FROM POPULAR ROMANCE AUTHOR DEANA BIRCHAttorney Amee sets aside her own needs to juggle the broken pieces of her life and family until mechanic Ben repairs her heart.Divorce attorney Amee Benton—who has an ex of her own—is pretty sure she’s a #MomFail. Showing up late on a Friday night to retrieve her car from the shop and finding the pink frosted cupcakes she forgot to leave at her daughter’s … forgot to leave at her daughter’s ballet camp confirms it.

Amee has three things Ben finds irresistible in a woman—brains, a family and a serious potty mouth. During a chance run-in at Ben’s own personal hell, AKA the mall, he summons the courage to ask her out. Though Amee is leery of dating a younger man and Ben is more than aware of their social gap, the two take a chance.
But Amee’s life isn’t like his. And when her ex returns and the doubting divorcée blunders, all Ben’s insecurities are piqued anew. Now, Amee must prove to Ben that his worth is much more than stand-in dad and rebound boyfriend or she’ll watch her magical unicorn gallop off into the forest forever.

Deana Birch has a way with her writing that pulls you in, tugs at your heart strings and has you laughing all at the same time.
This story is an age gap, social gap and divorce all in one. Ben and Amee are tiring to find happiness in the mess of life. They both have real life struggles that you can relate to. This book had me enjoying both Amee and Ben’s characters from the very beginning. Then you add a messy life and kids into the mix to this heartwarming story you end up hooked start to finish.
A fun and entertaining romantic read. The characters and story line grab your attention and hold it throughout the book. Add a bit of drama, some emotions and you have a pretty good romance to read. A different take on a story line with divorce, a working mom and an age difference where the woman is older was a nice change up and makes if read more like real life.

I absolutely loved this book. Amee and Ben are adorable, and their story is so much more complex than I was anticipating. Amee is a hot-shot lawyer dealing with divorce, single parenthood, and feeling like she’s enough. Ben’s a mechanic dealing with family drama, some growing pains, and also feeling like he’s enough. Together, they bring a lot of complications to the table – but love always finds a way, as they say.
I think I loved this story so much because Amee reminds me of me. While I’m not a hot shot lawyer, I’m a single mom who is currently less than a year out from her own divorce. I could relate to Amee’s struggle of balancing life, work, kids, and dating. I could relate to her emotional struggles, her feelings of inadequacy, but also bucking up and getting it done when something needed to get done. I enjoyed her character and seeing her grow into the woman she could always be.
Ben is one of my favorite leading men that I’ve read this year. He’s kind, sensitive, stubborn, loyal, and super hot. He wants – and deserves – more, and the book equally focuses on both Amee’s growth as well as his. Ben’s story nearly breaks my heart at some points, but I was glad to get so much of his own story in this book. I think Deana did a great job of sharing both stories and twisting them together into this book.
Overall, I very much enjoyed this book and all of the characters in it. I couldn’t put it down.
I was provided an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this story about an older woman and younger man relationship. Amee was having a very bad day/week and to top it all off, she forgot the cupcakes for her daughter which led to a meltdown. Ben being the kind man that he was listened and their romantic journey began. But like all good things someone always come in for the spoil which would be her ex coming back from prison and needing a temporary place to stay. There is a lot of drama that comes with a divorced woman and the baggage that Amee has to deal with. Ben has his own not to mention his insecurities when it comes to dating a successful woman. Do they have what it takes to overcome their drawbacks to get a happily everafter?

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this book. It’s a beautiful love story between two imperfect people trying to overcome their limitations and emotional baggage. The way their relationship unfolds and the way we get to know each of them individually and as a couple is a moving journey. I found this book intense while at the same time filled with humorous moments. I have to say that by far, my favorite proposal /engagement scene from any book I’ve ever read, is in this epilogue. My thanks to Deana Birch for writing such a fabulous story.

