I’ve spent most of my life on the run from a dangerous man, who also happens to be my father. Jumping town to town and changing my name more times than I can even count.Friendships and relationships are alien to me…My closest companion being my mother, who has given up everything to keep us safe.A new town, per usual.New identities, also per usual.Only this time, my mother throws me a … mother throws me a curveball. Apparently, she plans on staying here long enough for me to settle in and complete my Senior year of High School. She wants me to see what it’s like being “normal.”
That’s how I meet Gray, and there is nothing expected about him at all. Even though the attraction is instant, we both try our best to ignore it. A high-school girl and an older man will cause a small-town scandal, which I need to avoid for my mother’s sake.
The difference in our age isn’t even the half of it. Not to mention my view on love and relationships: Purely chemical and ever-changing.
But how do I fight this when he is everything I don’t believe in, and I’m exactly what he doesn’t need?
NOTE: This is a sweet, yet steamy, New Adult Contemporary Romance.
RECOMMENDED FOR MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY.

Amazing story!
I was hooked from the beginning. Gemini Jensen created wonderful characters that I was not ready to say goodbye to and thankfully there will be a book 2 featuring Gray and Valley.
I loved almost everything about their story except for the little bump in the road they had only because I wanted them together so much. They began as friends because Valley became his little sister Lyra’s best friend but Valley finally got him to let her in and she finally let him in.
The names are unique and I love the story behind Lyra’s.
What can I say about Gray, he’s just amazing and is definitely in my “harem” of book boyfriends.
I cannot wait for Love on the Rise!!

I went into this book blind. Never reading the blurb or a review and I adored this story. Love on the Run by Gemini Jensen is one of those stories with a slow burning chemistry and a little bit of a kick with a HUGE cliffhanger at the end. Thank God book two comes out at the end of the year(ish). And to top it off, this a debut novel at its finest.
One of the things that I loved about this book is that chemistry between Gray and Valley as well as Valley and Lyra’s friendship. Very well written, the build of the story right to the end is perfect. The slow climb until BAM its over and you keep swiping your device hoping more will appear automatically.
Sloane/Valley has been on the run from a young age with her mom. Entering her senior year of high school comes with a new town, new name, new life, and new experiences. Having moved around so much, friends/relationships and general life experiences have been limited. But the first day at a new school, when Sloane bumps Gray things begin to unravel. Life starts to happen….feelings are happening….friendships happen… and then things can go wrong in a flash. Can they make something or will Valley’s past come knocking at the door?
Besides being a romance, there is more to this story. A little mystery, with a dash of high school drama, a sprinkle of town gossips and family drama drama drama.
Many thanks to the author for the opportunity to read your story.
This story sucked me in and still hasn’t let me go. I absolutely need more…and hopefully soon! This was an amazing debut novel from an author that I will for sure be stalking now. Gray and Valley’s story was so well-written and played out. Watching them fight their attraction to one another until they just couldn’t anymore was just perfect. I was not expecting a cliffy ending, but I’m not too upset about it. This is definitely a story that everyone should take a chance on!
I’m not really sure where to start with this book.
I honestly love the connection that Gray and Valley have, and how she would without thinking just spout off information she did not mean to tell him. Like a moth to a flame, just wanting to tell him and trust him with everything. I also kind of adored the fact that both were so cynical about love, and it took them a while for everything, to move themselfs forward.
Also the fact that they both felt so fiercely for one another, in protecting each other, but also the fiercness they had to protect those they loved.
The only problem I had was, the way Valley would talk, like she was an 80 year old lady. I mean I get she’s had to grow up faster, but just her inner monologue and everything. It was always so big worded and just over the time. Then there was Gray, and he was kind of the same at times. Somethings he would say just didn’t seem/feel right.
I liked the story, I just couldn’t quite sink into it fully to connect or feel that close to the characters.
Though, I am still in a way invested with all the characters in ways of needing the full picture of everyone, and connect the dots that I’m just not fully seeing.
This is the first book that I have read from Gemini and I will be reading more. This is the first one in this series and I am hooked. I love the connection between Valley(Sloane) and Gray. Valley and her mom have finally decided to stay in a place long enough for her to graduate from high school. She wants to experience life. Her first day she makes a friend who becomes her best friend Lyra. But not only did she gain a best friend in Lyra she gained a best friend in Lyra’s brother Gray. But there is so much more between Valley and Gray. I loved being able to watch their relationship play out. This book was very well written. I was hooked from the beginning with the chemistry between these two but also with the suspense that is written in with them having to be hidden away from her father. I was a little upset with the cliff hanger at the end did not know that there was a second book. But I am hooked and will be digging into the next one. I have to know what happens between Valley and Gray. I am also excited to see what happens with the other characters. A great book from beginning to end. Gemini has gained a fan with this one. So glad I decided to take a chance on it.
I really enjoyed this book from Gemini Jensen. It’s my first book by her and definitely won’t be my last. The plot sucked me right in and I’m screaming that it ended on a cliffhanger. I fell in love with the characters. I can’t wait for more stories about the side characters and I can’t wait to finish Gray and Valley’s story
I loved this book. Here you have a mom and her daughter who have been on the run from her husband and her daughters father. The husband/father is the head of a mob and treated his wife badly and basically he didn’t want any kids. When they move multiple times they change their names each time. When Sloane and her mother move to a new town, Sloane is 17 and in her senior year of school. Sloane meets a guy his name is Gray, and they both have instant attraction but both deny how they feel. Sloane, who becomes Gray’s sister Lily’s best friend. Sloane and Lily hang out a lot together and she see’s Gray every time. What could or could not happen? Sloane fears that her mom will move once again if things go awry and her mom feels they need to move again. It’s a page turner that keeps you wanting more. The ending made me cry and also left me wanting so much more. On to the next book of your’s Gemini. Thank you definite 5 stars!!!
Holy crap, woman. This is a debut? Seriously? This is absolutely AMAZING. From the first page I was absolutely captivated, and when it ended my scream of “WHAT THE HECK” could probably have been heard from Canada. (I’m not kidding). The only spoiler I’ll give: IT ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER. GURL.
Sloane, er- Valley, and her mom are on the run and have been for the last eleven years. She’s bounced across the United States, running from her past and the man that haunts both of their dreams. When she lands in a small town, her mom tells her to make some friends since they will be there for as long as they can. So she gets a new friend… and meets her new friends older brother.
Gray sees Valley and feels an immediate attraction, even though she’s got jail bait written all over her. He’s rude, but it doesn’t deter her from remaining friends with his sister. Gray’s family has had a lot of hardships, so despite his growing attraction he tries to stay away so his sister and Valley can remain friends. And then her 18th birthday hits and BAM there’s no going back.
This book has it all. Angst, drama, taboo relationships, mystery and humor. It also has an alpha male (yay!). There flow of the novel was so good, I almost wished she described every day of the six months because I wanted to know more. I loved that even though it was a young adult/new adult, the characters were mostly mature. I loved that Gray and Valley had to overcome more issues than Vogue to get to where they are.
AND IT’S NOT DONE YET.
But most of all- they had to mature as separate entities in order to love they way they wanted to. So I cannot wait until Love on the Rise comes out because from what I read in book one… it’s gonna be EPIC!!!
