This book could be tough to read in places, but it is so good. Reading the first book of this series (Southern Comfort, which you really should read for the backstory), you are supposed to hate Ava. You see her start to change and start to figure it out there. In this story, you get to see how and why she is so broken in the ways she is, but she is truly fighting her way out of it, going against the current of everyone putting her down or attacking her. And she has people fighting for and with her for the first time. It is beautiful.
Love, Riley is Ava and Riley’s story. It was soooooo emotionally driven. A rollercoaster of emotions for sure! When I read Changing Lanes I DESPISED Ava! I wanted to strangle her, and she needed a good @$$ whopping! But I must say Leaona Luxx showed us a whole other Ava in Love, Riley. One that I grew to LOVE!
Ava is a troubled young woman with a deep, dark, troubled past. Ava does awful things at times to the people closest to her. Her feelings of being unworthy and lonely cause a not so good pattern of behavior. In Changing Lanes we saw these terrible things. In Love, Riley we find out the reason behind her actions. Ava wants to better herself, be a good mom to her daughter. A mom her daughter can be proud of. Not be the town whore anymore. Can she escape her past?
Mmmm Riley!!! Riley has been in love with Ava since he first saw her when he was 6 years old. She’s totally consumed his thoughts, his life. After he returns home from being gone 5 years, he jumps at the chance to be Ava’s protector. He truly hopes she’ll finally see what’s been in front of her. HIM! Will Ava finally see Riley?
Love, Riley was a beautifully written story. I was hooked from page one, and couldn’t put it down. My emotions were all over the place! Oh my, at times I still wanted to kill Ava, but I can now understand where she was coming from.
And Riley, HOLY HELL he’s an AMAZING man! I ADORED his character. Can Riley and Ava get their HEA? Grab some Kleenex and come take a ride down Hwy 17! But buckle up it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!!!

In Changing Lanes to say I wanted to kick Ava’s butt for all the stunts she played on Brannon, Torrie and also her own daughter Andi would have been an understatement, but I get her now an feel for her big time.
Ava is trying her best a mom Andi will be proud of and make her own life better in the process, but she needs to stop sleeping with the wrong guys. Riley’s back in town and he is hotter than ever and always seems to have her back. The spark between them is nuclear. The sex is out of this world, but love is the key factor. Life doesn’t seem to give her a break, demons from the past are causing trouble for her future.
Riley has been away for 5 years and the 1st person he bumps into is the woman who was his teenage spank bank and the one person he can’t get out of his head or heart Ava (Trouble).
