5-stars
Love on the Line is a truly phenomenal romance read by Laurie Lewis. It’s the second book in the Great Expectations Love Stories: The Graykens, a series that should be read in order as this book follows both Matt and Mikaela along the newest chapter of their lives.
Their story is so unbelievably emotional, and I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to read what would happen next and I couldn’t have been happier with how it all played out.
This is a romance read I would absolutely recommend to others!
I have read a couple of books from this amazing author but she keeps on surprising me. I absolutely love a beautiful Christian romance but this story exceeded all my expectations. This is the second book of the Great Expectations Love Stories. You do need to read this first book before you read this one or you will get totally lost. I was so excited for this book when it came out. When I got it I immediately started to read it. This story touches my heart so much I could not stop. It only took me a day to devour this truly beautiful story.
Matt and Mikaela fell for each other instantly. They knew that they have found their one. Mikaela finds out that Matt has a very deadly disease that could kill him but she doesn’t care. They want a life with each other no matter how long it will last. Mikaela went across the world to see if she can find his birth sister to help out Matt. She brings his sister back for a miracle surgery. Matt knows that it is going to be a tough road but he is willing to take the chance. Matt and Mikaela start a project that starts to get stressful. Matt needs to be careful about his stress level for his health. Will Matt and Mikaela get through the hard times or will it all be too much for them?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, pain, struggles, and forgiveness. You will fall back in love with these characters all over again. Matt and Mikaela will always have special place in my heart. These characters will make you feel all of the feels from pure joy to complete devastation. This talented author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the end. I absolutely loved the ending so much I had tears coming down my cheeks. I can’t wait to see what this author will have for us next.
Love on the Line by Laurie Lewis is the second book in the Great Expectations Love Stories: The Graykens. This book is as emotional and heart wrenching as the first book. There is something about these characters that completely draws you in and holds you captive.
The story was told so gracefully over both of the books. It definitely took me by surprised from the moment I picked up the first book but I can definitely say I am glad I have this series a go!
Love on the Line by Laurie Lewis a five-star read that you would give a limb for. This is the second novel in the Graykens series, part of the Great expectations Love stories, I would recommend you read them in order. Matt and Mikayla have a story that will test you, it will wring your emotions out and leave you in a heap. But it will also blow you away as its such a beautiful story, I know its odd to say anything about cancer can be beautiful but the author some how manages to bring it together and makes it so. You need this series, if you are having a bad day, give it a read and you won’t be any longer. If you are looking for a good read, then pick it up, you wont be disappointed.
This book was awesome! I have liked every book that I have read by this author and this one is no different. I’m not gonna lie I got a little teary eyed on a few parts of this book but it more than made up for it in the Happy moments. I loved the characters in this book especially when I felt the growth that they both shared and the person growth that each of them went through separately. I am hoping that their story will be continued and we will get to see more of them. I am looking forward to to reading more by this author and I would recommend this book to a friend.

This book was amazing! I think it is probably one of the best books that I have read so far this year. I absolutely loved book 1 so I was really excited to read the second book and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The authors writing had me captivated from beginning to end. Her characters are amazing, well thought out and just a joy to read about. In this book again Matt and Mikaela’s story had me hooked from the very beginning and brought out a whole host of emotions whilst reading it. I absolutely adored the characters; I truly wanted the best for them both. The author isn’t afraid to write about things that aren’t nice to think about and cancer definitely affects everyone in some way or form. I think that because of this I found this such a relatable story.
This is a continuation story and so should be read after book 1 and I know that if you have read book 1 and were desperate to see what happens next then you will not be disappointed. This is truly an amazing story and I loved every second of it.
What started as a small hunt for something to warm my heart on a cold winter night, something maybe within the seasonal feel, not only led me to this wonderful novel, Love on the Line but Love on a Limb, which started it all for me. I have been quite speechless actually for the words to do proper justice to not only my feelings that I have but those that are provoked while reading the book. I do know for sure that I will not go into details, that is one thing you will need to dive into not just this book, but also Love on a Limb for yourself in order to truly appreciate the journey to be had. Matt and Mikayla will definitely make sure you feel the gambit of emotions though, tears included if you are anything like myself, so you will want to have those comfort items and a box of tissues to keep you company while you read. My only complaint it that this is over, but I am for sure ordering hard copies now so that they can grace my bookshelves and I can hold them and enjoy these beauties whenever I need my emotions ruffled. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Laurie Lewis! Thank you so much for this fantastic read!
This is the follow up story of Love on a Limb. We were left with Matt and Mikaela after their wedding in book one. We find Mikaela and Matt are still fighting the cancer. More choices are offered with more decisions to be made this time around. Mikaela and Matt’s love is amazing! If they would just let it shine through. Love is love, no matter what and sometimes love is work. Every time, though, love is worth it.
“I promise you, Matt, nothing comes before us. Whenever love is on the line, I’m always going to choose us.”
This story includes new characters that will make you shake your head in disbelief. Some even make you smile with heart felt love. I loved the story line except again for the cancer. Because like my review of book one: I hate cancer.
This author never ceases to amaze me with her story telling. I look forward to what else she can write!

