From the New York Times bestselling author of I’d Give Anything and I’ll Be Your Blue Sky comes a “bewitching, warmhearted grown-up fairy tale about old movies, charming princes, and finding happily ever after in the place where you’d least expect it” (Jennifer Weiner). When Martin Grace enters the hip Philadelphia coffee shop Cornelia Brown manages, her life changes forever. But little does she … changes forever. But little does she know that her newfound love is only the harbinger of greater changes to come. Meanwhile, across town, Clare Hobbs—eleven years old and abandoned by her erratic mother—goes looking for her lost father. She crosses paths with Cornelia while meeting with him at the café, and the two women form an improbable friendship that carries them through the unpredictable currents of love and life.

‘Loved Walked In’ is one of my all-time favorites. It’s a beautifully-written love story, but not a traditional romance. Instead, it’s about finding family in unexpected places, and the love that can take us home again. I re-read it every year (snuggled up with a hot drink in the fall) and never fail to be transported into Cordelia and Claire’s world.
I love this book soooo much! I saw it on my Bookbub specials today and realized I’ve never recommended it–but I can’t possibly recommend it too highly. The characters are richly realized, quirky and charming and will at times tear your heart out. Take the journey with them, and I’m betting you’ll wind up as I did (and do–it’s on my keeper shelf and gets a re-read now and again): unable to forget them, sighing that the story is over (except it’s not because de los Santos lets us have them back again down the road–yay!) and thoroughly inspired by the time I spent engrossed in them. Treat yourself!
Awesome book. Awesome writer
I love this book. From the start, I was pulled right in. It probably helps that the classic movie references immediately warmed my heart. The writing is smart, funny, and warm. I love these characters, and they read like people you’d want to know better and call friends. The story is wonderful, the character development is excellent, and the dialogue is a dream. Enjoy every word!
Wonderful character development with sensitivity to topics involving mental health issues and the social-emotional needs of children.
Just okay
Such a heartwarming tale of the things we do for love! The author’s writing style was very enjoyable. The characters were well developed (I loved the quirkiness of some of them!), and the story line was refreshingly different.
I borrowed “Loved Walked In” by Marisa de los Santos from the public library. Then I borrowed the rest of the series. THEN I PURCHASED EVERY BOOK SHE WROTE, but the poetry.
Her books are realistic to today’s times beautifully written and enthralling!!!
I hope she will write many books for me tobuy and read!
too much bad language! I was drawn to it by the title, but i didn’t finish it.
Marisa de Los Santos is an incredible writer! She chooses just the right words, creates character you want as friends and comfort books you want to read again and again.
