I really enjoyed this. I dragged it out because I just wanted to be in the Stage Dive world for as long as possible. The whole series is going on my re-read list. This was a really short, really cute second chance romance with plenty of cameos. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.
3.5 Stars
I’m quite satisfied with this novella. I usually don’t like short stories because I rarely come across ones that aren’t insta-love but this second-chance novella worked out well.
I liked both main characters although I have to say Jill a little bit more than Adam but only because the book is told from her POV. It made it easier to connect and understand her and I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get his perspective (too), especially because the blurb made it sound like we would. I think a glimpse into his thoughts and feelings would have rounded the story off a bit more.
Besides that, Kylie Scott did a great job of packing all the essential parts of Jill and Adam’s past and present relationship into this short novella AND being able to give us readers a Stage Dive cameo.

First and foremost, I am always deliriously happy to return to the world of Stage Dive and its awesome members. This series is my favorite rockstar romance and every opportunity to get reacquainted feels like Santa’s visit. And although Love Song is a short novella, devouring it was the most delicious and satisfying snack. Jill and Adam’s story was a total rollercoaster, filled with misunderstandings, steam and sweetness.
In this installment Kylie Scott delivers a second chance romance straight from love lyrics. A tale of regrets, misunderstandings and miscommunication. But it’s filled with such strong chemistry and unrestrained passion that you’re gonna be glued to the seat and you won’t be able to tear your eyes away. If you liked Adam in previous books, he will steal your heart completely in this one, despite being a real moody artist. And when it comes to Jill, you’ll want to give her a high-five for her fierceness and sass. I loved them!
Love Song is a quick, cute and hot as hell addition to the Stage Dive world. It contains not only an amazing love story, but it’s also filled with cameos of our favorite rockstars. And although I liked this novella very much, I would rather see it as a full novel. Or maybe that’s just my greediness speaking, I can never part with this world lol!
Kylie Scott writes to my mind and heart. Every book is another adventure that she takes me on that I am sad has to end, a happy ending, but an end. Then she writes a story like Love Song to take me back to the world of Stage Dive and my heart soars and my mind does a happy dance.
A 1001 Cark Nights novella, Love Song is a quick read. Adam and Jill are brought back together after having gone their separate ways. Once they start talking the understand of what they had and what they need give us a great story about love, loss and redemption.
A great read from a truly, truly great author.
I loved this novella, I couldn’t put it down.
Love Song is a second chance love story set in the Stage Dive World if you haven’t read them don’t worry you will still be able to follow this novella but I would recommend them.
Adam Dillon is the rockstar of the moment happily riding the fame game on the back of songs written about his ex Jill. There is only one problem she doesn’t agree with his interpretation of their break up. This is a quick but enjoyable read I liked the storyline and characters but because it is short don’t feel like there was enough time to get to know them well. I loved catching up with the guys from Stage Dive.
LOVE SONG is a contemporary, adult, erotic rock romance novella in Kylie Scott’s STAGE DIVE series, and the latest instalment in the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights. This is rock star Adam Dillon, and hair stylist Jill Schwartz’s story line. LOVE SONG can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Several of the Stage Dive members make cameo appearance for familiarity.
Told from first person point of view (Jill Schwartz) LOVE SONG follows the second chance romance between rock star Adam Dillon and hair stylist Jill Schwartz. One year earlier Jill Schwartz, tired of Adam’s antics and lack of commitment kicked Adam out with a heavy heart. Fast forward to present day whererin Adam, about to head out on his first world tour, comes face to face with his past, an angry but determined Jill Schwartz. What ensues is the quick rebuilding romance and relationship between Adam and Jill, and the potential fall-out as their time together quickly comes to a close.
Breaking up with Jill was both the best and worst things to happen to our story line hero. Writing an entire album focusing on the breakdown of their relationship pushed Adam Dillon to the top of the charts but said songs only revealed one side of their breakup, making Jill persona-non-grata in the eyes of Adam’s fans and music followers. Jill Schwartz struggled in the year after kicking Adam Dillon to the curb but a surprise ‘gift’ from the man that she loved forced Jill to confront all of her old feelings and her attraction to our story line hero.
The relationship between Adam and Jill is one of second chances; a rekindling romance that looks at success in the face of loss; regret, loneliness and love. The fast paced premise is entertaining and captivating; the romance is steamy and provocative; the characters are familiar, energetic, and fun (aka Mal). LOVE SONG is a quick read that revisits all of the Stage Dive couples -a welcome and anticipated return to the world of Kylie Scott’s rock stars and romance.
Another fabulous read in the Stage Dive world, will Jill and Adam get their second chance?
Jill receives a check from her ex-boyfriend Adam, and she is determined to get the story. She feels as though she is the reason behind all of his recent breakup songs, and sets off to get into his concert. The fabulous novella delves back into the rock star world of Stage Dive, there is something so yummy about a rockstar.
I need more!! This is a great short story for those readers who like me are a huge fan of Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series and equally for those who are new. I will never tire of being in the company of the band and I’m certain new readers will be intrigued to officially meet them all and learn their stories by reading the series.
This novella focuses on Adam, who is the new big name of the rock industry, and Jill his ex-partner, and I really enjoyed getting to know Adam and learning this couple’s history. I thought the author did a great job, bearing in mind the length of this story, to let the reader know what had happened between Adam and Jill in the past and how things develop here in the present time.
This second chance story has me hoping that this isn’t the last we see of this couple…. or my Stage Dive guys!! It was lovely to have Mal add some humour and fun. I only wish this had been a longer read.
What an absolute joy it is to be back in the world of Stage Dive! While Jill and Adam are centre stage, my favourite rock star crew are there to bring a smile to my heart. Jill and Adam’s story is sweet, hot and a totally satisfying read and tempts me to revisit the whole crew. Fabulous!
Adam and Jill get right to the heated heart of the matter, and that’s a good thing. At only 79 pages, there wasn’t any time to waste for these two, never should have parted a year ago lovebirds to reconnect and work things out. Adam may have found success by keeping his head full of angry break up song lyrics during that time, but it’s his heart he has to lay on the line now if he wants to make beautiful music once again with this sassy heroine.
Jill is a force to be reckoned with when she storms this rock band’s fortress. She’s got something to return, a piece of her mind to deliver, and nobody is going to stop her from doing just that. Good golly, Miss Molly, I do believe if she’d said in the past what she said in the here and now things would have been quite different this past year. Though it wasn’t part of her plan to set things into motion for a reconciliation, we are lucky enough to have front row seats to witness these two halves being put back together to make a whole, brand new, much stronger than ever main couple.
As a huge fan of the Stage Dive series, I’m always happy to spend time with all the characters from this series. This go around their cameos were fleeting glimpses, but I enjoyed them all the same. My only regret here is this very short novella wasn’t a whole lot longer. It was a blink of an eye read for me. I’d loved to have spent more time with them. Maybe even throw in an emotional, romantic “gotta go get my girl” wrap up conclusion. All while eliminating the fact Jill stayed celibate during their split, while Adam apparently did not. At least we were spared specific, graphic details.
Here’s to hoping Ms. Scott keeps the romantic music flowing here, my fellow romance book loving friends. If so, I’ll be sure to be front row and center each and every time.

