Miscommunications and missed opportunities
Love to Hate You is the sixth book in The Billionaire’s Whim series and is the story of Jackie and Brent. This is the first book in this series that I have read and I am hooked. This is well written, has an engaging and interesting story-line and some great characters. The only thing I did not like was one of the characters that I wanted to take out of the mix completely. But otherwise I really enjoyed this story.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Splendid romance about Jackie, who is a bit of a doormat for men especially her ex and Brent, a really charming guy albeit at times a jerk. It takes a while for them to get on the same page, just for outside influences to again start pulling them apart.
The author did a great job developing the characters and building growth and maturity all while highlighting and describing the emotions and feelings between Jackie and Brent and their growing attraction to each other. I enjoyed the banter and laughter between them and I found myself rooting for them. It took a frustrating long time for Jackie to build up some confidence and stand up to Dennis her ex, who is using her to provide his creature comforts at her expense while insulting, putting her down and manipulating her to feel bad about not pleasing him. The Karma aimed at Dennis at the end of the book definitely adds to the appeal of the book.

This another fun romance tale with ups and downs on both sides. I had a lot of laughs with this book. Jackie and Brent had me giggling.
There are falsehoods, misunderstandings, and outright lies to maneuver in this tale. The trick is whether Brent and Jackie make it through, or not.
I like how this series leads from one friend to the next, on their journeys to love.
I am hoping to read more.
Ouch my heart, what Brent has to go through to finally get his date with Jackie. Her ex is a piece of work. But a very enjoyable story for the reader to enjoy! Can Brent get Jackie or will Jackie run?

I liked this book. The story was well written and flowed beautifully. The characters were well defined within the story and they had such great chemistry. I loved the ending. If you like the works of this wonderful author, then this book is a must-read.

An enjoyable romantic well written sweet second chance love story. This smooth flowing story includes some mixture of drama, insecurities, personal struggles, misunderstandings, miscommunications, conflicts, and more. These two strong characters are well developed, relatable, passionate, strong characters with a mix of some steamy hotness and addictive hot chemistry. A great series addition, I love it’s a standalone with recurring characters but has it’s very own HEA. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC and can’t wait to read more romantic adventures.
One night is it worth it? Bad decisions in the past haven’t gotten Jackie anywhere just sorrow. Jackie has seen Brent kind around enough he’s charming, gorgeously handsome can get any woman he wants but he has set target on Jackie. Will she let her guard down and let him charm is way in? Phenomenal story! Characters that you can feel in your heart. A storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat and glued to your kindle! For me it was a love-hate deal as the main characters face the harsh reality. A must read. Grab your copy today and start reading. Enjoy happy reading

Jackie had a horrible background with lovers, including being left at the altar. Brent knew from first look she was meant to be with him. Now he had to convince her. They have a really bumpy journey if the want to reach their HEA. Good read!

Liliana Rhodes has written a 5-star book. Jackie meets Brent at her best friend Samantha’s wedding. At first, she doesn’t like him and wants nothing to do with him. Brent gets Jackie to give him her phone # and tells her he will call her. She waits for him to call but he never does. Unknown to Jackie, Brent does call but Dennis, Jackie’s ex-boyfriend whom she is allowing to stay with her since he is having trouble with his new apartment answers her phone and tells Brent that he is Jackie’s boyfriend and that Jackie likes to play games. Brent tries to forget Jackie but she is all he thinks about. Jackie is with Samantha and Samantha brings up Brent. Jackie tells her she does not want to talk about him since he was supposed to call her and he didn’t. Brent is always where Jackie is and he is doing things for her when she needs help. Brent finally gets Jackie to agree to go out on a date with him and go to a charity event. On the day of the date, Jackie decides she doesn’t have anything to wear and heads out to go to the mall. Dennis is there and he tells her he will go with her since he needs a new pair of jeans. This is just a trick on Dennis’s part to stall Jackie. By the time they get back to Jackie’s apartment, she just has a few minutes to get ready. While she is in the shower, Brent comes to pick her up but he meets Dennis outside and is told that Jackie is not at home and she doesn’t want to see him anymore. Brent walks away. When Jackie gets out of the shower, she asks Dennis “if Brent called?” she is told no. Brent is out with his friend Gunnar at a bar and he sees Jackie with Dennis but Dennis is ignoring Jackie and when they leave, Dennis is walking out with another woman. This makes Brent mad and he goes up to Dennis and tells him this is from Jackie and hits him. Jackie and Brent finally talk and they find out that Dennis is the one who was behind everything that went wrong.
Can Jackie and Brent get a second chance with each other?

