When every woman wants him, how can she believe that he loves her?Marguerite Chance is an organic farmer in the idyllic town of Hidden Falls, Oregon. She’s as rooted as her heirloom tomatoes, but when food truck owner Alexei Vasilopoulos rolls into town, looking more like Adonis than a real human being, she fights her attraction. No man who looks like Adonis could ever be interested in a plain … a plain woman who digs in dirt all day; she’s been burned once before by a man who thought his good looks gave him a permanent hall pass for bad behavior.
Alexei has been propositioned by everyone from modelling scouts to older woman who should know better for most of his life. He didn’t ask for his face, and mostly he’s used to fending off women, but there’s something about Marguerite Chance that appeals to him on every level. Trouble is, she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Alex has so little experience in actually wooing a woman, that he’s not sure how. Good thing he’s got not only his own Greek family giving him advice, but also the large Chance clan.
This is book 5 in the Take a Chance series of romantic comedies, but each book can be read separately. Fall in love along with Marguerite and Alex.

This delicious story had me laughing and craving Greek food! You can’t go wrong with a Nancy Warren romantic comedy!
Fell in love with the family. Have now read the entire series.
Love is blooming in Hidden Falls, Oregon. Marguerite, the local vegetable farmer, falls for the handsome Alexei, who owns a food truck. I like how easy this book is to read or listen to, i also love the characters. There’s a light sex scene and great romance. Nancy Warren has done it again, perfect romance for someone like me. Y’all will this series and this family is huge, they’re all falling in love. Each book could be read as a stand alone or out of order.
If you love a fun story, then Love to Go is the story for you! Love to Go is book #5 in Nancy Warren’s lovely Take A Chance series. The Take A Chance series is the story of the Chance family. Daphne and Jack Chance met on a cross-country bus trip, fell in love, and raised a houseful of children… some by birth, some by adoption. This family is defined by love. Each book centers on a different grown child.
Marguerite Chance is the daughter who loves her family, and her simple life. She lives in a cabin on her parent’s home-place. She is a dedicated organic farmer who loves nature, grub worms, and dirt beneath her fingernails. Alexi Vasilopoulis owns a food truck in the nearby city. He is a sincerely nice guy, but his Adonis looks have created difficulties for him during his entire adult life. Fashion model gorgeous women approach him all the time. Most guys would be happy. He calls it his “curse”. Marguerite sells her heirloom tomatoes to Alexi… a friendship blossoms. Alexi is smitten with Marguerite. She’s his perfect woman. Marguerite believes that she can not compete with the beautiful women that are always around Alexi. Miscommunication and hurt feelings ensue.
No spoilers here, but the final chapter of this story is so much fun! It’s as much fun as watching Chevy Chase in Vacation, or Bill Murray in Ghostbusters, or John Belushi in Animal House! Will Marguerite and Alexi claim their love… and give both of their mothers the grandchildren that they vocally desire? This book is a favorite. It is a book that always lightens my mood… and puts a smile on my face. 5 stars!
I read all six books in the Take a Chance series in quick succession, so this is a blanket review for the series:
Firstly, Nancy Warren always manages to write characters who are relatable, quirky, individual and likeable. Secondly, she has an innate ability to develop those characters just enough and in just the right ways for us to become totally invested in the outcome of their stories.
This collection of books can be read as stand-alone but is so much more rewarding if read in order. They are sweet, romantic, a little bit steamy and every so difficult to put down. I enjoyed every last one and was so disappointed when I read the last sentence of the last book. Straight to the top of my favourite reads this year!
Loved the food truck!
Sweet and charming. Will definitely look for other books by this author!
Great story about an organic farmer who has a crush on a chef and starts dating him. Love this series and meeting all the siblings. Definitely recommend
Who doesn’t fantasize about a Greek lover, especially when he is perfection in every way!?!
A good romance and good characters.
Good read
Who would have ever thought of putting an organic farm operation and a traveling lunch truck into a single story line …. but in this case, it’s a perfect recipe for a delightful book
And even when building a very nice story line with some great characters, Nancy Warren gives the plot one very funny (don’t know if it was meant to be that way) twist which turns a romance which seems to be faltering into a series of events that are funny, whimsical and sort of emotional.
I loved the final chapters of this book … it’s well-written and the plot moves along very nicely. You can’t help but enjoy it.
Loved this book for its easy pace and topic of food and organic gardening. Lots of love all around in this book for the Chance family.
Totally enjoyed it. Great characters.
Really enjoyed the book and the rest of the series.
Stupid. Didn’t finish it. Boring
Not a favorite.
I enjoyed this book had some touching moments in it and made me want to keep reading to see what would happen next.
Large family romances. Enjoyed reading this book.
Formulaic, but good characters and an enjoyable read.
