Every so often a story comes along that makes a reader stop and take notice. It’s never one specific aspect for me but the combined product that has a profound affect. Love Walks In by Samantha Chase is one of those reads. Thank you Samantha Chase for writing such a thought provoking story.
This story was a hard read for me. Beautifully written with characters that any reader can picture and love. What broke me in two was the heartbreaking circumstances that left such a lasting footprint on the lives of such young vital people. Aubrey lost her dream, her family and the way she felt about herself in one instant. Hugh lost his center and closed his heart. There was a positive with Aubrey and Hugh’s story they learned not to take life for granted. That is a lesson we all need to remember. A powerful story…but then again from Samantha Chase, I’d expect nothing less.
Hugh Shaughnessy likes his life to be organized, planned with no surprises. Well, he didn’t anticipate Aubrey Burke who completely turns his world upside down.
Aubrey wants to finally live her life. She wants to try new experiences and take risks. It’s something she had been denied growing up and working for her father.
Hugh who believes the only way to live is the safe way. As he and Aubrey begin a relationship, her adventures make Hugh uncomfortable but, he tries to control his feelings about it.
Their story seems to be a balancing act between their two personalities. It is the pieces they hold back that will ruin it if they don’t communicate and let go of the past.
This story is tender-hearted and touching.
Great Story
Hugh was the second son and after his mom died he turned into such a detail oriented guy. Aubrey has always tried different things. When she ends up at Hugh’s resort in Napa running from a mistake she ends up meeting him while crawling through his office window to get her luggage. Little did they both that moment would change their lives.
I truly enjoyed reading it!

Absolutely loved this book and the characters.
You will need kleenex.
I’ve had Samantha Chase on my TBR pile for awhile now. Glad I finally read this book. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more in this series!
Love this series! So emotional! Hugh feels guilty his entire life because he was a typical teenage boy testing his limits & his mother died in a car accident. He deals with his guilt by controlling his entire life & rigidly scheduling everything. Aubrey is rebelling from her parents & restrictions for the first time. The chemistry is hot, instantaneous & intense.
This book is an intense journey about how two separate people deal with their lives & how they adjust to each other. The complex storyline draws you in from the beginning (Aubrey breaking into Hugh’s office window & giving him a view of her thong) & keeps you enthralled. The characters are three dimensional & easy to relate to. They have problems to deal with just like you & I. Samantha Chase has an excellent writing style that keeps you involved & guessing as to parts of the storyline.
A must read! Can’t wait for Anna & Quinn’s story!