I adore the world of Stage Dive and this novella was a perfect addition to it.
This was too short for my liking..like I blinked and it was over.
Adam and Jill have a complicated relationship that has taken a detour until it came back to the right path.
It was funny and cute and I loved it.

Love Song is a standalone novella in the Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott. It’s is also part of the 1001 Dark Nights world. I have read a few but not all of the books in the Stage Dive series and enjoyed each one. There is just something about a rock star, right? Yum. Poetic and sexy.
One year ago, she kicked his ass out. And within that year he has written an hit album about their break-up, living in the same apartment building with rock stars, and touring. Famous and rich when one year ago he was living in her apartment, eating cold pizza and writing music. And for that he is grateful and why he sent her a check. And exactly, why she wanted to talk to him. She didn’t want it. What she wanted was to hate him. To hate him for the lyrics of those hit songs. They were lies to her. And she wanted to talk to him about everything one last time, face-to-face. What she didn’t expect was the way she felt towards him. Especially when they go up to his fancy new apartment. And especially when he tells her the truth about the last year.
I can’t say more than that. I will say that this might be a novella but there is a lot of story within. Lots of fight, emotion, love, and sexiness.
Quotes:
“They can’t all fall at your feet, Adam. It would get boring.”
He frowned. “With her, just once would be nice.”
“You’re a demanding woman. You know that?”
“Damn right I am.”
“Break my heart again, Jill.” His sweet sexy smile made my heart hurt. Damn the man. “C’mon. I dare you.”
Love Song, a 1001 Dark Nights Novella is the perfect introduction to this author’s Stage Dive series as it gives the reader a taste of her beautiful writing style along with the an entertaining story that is sure to capture one’s attention. For those loyal followers, you will be pleased to have this new, albeit short addition to the series.
Love Song is a second chance romance between two characters who are seemingly opposites and had a falling out just before Adam skyrocketed to superstardom. Adam is the quintessential rockstar star – famous, gorgeous, and charismatic. While Jill is a sassy little spitfire that brings him to his knees I found myself chuckling at the humorous moments especially at Jill’s wonderfully snarky comments. This is a relatively short novella and while the author tied up the second chance aspect between them, I found myself wanting more. Nonetheless, it is a solid rockstar romance that I really enjoyed. I especially loved the cameos from the Stage Dive band members and their partners. So much so, that I am ready to reread the entire series because it is that good!
3.5
Love Song is a rockstar, second chance romance set in the Stage Dive World.
After being thrown out of the house by his girlfriend, Adam Dillon achieved success thanks to an album full of angry songs towards the ex-girlfriend who broke his heart.
Jill has a different view of how things went between them, but when she has the chance to confront him, things don’t go as they would have expected….
Despite the fact that is a short novel,
i enjoyed it
I was really curious about Adam’s story because i liked him, but after reading Love Song i’ve to say i loved more Jill !!
She is the devil to the world because she broke Adam’s heart yet she is still happy for his success.
She is strong and true, and definitely my favorite one.
The best part of this book is being able to meet again all the Stage Dive series’ characters They are an amazing family and i missed them
Especially Mal
Most love songs are quite romantic but some of them focus on the downside of love, painting the ex-girlfriend in such a way that she ends up as a villain to the listener’s minds.
When Jill unexpectedly receives a whopping big cheque from her ex-boyfriend Adam she is determined to meet with him face to face. Doing that is not easy though, he has found success in the rock world, thanks to a leg up from Stage Dive and is now a hot commodity.
Jill shows up at Adam’s live concert determined to get past security and his manager so she can talk to him in person. She manages to convince them enough to get backstage and this is how she ends up in the back seat of his car ride home to see if they can both get some closure. Adam is shocked to see Jill again initially but also curious about what she wants, surely the cheque he sent her was enough money?
Jill feels like she is the subject of most of his recent songs and it concerns her that there is ill will between them now. They were different people back then and she sacrificed a lot for his dream of a career in music. Adam thinks the money he is offering her goes some way to thanking her for everything she did for him.. However, he forgot how a female mind works, Jill wants all the answers to the swarm of questions going through her head and she isn’t going anywhere until she gets them.
It’s a delicious treat when Kylie offers up another novella set in the Stage Dive world and this one definitely satisfied my appetite.
