Love on the Run is the story of Ginny’s escape from the abuse in her past. Ginny is very strong and she trusts her Lord. She has enough money to get to Fire Beach where she finds a job and a place to stay in this town of practicing Christians. (Don’t get the wrong idea. The book is not preachy. It is just that Ginny finds the strength she needs because she trusts God.) The book is novella length, but the characters and plot are well developed. I just sat down and read straight through because I could not put it down..
Another wonderfully touching and sweet inspirational story by the very talented Ms. Hoopes. She always delivers a good story full of faith and hope, and this one is no different. I really love the Men of Firebeach series. I was excited to finally read Graham’s story. This one touches on the very painful topic of domestic abuse. As difficult as this topic is, Ms. Hoopes handled it with much compassion and finesse. After what Ginny has been through, learning to trust again is hard, and Graham is patient with her. Ginny and Graham have really good chemistry and are great together.
The story is very well-written and emotional and definitely pulls at your heartstrings. I highly recommend reading not only this book, but the entire series. Truly a great read!
I was give a complimentary advanced reader’s copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I really liked this poignant, sweet, short story about Ginny fleeing from an abusive relationship, starting over, and finding God again. I also liked that it was set in Fire Beach , Illinois, which I have grown to really like through the other books in this series by Lorana Hoopes. Ginny is such a strong, brave, remarkable woman and it was interesting to see how her life turned out and how Graham’s life turned out so differently, yet their backgrounds were so similar. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I liked this story a lot. It has abuse, mystery, love & an HEA. Ms. Hoopes does such a wonderful job when she writes books. Congrats on another hit.
A great story about a second chance at love by an amazing author, Lorana Hoopes. Ginny thought she wa not worth much after all she had been through. After fleeing an abusive and controlling relationship, she ends up in Fire Beach where she learns otherwise as she finds new friends who help her find her faith and worth in Jesus. She gets a job, but when her ex comes looking for her,her new boss, Graham, takes them to a safe location or so it seems. Will her ex find them? Read this delightful story to find out what happens.
I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Ginny Darling fits the profile of a victim of domestic abuse, fleeing a bad situation, down on her luck and meets Mr Nice Guy. Then slowly and with the victim not recognizing what is happening the abuse, verbal and/or physical starts. I love that she doesn’t try to hide from people who can help her. Lorana Hoopes writes a wonderful story of learning to trust again.
Sweet quick story. I read this in an evening. Ginny a young woman that had a controlling madman for a boyfriend, finally decided to make a run for her freedom. She had been squirrelling away money and finally had enough to get a bus ticket to Fire Beach. Loved how she trusted Graham and Jordan enough to tell them about her situation to get a job and a place to live. If you like clean stories with some suspense mixed in, you will enjoy ‘Love on the Run’. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
A story about getting a second chance from the dark days of the past. A new start that includes freedom, a relationship and accepting God into her life!
I had an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. I enjoyed Lorana Hoopes novella. The characters were interesting and the plot had enough intrigue to hold your attention. I enjoyed reading Graham’s story.
Lots of action and suspense! Love can find you even as you are hiding from evil. Come along for this incredible ride! Fabulous characters and wonderful story line. Lorana Hoopes comes through again! Happy Reading!
She runs away from her abusive boyfriend . . . straight into the hands of a woman who is determined to do the right thing. But when her ex finds her, will he kill her? Or will God save her?
I enjoyed this short story about Ginny and her escape from an abusive boyfriend. She ends up in Fire Beach where she finds work as a hostess at Fire Dreams, a restaurant, owned by Graham and Jordan who are brothers. When they find out Ginny’s story, Jordan who is a policeman has Graham take her to their family cabin for protection. Is that enough to keep Ginny’s safe or does her ex-boyfriend find her? Do Ginny and Graham become a couple? You will have to read the book to find out. I recommend this book if you like Christian romantic suspense. I received this book through Bookfunnel, and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I really felt for Ginny in this story. Trying to leave an abusive boyfriend is tough and the author really put you right into her psyche as she was attempting to do so. I felt my heart rate go up as I was reading it and hoping the boyfriend wouldn’t catch her as she was leaving – please don’t come home, jerky boyfriend!!!! I felt the fear Ginny was feeling and the terror. That takes a great author to make the reader feel that way as you are reading it! As Ginny arrives in Fire Beach, the desolation she feels, I also felt for her! No money, no job, no place to live! How would you even go on? BUT, you are safe and that’s a good feeling! As she meets people that will help her, a tiny bit of optimism sparks inside her for the first time. Graham is a good boss and when he goes out of his way to help her by taking her to his mountain cabin to escape, maybe something will spark between them?? Great story!
ONE INCREDIBLE WHIRLWIND!!!
Fantastic! Lorana pours it on sweet and spicy with this beautifully composed work of art, displaying the pure essence with every sentiment and nuance, imparting this heartfelt and emotional whirlwind, laying out one enchanting storyline and gripping plot, launch this jewel to life flawlessly. Quirky mishaps and surprising happenstance, showcase the intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, stumbling through the crazy twists and wicked turns, testing them in ways they never saw coming. Coiled, knotted and tightly woven, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it’s simplicity and awe inspiring in it’s depth. This baby may be quick but there ain’t nothing short about it. The attraction and chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing an soul deep bond, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters are complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and realism, blend and flow transforming into relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Lorana, thanks for sharing this lil’ fella with us.
When all hope is gone and life is like a prison, what does one do?
This is a touching novella that deals with abuse … verbal, mental, emotional and physical abuse. Ginny Darling has lived it and finally decides enough is enough regardless the cost. So, she runs.
Fortunately for her, she’s not alone, but she does’t know that yet. She runs away basically with the clothes on her back, and only $45 for a bus ticket … to wherever it will take her. She was hungry, homeless and a stranger. Things looked dire, but to her, she was finally free and ready to change. Just so happen, there were people…. strangers, who were ready to help. Ginny thinks finally her luck is changing. But was it all luck? Or, was it a Devine appointment?
This is the story of Ginny. This is how Ginny broke the cycle of abuse she had suffered by her father and then her boyfriend. This is how Ginny comes to learn that there is One who is all knowing, all powerful and all loving. And this is the story of Ginny learning to trust in that One and finding that one special person meant just for her.
This was a great book. I loved the chemistry and the suspense. I definitely recommend this book. I have not been disappointed in any of Lorana Hoopes’ books.
This is the 2nd Lorana Hoopes. I loved this book’s storyline. I loved the action in this story. I loved Ginny’s character. I felt sorry for Ginny. I loved Graham’s character. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms. Hoopes.
This is a short story full of feeling. I was excited to find out Graham was getting his own HEA. He’s a sweetheart and he and Ginny are a perfect match. Lorana has packed a lot into one short book perfect for a quick romance fix.
I really liked this story, just wish there was more of it. That being said, this was a good read with developed characters. Ginny was running from an abusive relationship and went as far as the money she had would take her which just happened to be Fire Beach, IL. When she landed in Fire Beach she came to know the wonderful people we’ve seen in previous books in this series. This was a nice addition to the Men of Fire Beach Series.
I received a free ARC from the author and have voluntarily left this review.
More. I need more of Ginny & Graham! This was a fast paced, short story. Yet again, Lorana Hoopes, has created a fantastic story. This book was gripping, well written & the chemistry between the characters sizzled throughout this wonderful read. The topic of abuse that is feared and hidden behind the walls of a home is not a pleasant, “feel-good” topic, but I am pleased to know that this difficult topic is making its way into novels. I love the Men of Fire Beach series, and I know you will too. Be sure to read not only this book, but the entire series. I was given an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