Jackie is the maid of honour at her best friend’s wedding to Drake Winslow. The best man is Brent, the gorgeous brother of Drake. Jackie and Brent have a hot moment in the coat closet at the wedding which is being held at Sam and Drake’s home on the beach. He says that he will phone her but the call never comes. So now Jackie hates Brent. But he is extremely persistent turning up everywhere she seems to be. Then he makes her a proposition. Will she accept it? Great story and I loved the dialogue between these two.
I love this series. The characters are well written, funny, and witty. This is the story of Brent and Jackie. Jackie has had bad relationships in the past and cannot trust. She also has an ex hanging around. Brent just wants one night with Jackie to show her what she could have. The way Brent and Jackie interacted was warm and witty. Great addition to the series.

The author pulled me into to potential romance between Brent and Jackie right from the prologue. The banter between them was funny and had laughing right along with them. However, the romance did not take off like the two thought it would.
Because of the sabotage from Jackie’s ex-boyfriend at every turn. I loved how Brent know that he wanted this woman and he would do anything to be in her. What I did not is how the author portrayal of Jackie towards her ex. She made her weak, a pushover and without a backbone and it instances I had to push through to push reading the book.
I am glad that through fate and persistence the was able to get their HEA. The once jaded by Jackie has finally gotten someone to love her unconditionally.

This story was such an enjoyable read. Jackie has been burned so many times that she thinks Brent is just another handsome face with no staying substance. They have so many miscommunications that it seems as if fate is keeping them apart. Sometimes you have to look farther than surface skin to really see what someone is like and Brent needed to do that with Jackie. This was a sweet read with a beautiful ending. Somewhat disappointing. Unlike the other books I read from this author in this series, this novel for me left a lot to be desired. Jackie and Brent may be perfect for each other but they each exhibit a whole host of character flaws that is hard to skim over and still like the characters. They first meet at a wedding where Jackie is the Maid of Honour and Brent is the Best Man at his brother’s wedding to Jackie’s best friend. Sparks fly, but after a hottish scene in a coat cupboard and promises which one party believes were broken, instead of love, disappointment and hurt turns feelings to hate. As events unfold, Brent believes that Jackie lives with a boyfriend but as he can’t forget her, he propositions her for sex. Despite her hatred for Brent, she goes along with it, as she goes along with all the things that happen around her because she is a total push-over, who can’t or won’t stand up for herself. It is one thing to be kind, accommodating, helpful and trusting and is quite another to just allow others to manipulate situations and have such power over one’s life because of shying away from confrontation. The acceptance of Brent’s totally excessive gift is a form of payment if I ever saw one. On the other hand, Brent has no scruples. I am aware that people are not always faithful to each other in marriage or a committed relationship but deliberately propositioning a woman as our male protagonist does, believing that she lives with a boyfriend was disappointing. His hypocrisy is even greater when he confronts Dennis for cheating on Jackie, since in his mind, Jackie was unfaithful to Dennis by having had sex with him. The fact that Jackie was not in a relationship exonerates her but not him. They both assume a lot with so much being left unsaid and clarified, that I wanted to shake them, out of pure frustration. The language, vocabulary, along with the editing was good, making this book a page-turner but I felt that the plot aimed at the goal, rather than the journey.

Here is a story that I think can only be classified as a lovely romance with such funny and sad twists that it was a total delight to read it. I thought in the beginning that it would just be one of those stories… that you read and somehow don´t connect with, but that was after reading the prologue… I am not sure but once I started reading the story itself, it just kept me captivated and I could hardly put it down until it was finished. So just well done and what a lovely story, but hopefully not a lot of people get this same feeling as I had after only the prologue… But four very well earned stars go to this story. I just loved it!!!

The author has pulled us into the lives of Jackie and Brent and does not let go. They have an attraction that they try to fight but ultimately come together. That is, until someone tries to tear them apart.
