The Gentileschi Sisters are daughters of a king, princesses who come to the U.S. to pursue their careers and fall in love with seemingly unsuitable men. After the untimely death of her young husband, Mariella Gentileschi Moretti has had enough heartache in her twenty-three years. Now at Georgetown Law School, she’s determined to protect herself and her daughter from the perils of the world. But … world. But when she takes a class from law professor and Pulitzer Prize winner Dr. Jordan Dubois, she finds herself drawn to him.
Jordan’s life is mess and he grabbed the chance to become a visiting professor at Georgetown to get away from his problems. More complications face him when he meets the lovely young widow. He’s captivated by her gentle ways, so different from the women he left behind in France.
She’s in his class so he can’t avoid her. Their six-year-old daughters become best friends at an after school program at the university. And they simply can’t stop the moving forces that seduce them into a doomed relationship. A guaranteed tear-jerker, their story will move the reader to cheer for their reunion.
Don’t miss this charming six-book series of novellas: I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, THIS GUY’S IN LOVE, CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE, HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE?, LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER and I THINK I LOVE YOU!

I enjoyed the development of the two main characters as well as the interaction of their daughters. Love Will Keep Us Together is a compelling and heartbreaking story both at the same time. The affair between a student and a professor is always a touchy subject even if the participants are consenting adults. The rising action was thoroughly entertaining and believable and the emotions fitting for the turmoil Jordan and Marci were experiencing. My four star rating is based on the abrupt conclusion. More dialogue and description between the characters would have helped tremendously for a compelling and believable conclusion.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This book is such an emotional roller-coaster. I was so happy that Mariella’s story was finally here. She married young to a man that was chosen for her by her father the King of Casarina. Arturo died not too long after they were married and had a daughter, Lilliana. Lilliana becomes very close to another young girl her age, Yvette. They are so close they could be sisters! Yvetta’s father (Jordan) becomes friends with Mariella as the children both attend the same child care for the university’s staff and students alike. Mariella is accepted in the ethics program along with 9 other students that is taught by Jordan. The two become close but decide to wait to further their relationship until the class is over as it would be unethical for a teacher/student relationship.
Jordan is also a Pulitzer Prize winner on his ethics book. Unfortuately Jordan has a messy background that could interfere with his present and future relationship with Mariella.
This book is written in a dual POV format. This is really great for me as a reader to get into the character’s mind set. To fully understand them and get to know them as people.
This book becomes such an intense read. I really couldn’t put it down. I really felt like I was right there watching everything unfold for the characters and they chance to grab a hold of their HEA.

Love Will Keep Us Together by Kathryn Shay is book 5 in the Gentileschi Sisters series. While it is a standalone reading the prior books gives you more background into the family.
Mariella (Mari) married at a young age and at 23 she is now a widow raising her daughter while finishing her final semester of law school. Her professor, Dr. Jordan Dubois also is raising a daughter who attends the same school as Mari’s daughter. The girls become fast friends and want to spend time together but due to no fraternization between teacher and student, the adults try to keep their distance but sparks are all around them…
So much emotion, family support, infidelity in the past, passion, ups and downs and finding love when you least expect it…
Although Jordan is Mari’s professor, he also sees her as woman, something he tries to fight. His daughter and hers are besties and they are really good at working their parents to get what they want, time together. Jordan and Mari get to know each other on a professional level and personal level and are drawn to each other. It’s not the right thing to do but they can’t seem to stay apart despite their best efforts. But when the mother of his child decides to show up, we learn more about him and just how complicated doing the right thing can be. These sisters are so close and always there to support each other! Each story has been a delight and a quick read. Looking forward to more! I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Mariella is a young widow with a daughter, Lilly. She is also attending law school. Jordan is a visiting professor with a daughter, Yvette who becomes fast friends with Lilly. Mariella is also in Jordan’s highly sought after ethics class. I love how Kathryn Shay portrays the classroom, students’ interactions and assignments. She gets the teaching point across with some humor thrown in. However, as the story develops some serious issues are brought up. This story also brought tears for Mariella as she described her relationship with Lilly’s father as well as her current heartbreak. At the end I really wished the story would continue on as I enjoyed reading it so much. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Five stars for Kathryn Shay’s newest release.

