This collection of 11 books by two authors are clean and sweet, entertaining and enjoyable to read. It is a good collection for a good price. Emma Evans wrote four books, the first two books of two of her series I’ve read before. The rest of the books are written by Elaine Hart from various series.
All the stories have issues with grammar, punctuation, and language appropriate for the time. I read a lot of Regency period novels, and this kind of ruins my ability to get into the story as well, so I would rate this 3 1/2 stars.

A very nice collection, all but one set in England.
The Viscount in Hiding
A pleasant way to spend a day, this gentle tale has just enough roughness to appeal to those over 21 as well as precocious teens. Good contrast between the London Season and life on the country estate with some gentle elucidation of the boundaries between the classes.
The Reluctant Viscount
A lovely read to fill a morning or afternoon with pleasant main characters, showing the different expectations for ladies and gentlemen of the era.
Threatened by a Lord
The tendency to blame the woman is nothing new. A delightful, family-friendly read for a long afternoon, this latest early Season Regency entry from Emma Evans is on a par with all her others.
The Widow and the Lord
A very nice way to pass a day.
Alex & Harriet
The outlier which is set in the United States and takes about half of a day to read.
An Everlasting Love
A family-friendly tale of childhood friends who are separated for a year, which can be read in less than three hours.
A Healing Love
A pleasant way to pass several hours.
Lady of His Dreams
Another family-friendly tale that can be read in a couple of hours.
The Heart of a Lady
A family-friendly tale that can be read in about an hour.
The Memories of a Duke
A nice, three-hour read.
A Heart’s Return
A nice, two-hour read.

*** Reviewing “THREATENED BY A LORD” ***
Lady Olivia, daughter to the Earl of Blackford, walked in the park with Lord Hastleway, a viscount, as he told her suddenly that his thoughts had been “turning a particular direction” since he had met her. They had only met last week and had tea together once, so she wasn’t sure where this talk was coming from. She was uncomfortable that their conversations lacked any depth – no questions about her interests, just general chit-chat of what balls she attended and what she thought of various gowns this Season. This was hardly the way to get to know each other! Yet he impulsively grabbed her hand and insisted that she must marry him because he could not imagine being without her! Olivia again insisted that they did not know each other well enough yet – suspecting her large dowry might be what he really wanted — and she suggested he should court her before such an important decision. He snarled that he did not have time to “waste” on courtship – she either had to believe he loved her or not. So she stated she did not! In a threatening tone, he called her a fool and told her that no one dared refuse him. If she did, there would be severe consequences for her. And he demanded again that she marry him! She would not back down, despite the fear inside, and he left in a rage.
Seeing her collapse onto a bench, a stranger approached Olivia to make sure she was okay, fearing she may be unwell. But she was afraid, thinking he was working with Lord Hastleway. A carriage came up behind him as he talked to her. He nodded to the occupant and walked away as he saw he was upsetting the Lady. A young woman in the carriage, Lady Havisham, asked Lady Olivia to join her – she had witnessed what had happened and thought she might be of help. She seemed to know what Lord Hastleway would do, so she asked Lady Olivia to attend all future balls with her. She also asked for a description of the man who had been talking with her when she came up in her carriage – just in case they needed him at a later time.
David, the Earl of Winchester, looked out at the London streets, then moved back to the fireplace to rest his painful leg on a stool. He had broken it badly as a young man in a riding accident and now walked with a limp. His sister was going to the ball this evening and he would be escorting her. He would have to remember not to dance every dance or he would feel the pain the following day. But his mind again turned to the young woman he had seen in the park. He hoped she would be at the ball and they would be properly introduced. Then he turned back to hear about his sister’s excitement over a gentleman she was hoping would ask her to dance at the ball – Lord Hastleway!
Tired from the dancing, Olivia sat down. Behind her, a man said how happy he was that she was enjoying herself. She recognized the stranger she had met in the park, and they introduced themselves. They had a comfortable talk with each other and David went to get his sister to introduce them. But Lord Hastleway spotted Olivia and in a loud voice said that she had made aggressive advances on him, begging for his favors. He lied about everything. Before he could continue, Lady Havisham rose and loudly told the real truth of how that event actually happened, as she had witnessed it herself. The society ladies of Almacks stepped in and said 3 of them would hear testimony from Lady Olivia’s other witness, the gentleman who had seen her right after the incident. Then they would give their decision to the beau monde publicly. Would David, who had left the ball before Lady Havisham made her statement in defense of Olivia, come forward and tell what he saw even though he had initially believed what Lord Hastleway claimed? Would he remember how devastated she was and would he give her a chance to tell her side of what happened? Could his attraction to Olivia – if he could believe her — be pulling him toward his own future? Will the truth come to light or will Lord Hastleway ruin a good woman’s reputation?
*** Reviewing “THE RELUCTANT VISCOUNT” ***
Viscount Simon Thackery forgot all about his morning tea as he read the society news over again that Lord Morton had married! It reminded him of his own lonely situation, but he just didn’t want a wife yet, preferring his solitude more and more. He had title and wealth and was not interested in women seeking only those attributes. Producing an heir could wait another year. Among his letters, there was an unexpected one from his uncle in Scotland whose daughter, Miss Sophia Newton, was to have come out this year; but his uncle, whose wife had died, could not escort her himself. He was asking if Simon could be her chaperone in London? She would have her own companion, Miss Clara Dynes, with her. This was not something he wanted to do, but his father had taught him that wealth and title meant nothing if one did not help those in need, especially family members!
Sophia’s father, Baron Musgrove, kind and compassionate, was aware how badly Clara’s own brothers treated her and was grateful that Clara would be a companion to his daughter Sophia. When they finally arrived at Lord Thackery’s home, Sophia settled in the drawing room while Simon waited for the elderly woman who would be her companion. He was stunned when a young woman of good manners entered instead! His mind considered a variety of reasons for how she could be so young, beautiful, and yet not married. He could not get her off his mind!
Everything was going very well and Sophia was meeting many young men. Clara was surprised when Simon asked her to dance, however. Both of them were aware of their reactions to each other, though they kept it to themselves. But late one evening, a messenger arrived with a note for Clara. The note was unsealed and Simon demanded to know what it was about since the messenger had obviously read it! The man was to return Clara to her brother to prepare for her upcoming marriage. Simon knew she was unaware of this and sent the messenger away. Why such a sudden, in-the-middle-of-the-night decision by Clara’s brother to marry her off? Was Simon prepared to allow Clara to return to her brother for this sudden marriage? Or was he willing to look into his own heart and examine his true feelings for her? What would Clara feel? How far would they go to stop her brother’s selfish plans?