Amee was having a horrible day starting with work then didn’t bring the cupcakes to her daughters camp. She goes to pick up her car where she meets Ben. Nate and Ben went to the mall to get his shirts for his new school. Ben runs into Amee at the mall they both were buying the shirts for the new school. Ben asks Amee out to coffee and she accepted. Ben and Amee have a lot of baggage on both sides. Ben also was insecure about him being enough for her. She was thinking about that she was older than him. Ben and Amee are getting to know each other better. Amy’s ex was getting out if jail and he had to stay at her place. Amee was adamant that he was to leave by the end of the week. Amee screwed up bad this time and really hurt Ben. Meanwhile her ex was still giving her problems until she finally told him it will never ever be together. Twists,
Turns, misunderstandings, heartbreak and love.
It all started with a broken down Porsche and a stolen cupcake. That is how Amee Benton met her unicorn, Ben.
Amee has a successful career as a lawyer and does well for herself. Her life as of the past year, has not been a good one. He ex husband went to jail for vehicular manslaughter and her daughters were bullied because of it. Amee has not taken care of herself and has suffered for it.
Ben wants a better life. He is a great guy, who works hard as a mechanic, attends night school and helps take care of his cousins son. He only wants to find a family and love. He is sexy as sin and sweet as can be. He scrapes to get by and sometimes lacks the confidence in himself to achieve his goals.
Everything changes for these two the day they meet. It is an instant attraction from the start. Ben wants to build a relationship, but Amee has hard time accepting it. She constantly worries about what others think and sometimes screws up. Everything gets worse when her ex Peter gets out of jail.
Will Ben and Amee make it? Or will Amee let the social differences get in the way?
Ben and Amee’s story is wonderful and inspiring. They really have lots of challenges to overcome throughout the book. Challenges that most divorcee woman suffer and deal with in real life. This adds a touch of reality to a fictional story. The book is easily relatable and the story flows nicely.
The characters in this book really do make it come alive. Especially Amee’s daughter Shae. She is such a glittery delight. The things she says cracks me up. Like all children her age, she tells it like it is and says the darnedest things.
If you like a love story that proves there is love after heartbreak and that families can survive divorce, then this book is for you. An inspiring read full of amazing and wonderful characters. This book is sure to be a soul reaching story. So pick up your copy today.

This was a good book, pretty well written, no huge barriers to the suspension of disbelief.
Amee was not my favorite person, and she totally did not deserve Ben! He was utterly amazing! The kind of person that you could only dream of finding. How much he cared for Amee – and her kids! – just made him all the more wonderful. (And as a former single mother who found myself a gem the second time around, I can attest to how rare those are!)
Most of the secondary characters (with the obious exception of Pete) are quite delightful. Jude is probably my favorite person in the whole tale; of course, all of the central kids were darling, although the others were mostly eclipsed by Shae.
I was SO sad for Ben at some points in the story. Basically everyone in his life treated him like crap, especially Amee. She should have had to try much harder for much longer to win him back!
Definitely a good contemporary romance that I would recommend to lovers of tales about single-parent and/or unlikely pairings, especially if you don’t mind quite a bit of angst on the way to the HEA. I must say, I absolutely loved the proposal! =)
Love Repaired is a tasty little May/December gender bendy romance with a frazzled, but fierce leading lady who is just as tempted by the unicorn mechanic that happens to stay late enough that she can pick up her car as he is by the pink frosted cupcakes she forgot on the passenger’s seat when she dropped it off that morning. Yeah, our Ben totally pilfers one of those confectionery goodies. But it’s all good it’s his cheat day.
What? You think a body of that level of chiseled perfection comes from eating brownies and hot dogs?
Amee isn’t just older than Ben. She is OLDER than Ben. Not chronologically speaking, but mentally and emotionally because this woman has been through it. She has an ex-husband in prison (oh yeah, it’s that deep), two daughters who are hurt by both the divorce and their father’s absence, and a demanding career as a cutthroat attorney. Hard enough for any woman to achieve success in that world, much less a single mom. When her #MomFail moments happen, she is harder on herself than any outside source is.
But that is where her magical unicorn comes in.
Ben not only manages to build Amee’s confidence to a level where it hasn’t been in years, he gives her time to decompress. Time where she isn’t the mom carrying it all or the lawyer ripping the opposition to shreds. He gives her moments to breathe and just be Amee. Exactly what she needs.
But life is never that easy, even when you have a magical creature in your life. Between disparities in income, family drama, and questionable levels of commitment, Ben and Amee have mountains in front of them that they must overcome in order to reach their happily ever after.
This is a fabulous, contemporary story with a capital “C.” It’s a modern love story between two flawed leads with tons of baggage who are still charming and lovable. And the chemistry is lovely.
Even better, there are kids in the story that are realistic and don’t detract, but instead add dimension and depth to the realism and the conflict and the relationship. I adore how we have a divorced woman who is able to move on but also has to deal with her ex in a realistic way instead of having him just disappear. It makes the book special and lets it’s readers see a real, modern HEA can happen.
The writing was lovely and the plot perfectly balanced. It was just a really great read.
This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Deana Birch; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