This is the fifth book in Kathryn Shay’s “Gentileschi Sisters” series. This book can easily be read as a stand-alone book. However, the reader will enjoy the story better if she reads all of them in order.
This series is about seven women from Casarina, a small country in Europe. Even though their parents are the king and queen of this country, the princesses have chosen to live and work in the United States.
“Love Will Keep Us Together” is the story of Mariella (Mari) and Jordan. Mari is in her final year of law school, and Jordan, a Frenchman, is the professor of her Ethics and Lawyers Seminar class.
Mari and Jordan both have young daughters the same age. The two girls, Lilliana and Yvette, go to the same school and have become best friends. This becomes a difficult situation for Mari and Jordan because people might consider their own friendship to be unethical.
However, Lilliana’s and Yvette’s friendship is the catalyst for the attraction between Mari and Jordan. Unfortunately, these feelings could be seen as an even bigger ethics violation, especially for Jordan. It could easily end his career. Therefore, the couple decides to wait, albeit impatiently, until the class is over.
When I began reading this book, I was fascinated by the first page. Ms. Shay uniquely begins her book with seven “statements.” At first I was unsure if I was reading the correct book. As I read on, I realized that these statements are actually jokes that highlight horrible traits often associated with lawyers. It definitely is a fun way to get my attention!
Odd as they are, these jokes illustrate Jordan’s unusual approach teaching. They illustrate his unusual technique to teaching. This same unusual style depicts Jordan’s personality and the way he lives his life.
In the midst of this couple’s slowly blooming relationship, Mari and Jordan encounter a complication involving Yvette and her mother. This situation causes a major setback to Jordan’s relationship with Mari and upsets his entire life.
This is a beautiful clean romance that is a short quick read.
Kathryn Shay’s “Love will Keep us Together” is book 5 in the Gentileschi Sister Series.
I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series about the sisters and can’t wait for the next one to come out.
This is the story of Mariella & Jordan. It deals with Ethic, Chemistry, and their daughter’s.
Mariella is in her last year of graduate school and Jordan is her Ethic Professor. Their daughters are best friends and they don’t understand the situation they are putting their parents through. Throw in a wife who has been blackmailing for years and refuses to give him a divorce. This is a great story about second chances, cheating, heartbreak, blackmail and heartache. i would recommend this book.
I received an ARC for my honest review!
Mariella Moretti is finishing her last semester of law school. Her professor is the renown Dr. Jordan Dubois. Although they realize there’s an attraction, they both acknowledge that it would not be appropriate to act on it while Mari’s his student. Unfortunately, their daughters are best friends, so they are becoming more and more involved in each other’s lives. That is until Jordan’s secrets are exposed, and Mari realizes they cannot have the life together she wants.
This involves the tricky subject of infidelity, which may be difficult for some to accept, but it was handled in a compassionate manner, suiting the characters’ story. At times I found Jordan’s behavior frustrating because for such an intelligent man, he handled his situation poorly. Instead of getting out in front of the problem, he let himself be dragged behind, which ultimately could cost him his true happiness.
It’s an engaging tale, filled with all the right elements: emotions, drama and steamy passion. Mari’s and Jordan’s daughters are endearing but a bit headstrong. There are moments when together their wills could be somewhat daunting. The characters are very well drawn and believable. It is a very entertaining read, which will hold your attention from beginning to end. My only true criticism is the ending was a little abrupt. I realize there’s another story yet to come, and the answers may be in that book, but I would have liked to know the outcome of Jordan’s issues in this one. Despite that one matter, I highly recommend this very good story and series.
So many emotions. Tough ethical issues. A well-written story that will tug at your heart strings. And if you’re like me, it will also make you mad. The character development in this story will carry you along. Mari and Jordan work. Their kids are cute and get along, and in a perfect world their relationship would be golden. I really enjoyed getting to know them. However, cheating is a choice and any “reason” is an excuse.
This is Mariella’s story; we’ve met this quiet widowed sister in the previous books, and finally we see her in her home and have sight of her life. She’s studying law, with the aim of going back to Casarina to reform the laws, and, as a student, she meets her Ethics professor Jordan, who is also her daughter’s best friend’s father. Jordan is a Pulitzer Prizewinner, and in the process of writing his second book. He’s also still entangled financially and messily with his daughter’s mother, and therein lies a lot of the conflict for Mariella. As always, the sisters rally round for Mari, especially Raven – giving us a view to the next story – and, as always, the girls’ mother and her sixth sense about her daughters comes to the rescue.
I’ve loved each of the Gentileschi books that I’ve read, and I can’t wait for Raven. It’s also such a pleasure to see the other sisters in each book, watching their relationships and lives continue. I received an advance copy of this work.
This is the first book I have read in this series and I have to say I was blown away by this story. I loved every minute of it and when it was over I kept checking my kindle to see if there was more because I didn’t want it to end.
This is Mariella and Jordan’s story and boy oh boy what a story it is. I mean there are secrets, and pain and love lots of love. I felt so sad for Mariella because she lost her husband and is now a widow with a daughter to raise on her own but she took it in strides and did what she had to do. Going back to school to finish her degree was one thing she wanted to do and then she did it and while at school she gets a new professor and starts to fall for him but well she is a student and he is the professor so it is forbidden but the chemistry these two share if of the hook.
Jordan had run from France as fast as he could because he does not want to deal with the problems there. He wants his daughter to have a better life and he takes her New England where he is going to be a visiting professor and start over nice and fresh. It is there at the school that his daughter meets Mariella’s daughter and they become best friends. That puts Jordan and Mariella together quite often and they both can’t help but to fall for each other.
Love Will Keep Us Together is the fifth book in The Gentileschi Sisters series and definitely worth reading.
Love Will Keep Us Together is Jordan and Mariella’s love story along with their two precocious little girls who are adored and loved deeply.
Mariella and Jordan both had moved to the D.C. area to start over with a new lease on life.
It was the perfect plan for Mariella because she had sisters in the area that she could spend time with and they could take care of Lilliana when needed.
She and Jordan gravitated toward each other because they were lonely and because their daughters spent so much time together, but their relationship was going to complicate an already complicated situation and Jordan was afraid that in the process Mariella might get hurt.
I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books in this wonderful series.
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
