A swoon-worthy romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix! A smokin’ hot single father & a heroine running from her past collide in an emotional small town romance. Alaska offers Emma the chance for a fresh start. She has less than zero need for a man, thank you very much. But she wasn’t counting on Trey Holden. He’s so hot, her defenses melt at nothing more than a smile. He’s also … melt at nothing more than a smile. He’s also a father, pilot, and lawyer all in one. Meanwhile, Emma’s life is more than a hot mess.
It’s absolutely not smart to fall for Trey. Yet, smart isn’t part of the equation when the fire between Trey and Emma burns too hot to be ignored.
The past Emma’s trying to escape follows her to Alaska. Even though Trey is everything she needs, she pushes him away just when she needs him most.
Trey isn’t a man to walk away from a challenge. He’s that kind of hero—strong, protective and willing to fight for the woman he loves.
Trey & Emma’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance and protective heroes who fall for smart, sassy heroines.

This is the second by this author that I had read and it was just as good as the first one, in this series.
I love the that the author entangled the characters so that they all have their own book. She writes with a great knowledge of the subject matter that she is writing about.
Don’t want to give away the storyline to much but it was a very good read. Going on to read another book in that series.
I love Alaska- author really does go into some good detail on the area.
Good read. Book descriptions made me feel like I was right there in Alaska. Great characters that make me keep trading the characters.
I love JH Croix stories about Alaska. They make you just want to pick up and move to that beautiful area.
Love this series! The characters are engaging as is the descriptions of the Alaskan scenery.
Always love books by JH Croix, she never disappoints!
I enjoyed catching up with some of the familiar characters from Diamond Creek, Alaska as well as meeting some new ones.
a good read will read more of her books
liked it a lot, as I have with all of this series.
A must read.
A little slow and predictable.
I like the whole series
Excellent story!!
I didn’t like it
Enjoyed the book, didn’t, to put it down
I was enjoying this book UNTIL the name of Jesus Christ was used as slang.
That is offensive, and I immediately stop reading, no matter how much I
liked the story.
From the first page I was captured! Creative writing that captures your interest beyond the usual love story.
Author never ceases to bring the beauty of Alaska throughout the pages. Her characters are strong and resourceful. They band together I’m joy and adversity. Through this handful of characters, she encompasses the true pioneer spirit of Alaska.
A standalone read with a HEA. Set in Diamond Creek, Alaska, part of a series but can be read as a standalone. He is a pilot, head of his own sightseeing flights company. He is also a widower with a 6 year old son he is raising on his own. He is also a lawyer. This guy has it going on!! He is quite good looking and has quite a few of the local ladies hot on his trail. he is not interested.
Emma is a new resident to Alaska. She left the US to escape an abusive husband and to try to find her biological parents living in Alaska. She discovers her parents are deceased but she has a full-blood sister. Emma has caught the eye of Trey;s 6 yr. old son. He is interesting in getting himself a mother and his dad a wife. These two have quite the journey as they discover their own feelings and they deal with the out of control ex.
It is a good story. Very interesting and lots to say about Alaska. I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.
