I feel like I totally dropped the ball by never having read or listened to the Ariel Kimber series before! I am in love with these characters, cant get enough of their story. I already am listening to book 3 because I couldn’t help devour these amazing story nuggets haha.
For the story, we have to deal with some pretty heavy stuff that makes you want to laugh, cry, and scream, as well as hug the characters. I can’t imagine what Ariel has to go through, but I love that she is strong, determined, but starting to let others in after being so neglected before by people. I am starting to like more of the guys now that we are getting to see more of their personalities come out. I am really loving Marcus (sorry if I spell anything out wrong, I am listening instead of reading so I am just guessing here haha) and hope he has more spotlights in future books, but only time will tell with me listening to more haha. I think Quinton make me laugh and shake my head the most, he is so quirky and I am not sure what he will do next. I want to like Julian and Tyson, and maybe the twins, verdict is still out. Based on what I have listened to, I am feeling Dash will become a fav soon and Damien has a lot of work to do haha. I wont give anything away, but some things are revealed that I expected, some not so much. I am intrigued to see where Ariel goes with her powers and how the events in Book 2 will domino affect Ariel’s and the guys’ lives.
In terms of the narration, no completes at all from me. I will say it would be nice if the guys were distinct enough I could tell them apart, but only Quinton is at this point and that is more on the delivery than the accent. I know they all grew up together, but they wouldnt all sound exactly the same. I thought Melissa did a phenomenal job with the emotions in this one, some really heart wrenching moments we had to endure and I FELT the pain, the shock, the anger, etc. I am happy to see I have other audiobooks narrated by Melissa in my Library so I will definitely be checking out those stories next
Another great read in a fantastic series, an emotional rollercoaster and action packed. I couldn’t put it down, I was hooked from the beginnning, and can’t wait for the next book, Melissa Schwairy does a fantastic job narrating.
I had no idea I hadn’t reviewed this book when I read it. So now after re-reading it and I noticed I had to post my review since I thought I had it done way back. I love how the story progresses and we get drama with Chucky and Uncle Quinton. We see how Ariel’s relationship with the guys grow at a natural pace and with some it’s quicker than with others. I am a fan of this series and I recommend you read it.
This series has grabbed me and is not letting go. The first book was good but I enjoyed this one even more.
I am enjoying learning more and more about the covens and each of the guys. I am excited to see how each one will develop a relationship with Ariel and it is sure to be different for each of them.
I cannot wait for more of this series and so ready for book three.
I had some mixed feelings about this book. I absolutely love the storyline line and the direction it is going in. A lot is going on, but not to the point where it all feels like the author was just trying to cram a bunch of stuff in for shock value or whatnot. It flowed really well and I found myself not stopping once I started the book (yet another sleepless night lol).
However, Ariel does not seem to be growing much as an individual. There is definite forward movement in her relationships with the guys, but on her own she’s often sort of whiny. And while it’s expected to a point (she was abused by her mother after all), eventually she needs to start making strides forward. Otherwise, she remains a consistency immature and annoying character. And I’m not saying that I didn’t like her at all, I was just disappointed to not see more development for her.
Still, this really is a wonderful series and I fully intend to continue with reading the series.
This series is so good so far! Ariel is dealing with a lot of changes in her life and things don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. While dealing emotionally and trying to deal with her growing feelings towards some of the guys, she find things out that her mother kept hidden from her. This series gets more interesting the more I read. I can’t wait to read book 3!