4.5 Stars
I loved this book so much. The characters had me sucked into this book right from the beginning. I loved the humor so much. I laughed quite often. Though this book has its light fun moments it also has serious real life moments. Ben has so many swoon worthy moments. That man is prime book boyfriend material. When Ben interacts with Shae those moments will ovaries to explode. Those were so of my favorite parts of the book. Little Shae steals the show when she is in the scene. She’s so sassy and adorable. Ben is so good for Amee only if Amee wouldn’t sabotage herself in losing one of the best things to happen to her. I would highly recommend this book. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. It gives you all the feels and humor, but a true picture of a blended family and all the entails. This book will hit you in the heart, but at the same time warm your heart. A must read for sure!
This was such a fantastic read. I absolutely adored the characters, especially their unique personalities. The heroine had a special level of spunk that just rocked my readerly world.
I’d highly recommend this to any contemporary romance fan who adores May/December romances… especially when they’re gender-bending! Who doesn’t love to see a fierce older woman get her hot younger man??
Guuuyyysss. Deana Birch has been one of those authors I’ve kept an eye on ever since her debut. I’ve read every book she’s written, and am constantly left with a smile on my face when I do. However, Love Repaired really, really hit it home for me. Out of all her novels, this is by far the cream of the crop. I adore how it shows her growing as an author, and it makes me love her even more!
This story was packed with heart. Amee, a divorced single mom with one helluva crappy ex-husband, is spunky and finally ready to give herself what she deserves. Someone to love who wants to reciprocate in the taking-care-of department—something she’s been sorely lacking. But when she stumbles upon a magical unicorn who has absolutely no right to exist in the real world, she finds everything she’s been looking for… and much, much more.
Ben was one of those male leads who grabs a gal by the ovaries from the get-go. He’s big, burly, and sexy, but also kind-hearted, loves children, and is looking for the total package—a family—not just insta-gratification and a fling. He isn’t afraid of commitment, but he is scared of being an albatross around too-good-for-the-likes-of-him Amee’s neck. (Which, we all know there ain’t no way a mythical beast like Ben could ever possibly be not-good-enough for anyone, but his modesty and focus on doing only what’s best for those around him is admirable and only makes you want to squeeze him all the harder.)
This was a delightful contemporary romance with all the right feels in all the right places. It kept me engaged and wanting more with every chapter I turned, and the adorable supporting cast (most of whom fall under the age of 9) will have you grinning. Especially when you see how epic and perfect Ben is with them all—even the surly ones.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good, heartfelt romance—especially one where there’s already a family in the picture. If your cuppa is seeing love interests fall not only for the parent, but the child(ren) too? Then this is absolutely for you.
This book could have been really good. It’s obviously well written and the characters were wonderful. I also really enjoyed the plot. Unfortunately, it was way longer than it needed to be. The constant back and forth drove me nuts. They couldn’t communicate for anything. They were petty and insecure and got mad over stupid stuff. It just got annoying after awhile.

Amee is a divorce attorney with an ex-husband and a daughter she feels like she’s failing to be a good mom to most of the time. She forgets cupcakes in her car that were for her daughter’s class. Ben is a mechanic and takes one of those cupcakes while working on Amee’s car. The couple are imperfect people just trying to make it in a crazy world. Amee has a penchant for swearing and is smart, two things Ben finds highly attractive in a woman. Ben is sexy, in good shape, younger, and a sweetheart. After a meeting at the mall, the two go on a date and things get steamy. Will Amee’s ex cause trouble and hurt the budding relationship? A cute read that I recommend if you don’t mind f-bombs, which I don’t think detracts from the story.
