to do a job. But before long she realizes that things are not quite what they should be with her job. One day she is traveling to another rig in the area when there is an explosion by pirates and it sinks her rig. Everyone except for Jamie dies and she is able to double back and save him. In the midst of this they have to outrun the pirates and end up finally landing on a deserted island. Nothing like being marooned on a deserted island with a smoking hot and sexy protective Alpha!!! Jamie’s Special Forces Alpha takes charge using all of his survival skills to ensure the two of them live along with protecting them when the pirates try to kill them again, after all they can’t have any witnesses left to what they did. Throughout all of this harrowing adventure their attraction for each other keeps growing as do their feelings for each other.
This story is filled with all sorts of intense action, mystery, adventure, romance and of course of smoking hot chemistry. This book is well written with a nicely crafted story-line that has a good blend of romance and adventure to make for an exciting story on several levels. The characters of Jamie and Penny are well developed and were great together. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it and the previous two in the series to other readers.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of action, danger and sadness. Jamie was one of the guards on board the oil rig. Protecting it from pirates along with Andrew, who served with him. Penny was a chemical engineer hired to check samples for oil. But when she found descrepencies she told the one person she thought she could trust and worked with. An IED was found by Jamie and he and Andrew attempted to disarm it but it was too late. Penny was out checking samples when it happened. Jamie was the only one she found alive. It was a race to stay alive and find out what was going on. I loved this book because there was a lot of action and a really good story line.