I’ve finally read this story. I’ve been putting it off because the first book was really emotional. This one didn’t disappoint. I actually had tears come down my face as I read this story. So much love in one group. So much hope and faith. Mikaela is a very strong woman. She stood by Matt through everything never giving up or losing faith. Life is full of surprises and unfortunate events. The author did a really great job laying this story out and building up your possibilities. Almost made me wish that life really worked like they do in books.
Hands down, this emotional roller coaster is worth every single emotion you will experience. I simply adored this book and these characters. The story is so well developed I found myself reading the last page before I knew it. Just a fantastic book and series. Loved it.
Wow! I read Love on a Limb and became totally invested in Matt and Mikaela’s story. This book, Love on the Line continues their love story in the midst of the physical and emotional turmoil surrounding those who receive bone marrow transplants.
It realistically and gracefully deals with the feelings of guilt, indebtedness and despair the characters must navigate on the road to wholeness.
Matt must decide whether or not to give up whenever there’s a setback or take hold of the hope that Mikaela brings. He loves her yet when he sees how his condition is affecting her he questions his motives in holding onto her love. Mikaela would do anything to save Matt. She proved it when she went all the way to Ireland to find a donor. Seeing Matt’s ups and downs is hard enough but it is even more difficult when she desperately wants his baby and knows it’s impossible. Or is it?
Through all of their struggles they decide to bless others and pour themselves into two charities that they have begun. Will the added emotional struggles they didn’t foresee bind them together or tear them apart?
If you’re a Laurie Lewis fan or just want a tender and heart-grabbing love story to add to your collection this is the book for you. I highly recommend it.
I love this book. It brings so much emotion and I found myself crying in parts. It is a sweet romance story that shows you how strong love can be when life takes a bad turn and beliefs in miracles are a must. Matt and Mikaela are great characters that have been through so much and it was great watching them grow throughout their story. This author has created a story that I couldn’t put down until the end. I must say it left me with an emotional hangover, I loved it, a must read!

I will start this review with an excerpt of my review for Love On A Limb…..
“I have read so many books this year, and in my life. Ive many times read and been touched by a book and claimed that it was my favorite for that year or whatever. I can honestly, straight from the heart say that NO BOOK has ever touched me the way this book has. Books often grip me and take my emotions on a ride but this one, this one will hold on forever. Im praying I’ll someday find that she has a paperback of this book because I need this in my life and on my shelf.”
I just finished Love On The Line and reading the acknowledgments at the end is where I will start….Dear Author….your worries of falling short were unneeded…I will not say you bypassed Love On A Limb because that still sits proudly at the top of my favorites of all time, what this addition to that story did was just add a continuation of those same feelings. There are many books I’ve read in my life that do deserve a different category then the rating max we are allowed but these books sit in a category even above that in my mind.
Thank you for keeping this so so real and making me feel these emotions so deeply. I am blessed with this kind of love in my life which made my feelings and understanding of these stories that much more powerful. The care you took in forming all of these words is not even explainable by someone like me that doesn’t have the same way with words.
I’ve read MANY of this authors books and I won’t take away from how much I loved all of them but this story completely knocks me out…I’m not even going into the storyline, I’m praying that anyone that reads this review will go back and read my first review and will take my advice and pick up BOTH of these books…please do not read this one without reading the first…I will usually give in and say you could read this out of order, but not in this case…don’t do it..trust me.
I could go on for days, but will end here with a sincere heartfelt thanks to this author. You seriously have set the bar high and I can’t imagine where you will go next but I do know I’ll be the first in line when you release it.
***sigh*** I hate this is over but can’t wait to read them again and again.