A really good collection of Regency books. I enjoyed them all. If you enjoy Regency books you will definitely enjoy this collection.
In the Viscount in Hiding, Lord William Morton, the butt of jokes from his friends because he becomes infatuated with ladies too easily, decides to run away from the London season and hide on his country estate. Juliette is physical and verbally abused by her stepbrother, who is trying to force her into a marriage to an awful man much older than her for money. She stows away in William’s baggage carriage to escape her brother and hides out on his estate in the gatehouse. William thinks she is a new tenant. While there she becomes injured and he brings her to the main house to recover. His housekeeper is cruel to her, so William fires her and hires Juliette instead once he realizes she was raised as a gentlewoman and has some experience with running an estate. All the while she lives with the fear that her brother will find her or William will discover who she is and send her back.
In the Reluctant Viscount, Simon Thackery agrees to sponsor his cousin Sophia for the season and she brings along a companion, who is much younger and prettier than he expected. He is attracted to Clara, but not sure if he’s ready for marriage. His hand is forced when Clara is almost abducted by her someone her brother hires to force her to marry a man he owes money too. For her protection, he suggests marriage. That doesn’t stop her brother from trying to abduct her. Along the way they fall in love with each other.
I have picked my favorite story to review all are as enchanting, Threatened by Lord, tells the story of Lady Olivia and how a lord tries to ruin her when she refused to marry him. By chance, their encounter in the book was noticed by Lady Havisham a young widow of independent means, she takes Olivia up in her carriage and goes forth into society to try and help Olivia save her reputation. When Olivia is belittled at a ball the patronesses from Almack’s hear the outburst by the lord who has threatened her. they give her a chance to clear her name she must bring them a witness to vouch for her, the problem is she doesn’t know the man’s name who offered his help after the incident in the park. Lady Havisham and her charge agreed they must find the gentleman and ask for his help. Will they find him and if they do will he know what really happened and if not will he believe Oliva’s side of the story, read this book and the other 10 in the bundle for a great treat.
